I want to thank you for this very helpful video! I bought my 49PUS6401/12 about
a month ago and I was very unhappy with the color results. My wife even wanted me to reinstall our ten years old Sony Bravia HD ready ( 32 inch ) which had beautiful colors. You cannot imagine how happy I feel with your proposals for the settings. I use the "day settings", all the time and they work perfectly on my model. I just changed one setting : color 65% instead of 60%. Once again : thanks!!!

Thanks a lot to be honnest I bought this tv this week, I was very dissapointed about the quality, and doubting about it return it to the shop. After done your night settings it looks much better. Thanks a lot!! I use the night settings these are fine to me. Is there a big difference between your night and day setting ? (Havent tried day setting)!

I have two questions for you,
first I downloaded a sample hdr video from the net and I was able to play it in both samsung and lg "hdr" enabled tvs but philips just said the format is incompatible. (this was on a store) It maybe that the tv's software wasn't updated or it is not playing hdr videos correctly ? (were you able to play them correctly ? )
second you said if we wanted to see the settings for hdr we have to plug in something hdr enabled, so that means we can't use tv's hdr features on normal hd/ultra hd satellite channels ??? Does this mean we can only use hdr features if we plugin a ps4 pro or an updated xbox one console for example ? Can't I have any benefits of this tv having hdr even it is not as good as samsung ?
What about the best sound settings for movie and music?
Excellent tv. Took a while to find the HDR settings with my Xbox One X. Set the HDMI Ultra HD to 4:2:2 in the tv General settings menu but uncheck the Enable YCC 4:2:2 box in the Xbox settings menu. i use a HDMI 2.0b cable.

Hi,do you have some settings for 50pus6554/12? I'm going mad,only youtube looks good when watching hdr videos.
If I watch movies on netflix or play games on my ps4 pro it doesn't look good,not washed out but in dark scenes there is too much saturation and I lose details.

Hi. Do you know how i can set scart video to 4:3 aspect ratio? The only option that sets it to 4:3 is "original" but that makes the picture very tiny. Composite video does show up properly in 4:3.
How do you change the picture size
I tried these settings on my 49PUS6412/12 and it seems to be okay but how do i lock these settings? They get reset everytime you switch between styles.

Thank you, I just wanted to ask I've started to notice a green blur lower right of the screen. Do you think by using the settings you demonstrated it could change that. For some reason it seems to be more noticeable on skin and doesn't show on Materials, landscapes ect.

hello, just recieved my 6501. It has horrible "banding". Dark/shadow stripes..... Is this a common thing on this tv or....?
Hey man I'm a bit in a icky situation,
I have the 55" model, but I can't seem to find the HDR settings you have.
I've changed my ps4's hdmi to HDMI port 2, but that did not help at all.
I updated the firmware, but no result.
Can't seem to find anything online, could you perhaps guide me?

Me too, I am able (when I am watching HDR content on Netflix) to change the "picture style" to HDR Movie etc, but when I'm going to all setting I just see Movie, Vivid, Natural etc...... No HDR Movie no HDR vivid and so on.
Mind you I am using the 55PUS4601/12 model.

You can only change hdr settings when you are watching hdr content

KaamB great tv but if u are not going to watch blu rays or Netflix in 4K then you can get a bigger and cheaper tv with equal quality non 4K wise

I would use the ISF setting, anything else is just a gimmick.

These settings aren't specifically for the PS4 Pro but there's no harm in trying them and seeing what you think. In terms of HDMI inputs, HDMI 1 and 2 are HDCP 2.2 and support HDR, so use those for any HDCP 2.2 or HDR sources like the PS4 Pro or Sky Q if you have it. The HD tuner and MacBook you can connect to the other two HDMI inputs.

So I have Philips tv 4k and I am trying to play with my settings to get a perfect color and contrast and When i turn off "Dynamic Color" things look dull and when turned on, colors look more vivid, also on my PS4 (slim) model I changed my RGB to "full" and everything looked darker so i turned off. I can't find "game mode" on my 5000 series tv.
Dynamic color is best left unused. It does very weird things with darker colors. DEFINITELY leave of 'perfect natural motion' as well. It adds a lot of inputlag, and makes things like aiming reticles and subtitles dissapear whenever the screen is moving.

@@avforums But not for HDR? Having the contrast/backlight at 100 seems a bit excessive, and wouldn't it just look all washed out if you were watching at night?

Hi, i know this is a pretty old thread now but i have a 43pus6401 (very similar to the model reviewed here) and i noticed that ever since i enabled 'color enhancement' the picture gets an oversaturated blue tint, everything becomes blue'ish...is this normal? I like the pop effect that the rest of the colors produces in the image its just i don't like all that blue tint, is there any way around it? No matter if I use low, medium or high setting. And disabling it, leaves the colors with a yellowish tint that i don't like as much as the punchy colors when having the setting on. Please help. Thanks

Thanks for the tutorial. Sometimes the tv seems to forget the settings. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Does anyone else have this problem. I am running version QM16E.0.1.15.64 from October 16th.

Well it should detect HDR automatically, so I'm not sure what to suggest.

Did u search for an update? had the same problem but after updating tv that seems to have solve the problem. The tv was now recognising the HDR signal from the xbox one.

AVForums it's fixed. it was a whole different way i had no hdr option like u had sir but I did it in a other way and it worked somehow now everything is activated pretty weird but I'm glad it worked out

Connect the ps4 directly to the TV (HDMI 1 or 2) and the HDR will turn on automatically.
Even in the dashboard you'll get HDR, and in game you can turn it on or off.
Do u use hdmi 2.0 cable?
