Curtis Jones is a much better player than Conor Gallagher. I really don't get why Jones is not being rated by English people, but I guess that's just the thing with Liverpool and being a scouser. Like, if a player like Trent doesn't even make the XI even though he's one of the best English players and probably the best ball player of all English players, that really says it all. Every other nation would take Trent in a heartbeat, and they'd even build their team around him, as he's young and has been world class since the age of 19. Ask Spain, Brazil, Germany and Portugal about Trent, and they'd all take him in their starting lineup. It's really on Southgate not making the team work with all that talent. For me, if England's starting lineup looked like this, they'd dominate so much more: Pickford (in lack of better keepers) Walker - Stones - Maguire/Gomez - Shaw Trent (8, playmaker) - Rice (6) - Jude (most advanced MF) Saka - Harry Kane - Foden/Gordon
For me the midfield 3 is Rice as the 6, Mainoo as the 8 and Bellingham in at 10. Bellingham is the best 10 in the world at the moment, Foden can play on the left and Saka on the right with kane through the middle. Pickford in goal, Back 4 of Shaw maguire stones walker. Maguire n stones have been so reliable for us. I would take Joe gomez as a utility defender, then Id take TAA, Konsa and Branthwaite, (Gomez can play Left back)
Good team. I would personally go for Walker ahead of Trent and maybe throw foden in, either for mainoo against weaker teams or on the left ahead of rashford (depending on the opposition and rashford’s form). Could also play Trent instead of mainoo and play either a 3-5-2 with Trent at rwb or a 4-3-3 with Trent in midfield depending on the match situation
Rory and Adam are 100% right about Maguire. Stop saying he’s never let England down, he’s had many a bad performance for the side and there are many better options than him because he is simply not good enough. He also has a massive mistake in him (which usually leads to a goal or good quality goal scoring chance) every 2 games.
The fact that Mount is even mentioned and Stones playing in midfield is even suggested is enough to completely disregard anything this panel says. Stones playing in midfield is not a cheat code. Stones playing in midfield UNDER PEP GUARDIOLA is a cheat code. And this is coming from a Real Madrid fan.
England doesn’t have a good centerback line up. But they din drop Gomez or Quansah names. These boys stepped up when Liverpool lost many key players to injuries. These two boys watch and learn from the best (VVD) on a daily basis.
The are missing the boat on Maguire... it's less about the mistakes he makes and more about that he can't play a high line. He's a good defender in a low block, winning aerials. He forces England to play a low block, but with the squad they have, they should be playing a high line.
@michaelgoldsmith9359 Why not? Man City does against PSG and they're 3W-1L-0D. They also play a high line against RM who have Vini. There are wingers in the prem that are about as fast as mbappe, and City (and now Arsenal) suffocates them with a high line, a high-intensity press, and enough speed to cover a through ball. England could have a starting XI of basically all City and Arsenal starters plus Jude and Kane.

Palmer, Bowen, Mainoo, Toney, and Gordon are all class players. I wouldn't hesitate to give all game time at the Euros, especially with 5 subs available. I would NOT take Madison, Maguire, Gallagher or Chilwell as I don't consider them to be top class.
Dont care what happens England as Im not from there but if you want a proper balanced midfield then it would be Rice, Jones and Bellingham, Rice in the 6, Jones in the 8 and Bellingham playing more attacking like he does for Madrid, that gives so much more balance and control. Liverpool have been much better when Jones plays in the 8. Up front I would play Foden left wing, Saka right and Kane through the middle.

@@scotttocs mainoo is better than elliot you know that deep down your just a bitter scouser still crying about last weekend 🤣plus he plays deeper a area where england aren't strong
I'm a Liverpool fan, and even I think Elliott is pushing it. Everywhere he plays, England has so much better. He's certainly not making it into the midfield with how stacked it is, and who's he going in over on the right wing? Saka and Bowen are so much better at this moment in time.

Jones is a good squad option to consider, and should be mentioned. But I'm not sure Elliott is even at honourable mention levels yet. Not because he isn't great, but because most his experience is as a 10, and there's at least 5 better choices than him.
@@SportsDude037 I think jones absolutely should get in, I think he should start next to rice. He brings a level of control and defensive discipline that England don’t have otherwise. He’s a top player. Gomez should be in the squad for sure . Yeah Elliot probably doesn’t get in.

Mason Mount , Jordan Henderson , Calvin Phillips ???? What are you guys smoking ? No Conor Gallagher or Curtis Jones ? Joe Gomez is the only English defender who gives you a CB , RB or LB option off the bench !
I couldn't believe they said that, assumed they must've been thinking it was Rice and laughed at the idea of putting him over Rodri, Salah, Haaland, De Bruyne, Odegaard, VVD, Saliba, Alisson... and then they said it was FODEN. And zero people on the entire panel even reacted, what a joke.
Not sure about the alternatives though. They are all very inexperienced at international level. Ideally you would want players to play most games in qualifying rather than throw them straight in at the tournament. I’m not sure the difference in ability between Maguire and other CBs outweighs the difference in experience Maguire has over them.
In what world does it make sense that an Irish fella on a video with English people talking about the England national team, made far more sense and better shouts than all the english people around him 😂😂😂
No curtis jones, no joe gomez, no gibbs-white, no tomori, no butland shows england is about comfort and not about challengin, look at these players stats and performances this season.
Has Maguire been bad for England? No, but he’s been nowhere NEAR good enough to be automatically selected. Another example to add to the list: him giving up a penalty against Germany.
What about Alfie Doughty at Left Wing Back? Look at the stats. He is far better than Chillwell. Luton Town are maybe not fashionable enough, even though they have scored more goals than Man Utd and most of them have been made by Doughty and Barkley.
I'm never going to understand this fixation on forcing Foden to play as a 10. Yes, it's his best position, but it's such a stacked position that him not playing there is inconsequential, and we have literally 0 in form left wingers. You have to balance the team composition, and we can't be having such a weak left wing. And again, Foden not playing as a 10 means either Maddison or Bellingham move there instead, so we lose nothing and gain so much.

For me, if England's starting lineup looked like this, they'd dominate so much more:
Pickford (in lack of better keepers)
Walker - Stones - Maguire/Gomez - Shaw
Trent (8, playmaker) - Rice (6) - Jude (most advanced MF)
Saka - Harry Kane - Foden/Gordon
My 23 man squad:
Pickford
Ramsdale
Johnstone
Trent
Walker
Konsa
Stones
Maguire
Branthwaite
Gomez
Shaw
Rice
Mainoo
Bellingham
Foden
Maddison
Gallagher
Palmer
Saka
Gordon
Rashford
Watkins
Kane
The bar behind makes it look like the boys are debating in the house of commons 😂
Callum Wilson even gets a cursory mention but nothing for Solanke? Arguably the best English striker in the league? Good god 😂
I would take Joe gomez as a utility defender, then Id take TAA, Konsa and Branthwaite, (Gomez can play Left back)
Everyone's talking over one another. Unwatchable
MAINOO IS CLEAR OF THEM ALL
You should decide if you are guessing who will Southgate take or if you are deciding as fans who should go and vote on it
The undeniable best starting XI:
Ramsdale;
Alexander-Arnold
Stones
Maguire
Shaw;
Bellingham
Rice
Mainoo;
Saka
Kane
Rashford
Idk about Harry Maguire tbh, but this mostly looks good. What options do we have at CB?
No
Pickford
Walker
Stones
Jared
Anyone
Rice
Mainoo
Bellingham
Saka/Foden/Palmer
Kane
Rashford/Gordon or shoe-horn Maddison, Foden in there.
Not gonna play a high line Vs mbappe in international football.
Pickford
Ramsdale
Butland
Walker
Trent
Stones
Maguire
Braithwaite
Gomez
Shaw
Konsa
Bellingham
Rice
Maddison
Foden
Saka
Kane
Rashford
Watkins
Palmer
Gallagher
Maino
Gordon
23 man squad 3 minutes into the video and rory says its 26. no joke guys thats enough to make people click off the video and not watch it because you know this video is now inept if your choosing more players and losing crucial debates out…it acc pissed me off idk why. do better how does it pass editing that let alone how do u so called ‘ball knowledge experts’ not clock that between you guys
Really wish they filmed this after the England games
Trippier has joint most assists in the league what do you mean he’s not playing good?
Liverpool don't exist apparently. Gomez, Jones, Elliot.. Players like Elliot and Jones with Bellingham, Foden, Trent, Rice and Saka is a great.
Foden the best player? Based off what, Rory does just say things to fit his narrative at the time haha
How can you not mention Anthony Gordon 😂
Adam knows. Toney >> Watkins
Anyone who thinks Foden is even a top 5 player in the Premier League is utterly deluded.
Isn't it 23 man squads this Euros?
Dont care what happens England as Im not from there but if you want a proper balanced midfield then it would be Rice, Jones and Bellingham, Rice in the 6, Jones in the 8 and Bellingham playing more attacking like he does for Madrid, that gives so much more balance and control. Liverpool have been much better when Jones plays in the 8.
Up front I would play Foden left wing, Saka right and Kane through the middle.
I don't watch Premier league that much but even I am gobsmacked by some of the picks you guys come up with even lower than Southgate level.
Phil Foden is a system midfielder. 33 Caps for England. 4 Goals. He's not it.
Honestly think Rashford, Saka, Maddison & Trent all start over Foden in attack and midfield.
You're on drugs. Rashford? Watch football and get off social media.
Sam Johnstone? Fantastic young keeper? 31 year old Sam Johnstone? Is there another one I don’t know about
Rashford should be nowhere near this team.
you know nothing i assume you think foden and saka should start on the wings haha,
Kane needs pace around him
I think kobbie had an impressive first 2 games despite the results
Konsa has done more than enough and provides cover for right back
Southgate hasn't done badly to get England to the final of the Euros, and semis of the WC, although he's not the most creative Manager.
Rory has an incredible skill of chatting absolute rubbish with complete confidence
I’m here after Rory’s recent SOUTHGATE OUT! video 😂
WTF!! Phillips over Loftus-Cheek?? 🤦♂️
Rory saying he’ll back Southgate from now on, and going on to hate Southgate throughout 2 hours and 15 minutes of the live stream of the 2-2 Belgium game…😂😂😂
16.30 Rory's favorite player was Mason Mount for 3 years and now he think he is rubbish. He changes his opinion everyday😂😂😂
Pickford, Pope, Johnstone
Walker, Shaw, Chilwell, James
Maguire, Stones, Colwill, Guéhi
Rice, Gallagher, TAA
Bellingham, Foden, Saka, Elliot, Rashford, Palmer
Kane, Watkins
Maddison/Jones/Gordon/Grealish(I would over Rashford)/Toney/Wilson
Elliot your a Liverpool fan aren't you😂
@aaronking2369 indeed but he is a good squad player and has a proven record unlike Mainoo for example.
@@scotttocs mainoo is better than elliot you know that deep down your just a bitter scouser still crying about last weekend 🤣plus he plays deeper a area where england aren't strong
No Gomez, Curtis Jones, or Harvey Elliott even as a possible shout is insane.
I'm a Liverpool fan, and even I think Elliott is pushing it. Everywhere he plays, England has so much better. He's certainly not making it into the midfield with how stacked it is, and who's he going in over on the right wing? Saka and Bowen are so much better at this moment in time.
@@DannyHodge95yea I definitely get that. That’s why I said “possible shouts”. I don’t think Elliott or Jones get in but their performances are worth a mention in this discussion, especially with who else they mentioned in the video. Gomez I think is pretty obvious with his performances and versatility.
@@SportsDude037 I completely agree that Gomez needs to be in this conversation as a starter, it's criminal that he's being left out of squads.
This has to be the funniest comment in this section
Three half decent players that only play because Liverpool are riddled with injuries and suddenly they should be in the England team 😂
If your taking Rashford for pace why not take Gordon, has had a great season and he actually tracks back so gives bellingham the freedom to stay forward
24 hrs later Rory made a video saying sack Southgate lmao
Mason Mount , Jordan Henderson , Calvin Phillips ???? What are you guys smoking ? No Conor Gallagher or Curtis Jones ? Joe Gomez is the only English defender who gives you a CB , RB or LB option off the bench !
Joe Gomez? He’s been outstanding this year abs he can play a number of positions?
sam johnstone is a fantastic 31 year old young keeper
The best player in the Premier League is definitely not english
I couldn't believe they said that, assumed they must've been thinking it was Rice and laughed at the idea of putting him over Rodri, Salah, Haaland, De Bruyne, Odegaard, VVD, Saliba, Alisson... and then they said it was FODEN. And zero people on the entire panel even reacted, what a joke.
foden is clear one of the best players this season. the fcity are close to a title race when haaland and KDB have been injured is him. @@skseanknight
@@skseanknighthalaand is technically English
@@mr-ov5gt Cool, Southgate will definitely be picking him then
Unfortunately none of the elite players are defenders, and it's the defence that is England's biggest problem.
I’m glad I bought these ear plugs that I can easily put in the millisecond buvey opens his mouth
😂
Mainoo goes, and probably starts. He is a special player.
Maguire should be no where near the team
Guess we need him just for the backup though he shouldn’t start every game
Not sure about the alternatives though. They are all very inexperienced at international level.
Ideally you would want players to play most games in qualifying rather than throw them straight in at the tournament.
I’m not sure the difference in ability between Maguire and other CBs outweighs the difference in experience Maguire has over them.
He shouldn't be but Southgate will probably make him assistant manager
@@JimmySands-pd7xt people mention inexperienced. How are they meant to be experienced if they’re not allowed to play because they’re inexperienced 😂😂
You should've recorded this after the friendlies
In what world does it make sense that an Irish fella on a video with English people talking about the England national team, made far more sense and better shouts than all the english people around him 😂😂😂
Hate to break it to you. It's 23. 26 players was an increase for COVID.
I liked the bit where one of them talked over the other
how foden gets labelled as the best prem player is beyond me. he’s never done shit for england.
These guys made southgate look good...
No curtis jones, no joe gomez, no gibbs-white, no tomori, no butland shows england is about comfort and not about challengin, look at these players stats and performances this season.
Why does nobody mention Harvey Elliot as an option?
The way they are suckin grealish to start is crazy! What in the actual fuck
Lol no mention of Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez or Ward Prowse
Does rory understand what a holding midfielder is? 😂 gallagher or maddison as a 6 is laughable
Can’t believe there was no outrage at the suggestion of Gallagher as a lone DM if Rice is injured 😂
Has Maguire been bad for England? No, but he’s been nowhere NEAR good enough to be automatically selected. Another example to add to the list: him giving up a penalty against Germany.
After the man of the match performance yesterday some of these takes on Mainoo have aged like milk
Kalvin phillips who can’t start for west ham is preferred over an inform mainoo? Wtf are they even on about
Adam spot on about Maguire. Time to get him out the squad. Stones, Tomori, Colwill, White, Konsa.
colwill is rubbish
Ben White isn’t going to the Euros, Branthwaite fits better anyways as another left-footer to deputise for Colwill
Maguire has been englands best defender in the past three tournaments. Also, did you really just mention colwill and tomori lol😂😂😂😂😂
What about Alfie Doughty at Left Wing Back? Look at the stats. He is far better than Chillwell. Luton Town are maybe not fashionable enough, even though they have scored more goals than Man Utd and most of them have been made by Doughty and Barkley.
Lol Rory thinks you could play a midfield three out of Bellingham Maddison, foden and Gallagher (four no.10s)
That K league joke is underrated
Haven't watched it but guessing Rory puts in Gallagher, Sterling & Palmer
The best person at bullshitting is Rory.
