  • I gotta say, I'm actually relieved. I have been working on this thing for a month not knowing how the xo-fab hybrid cage was going to work on the jeep mj, given that it is designed to go on the jeep xj. now that the front is done and the halo is adjusted forward, I can piece together what's left of the 1 3/4 dom tube from the kit to build the rear section of the cage.
I wanted to make this part removable so the bed can come off should I ever need to replace it. It also needed to be part of the structure of the whole truck. tying the cage into the coil spring mounts in the rear accomplished just that. hope you like the video. enjoy.

Thank you! I'm having a blast. I'll never stop if I can afford it 👍🏻

One of the reasons why your A pillar is more "forward" than a Cherokee is the roof line of the Comanche is much higher than a Cherokee. Looks good!

Also... Cover your glass!! The sparks from welding and grinding will pit it. Cleanup with windex and a razor blade to scrape off the welding balls now melted into the glass. Been there, still smacking my head over it.

@AttwoodsGarage I gotta replace that one anyway 🙄. Figured it would be smart to do it last. Crazy to think of glass melting, tho, it is a liquid technically.

I didn't realize the hight difference between the two. After modifying the seat, I can imagine trying to fit a Cherokee. I guess you can lean back to compensate. I still need to drop an inch if I want to wear a bump helmet. All part of the adventure I suppose.

Why I like my "long door" build. My son has a Comanche and he's a bit shorter than I so I have my knees in the dash.. But yeah the Cherokee has a lower roofline, about an inch lower.

The only difference i would want to do is go from the halo bar down to the frame instead of thecross bars. The halo bar could be a catch point if you ever need to back up leaned on a tree or rock. Otherwise i love all the other mods. Removable cage is perfect.

You could totally do that. I'm thinking of adding more tube to the outside so the b- pillars will be welded to both the frame on the inside and sliders on the outside to protect my corners.
Thank you, I wanted to be able to take the bed off 😁

@BlackAndBlueGarage I seen in your next video you put a 90ish degree bent tube that would work pretty well. And you still could use the clamps to take the rear bars off. Defiantly like the ideas tho

@@rcmike09 we can only get better right? The first time you do anything should have the worst results 👌🏻
