    I was lucky enough to be part of the field testing group for this. This is easily the best watch for the price…and 100% competes with a lot of more expensive watches. I have an Apex 2 Pro and now find myself using the Pace 3 as my daily watch instead. The heart rate monitor is, by far, the most accurate on any watch I’ve ever used (Apple Watch, Garmin Fenix 7 & Forerunner). It was always spot on with my chest strap. The screen is crisper and the dial is more responsive than my other Coros watches. I never had any issues at all with GPS tracking either. Overall, just unbeatable value in my opinion.

    • @NYyankee02
      @NYyankee02 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right now I’m using Strava and Poalr H10 chest heart rate monitor, so I get a map and HRM would like a watch and more lace and tracking capabilities. Can you convince me to use a watch? I feel like I would still end up carrying phone somehow although I don’t like holding phone all the time

    • @jasontwoo
      @jasontwoo ปีที่แล้ว

      I have an Apex Pro, is it much brighter and crisper, I know the HR must be much more accurate? I am debating between Apex 2 or 2 Pro or Coros Pace 3. I do not think I will need the TOPO maps I wonder how much HRV gives you?

    • @15KJ
      @15KJ ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NYyankee02The watch will give you what you already have, but all in one place/app. No need to worry about the HRM or Strava when you can do both in one location. If you’re looking for your first GPS watch, this is easily the best option. Everything you need, nothing you don’t…at a reasonable price tag

    • @15KJ
      @15KJ ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@jasontwooI have an Apex 2 Pro and the screen on the Pace 3 definitely looks crisper to me. Especially when outside and glancing down at your wrist. I personally don’t use maps all that often either. HRV is an interesting metric that I keep track of but only as an FYI (it doesn’t change my behavior or anything). I would say it comes down to the build materials you want. If you want a more premium feel/look, go with the Apex 2/Pro because of the metal case. But if you don’t care about that, Pace 3 is more than enough.

    What we perceive we need versus what we actually need: I think I remember you talking about this about a year or so ago. At $229, the pace 3 is exactly what most people need. For me, it’s a very tempting AWU alternative watch, something to take on longer trips or runs. I’d look at this before an Epix Pro due to features you get for the price. That’s just a steal!

      How does it measure heart rate throughout the day, I heard somewhere it does this at something like 10 minute intervals outside of activities? Is this true and can it be set to measure at higher intervals like every minute for example when sleeping? I'm thinking about things like sleep apnea, 10 minute interval might not be enough to notice some spikes.

    Looks like a solid upgrade. I've still got my old Coros pace 2, it was my first proper running watch, although my main daily driver is now a Garmin Epix Gen 2. Overall I prefer Garmin's multi-sport ecosystem, though Evolabs is improving all time, and I think if you just want to stick to running, in some ways it is superior to Garmin's. Another thing I've found was the optical heart season on the pace 2 was rock solid for me where as on Epix it is terrible especially during intervals. The only retrograde step here is the removal of Ant+ sensor support. The great advantage of Ant+ is once you connect a device using Ant+ it stays connected.

    Ok, so I can get a Place 3 for the same price as a Fenix 6. I am not a hard-core athlete, but I do like the looks of the Fenix. heart rate and GPS accuracy are kind of important to me, but not dealbreakers. Just not sure if the old technology that probably will not be supported much longer would be worth it versus the new technology. I have some history in the Garmin ecosystem, but I can always change. I know it’s a tough question, but help?

    I can't see Garmin selling the Forerunner 265 for 470 Euro any longer. That watch is way overpriced, despite the nice display. Hopefully Garmin reacts in some way. The Forerunner 55 is still using Garmins old and much more inaccurate sleep tracker. Also, it lacks a LOT of sports profiles, like strength training. It's not a real competitor to the Pace 3. The Pace 3 seems more on par in terms of features with the Forerunner 255, which costs more and lacks a touchscreen (for whoever likes it).

    Congratulations on the video, I wanted to ask you something since I bought the pace 3.
    During training I set the automatic lap every km, but if I then do manual lap the next lap sounds 1km after the manual one (1.5km - 2.5km).
    Instead I would like it to continue beeping every km (1-2-3km) as it did with my polar and then in the summary at the end of the workout check the automatic lap and the various manual laps.
    Is there this possibility of setting the clock? Because I can't find it. Thanks.

    Once you had Amoled you can't go back to PIP. I will stick to my Cheetah Round, same price, lower accuracy (mostly in elevation). My eyes are not getting better and with Pace 2 I was struggling to read anything on that screen during workouts. Another downsize would be the focus Coros puts into running metrics neglecting Cycling, Swimming and other sports.

Waiting for mine to arrive :) Also considered the FR255 but I don't really need the music or lifestyle frills, plus it does cost a bit more. Question: how's the readability like on the Pace 3? Hello Dave! I'm reaching out from Greece, currently deliberating between the Coros Pace 3 and the Garmin Forerunner 255. Could you provide insights into their heart rate accuracy, helping me decide which one would be a better choice?

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both are great options. I'd say the 255 has more wellness tools like body battery and more advanced sleep/recovery tracking. The Pace 3 has better battery life and I'd say feels a bit more "utilitarian" and simpler to use. If you like gadgets and extra's go for Garmin. If you just want a simple tool to track runs and workouts go COROS.

    cant think other useful wifi usage as you wont be downloading fw too frequently anyway, and updating gps files just takes seconds using the BT+app.

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      945 is still a great watch. The sad reality about all smartwatches is battery degradation after 2-3 years. You'll likely see a 5-10% drop in performance and it will get worse as time goes on. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it's drastically different. Upgrading is a personal choice... I can't make that for you but 3-5 years seems average.
