ye its weird how there's been so much coverage on Rashford being cut from the England squad. He's never been a regular for England, I can't even think of many tournament games he's even started, apart from the Wales games at the world cup. Whereas sterling, who was dropped without hardly any media coverage, was a very important part of Southgates starting 11 for the 18 world cup and euro 20. It's really odd why anything Rashford related is piled on by the media, he's just an incredibly average player who was never a regular for England. Conor Coady was in two England squads too without contributing anything on the pitch, so maybe we should be relentlessly discussing his omission from the current squad too. That's how much of a loss Rashford is to the international scene

it’s not rocket science - rashford has been bad this season, and frankly, is overrated. his attitude also hasn’t been up to scratch, and there are players who play in a similar position who have had better seasons. and for the players who haven’t had good seasons by their standards and still got picked, like grealish, they get picked because of their attitudes, and the training standards they offer - especially like grealish at man city.
what about shaw, maguire and stones who havent played for most of the season?

Rashford has sat on his banknotes, Ronaldo didn’t, he continuously pushed himself, a real professional. Sad really.
He has been poor this season and there are consequences for that - but also remember that he was excellent last season so don't trash him too hard and say he is finished. As has always been the case with him, he has massive ability but it's the inconsistency that hurts him.

Rashford scored on his League Cup, League, Europa League, Champions League, England and then England U21 debuts. When he came on the scene he was special and a ballon d'Or was in his future.
Somehow, be it attitude or ability, he's never reached the level he should have. He has shown glimpses but only that. Glimpses, 5-10 games in a row and then a drop off.
He's been surrounded by a lot of half assed players; Lingard, Pogba, Sancho, Martial...
He's had a whirlpool of managers Ole, Rannick, Van Gaal, ETH, Jose, even Carrick (did he play under Moyes and Giggs).
There is a special player there but maybe he knows he isn't Mbappes equal like the media thought and now he realises it he's having a footballing career midlife crisis.
Maybe he does need a move. A fresh start could be ideal.

I'm not really for or against ETH getting the axe, but one advantage to bringing in a new manager is that it could give players like Rashford and Sancho to restart their careers/form under a new, more organized and energetic system. That said, I'd put MUCH more stock into Rashford bouncing back and having a good year next year vs. Sancho, as he's underperformed for years now.
