  • Hello and welcome to Rich Textures Crochet!
Today we are going to learn how to crochet a foundation double crochet stitch. This technique is handy when a pattern calls for a foundation chain followed by a row of double crochet stitches. In stead of working the foundation chain and then the row of double crochet, you can work them both at the same time! No more working into tight starting chains!
    Thank you for watching!

OH MY!!!! What a great tip. The beginning looks so neat and even, unlike using a chain to start your project. I'm saving this to my computer so I can find it again when I begin my next project. I also tried this with a single crochet and it works great too. THANK YOU for the helpful tip.

Thank you so much for the tutorial. I have a question. . I was wanting to know the math on how to convert a 'Foundation chain with a multiples of x plus y.' To a fdc (or fhdc, etc.) Say for the basketweave stitch : The pattern is multiples of 8 + 4. Do I leave off the 4 because it is the turning stitch or do it 8 + 3. For some reason it is escaping me, lol! tia!

This is beautiful. What yarn are you using? It looks gorgeous, shiny, soft & elegant.
Have been saving tuts for these for a while. Trying to get faster & still look nice for charity projects. Working into the back bump is always a pain. This is perfect. Thank you!! Have a great day.
