I learned chainless half double crochet just a while ago and glad you make this video. I found your explanation more helpful and easier to follow. Thank you for your video.
I love chainless foundations. Thank you for showing us a little more intermediate / advanced stitches! You really are still my favorite to learn from after all these years.
Thank you for doing this. I have been crocheting for only a year and a half but I could never do this stitch. You explained it so well.. and boom I have it
This is gonna help a bunch! Because I'm new and tend to work a little tight, I've had a heck of a time trying to figure out the length of a project based on the length of my starting chains. Now I can measure as I go. Thanks! (Also, thanks for the warning about not going too tight to avoid the "rainbow" effect.)
Hi!! Thanks for the great video! Could you help me please? If I have to make a base of 35 chains, how many foundation half double crochet (US) would I need to make? Thanks in advance!!
Thank you 😊 I have a tutorial for a double crochet chainless foundation here: th-cam.com/video/hXh7MVcRpFw/w-d-xo.html (this is known as a single crochet in the US. If you wanted to combine different stitches in the foundation row I would use a traditional starting chain
I think a regular chain would work better for a granny rectangle due to the thickness of the chainless foundation, and the fact that you need to work into both sides 😊
I have tried this start up and it works well ,and very easy once you get the hang of it

I prefer working with chains, but this looks very easy and interesting. Will give this a shot just to be able to say "I can do it!" Thank you Sarah!!
You're very welcome 🙂
Great for when you don’t know how long to make the beginning row, also for beginners learning to read their stitches.
Thank you 🙂

I always forget about the time zone difference so I’m never awake but, luckily, I was awake tonight (or this morning in the UK).
Can I use this for a rectangle granny blanket please. Thank you
