Ordered one of these last night and this has been the best video I’ve found explaining to me all the features! Thanks for taking the time to make it, I’ll subscribe for sure
This company is simply amazing. They already made the default watch face of the Pace 3 available for Pace 2 users! So cool!! 🤗 Great review as always! 🤩
Yeah! Coros is great about updating older models. There are some activities that are new to the Pace 3 that are also getting back ported to the Pace 2 as well. 🙌 Good job COROS!!!
Coros is doing things right ✔️✔️✔️ They will sell a lot of Pace 3s. The Pace series are becoming the reference is this price range. For a company that only started in 2018 if I'm not mistaken, they are doing a fantastic job!
I've been very impressed with the company as a whole. I think their customer service is good. They back port software. They seem to care about the sports that they're involved in and they make solid watches. Bravo COROS 👏🏻
I bought a Suunto 9 Peak for €211 on August 12. Impeccable tracks in open water swimming, beautiful design, but I returned it after three unexpected restarts. I was going to buy another 9 Peak, but seeing that Coros was going to release the Pace 3, I wanted to see your review first. Thanks Matt!
Sorry it took me a little bit to get this review put together and out the door. It was a bit later than I wanted but it’s a great watch and I wanted to do it justice. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
The value of the pace series is amazing. I get why this is the watch of choice for serious runners. Yes, the features are amazing for the price, but the fact it is so small, light, and comfortable is the real highlight of the series. (This is where I actually wanted to post this 😂)
That YT mix up was super weird. I wonder what happened there. But yes, I agree. This is an amazing watch for the price. Thanks for posting this here. 👍
nah its not the watch of choice for serious runners. Its the watch of choice for runners who need to stick to a budget. There are many higher end options that provide more
That would be very very interesting. I think their market it ultra runners. It seems like cycling would be a hard switch. They'd have to do something very unique and usable. 🤔
@@mlegrand TRUE, they know running and do it well. As fan of tech, I'd like to see more feature rich, affordable options for other sports. How come runners get to have all the fun?!
I would love that to. I would like to see something that das all the heart monitoring and the usual Coros interface but is also connected to the power meter AND a display in my Cockpit
Matt, I’m planning to get the Pace 3 for my son who’s in the military. He mainly wants a sport watch for tracking his runs and he’s currently not on any platform (Apple, Garmin, COROS, etc) so in his case - the Pace 3 should be perfect. I also think your point of restating the Pace 3’s price several times is warranted: considering the Pace 3’s $229 price tag vs the AW Ultra’s $799 price tag, the Pace 3’s performance is outstanding!! Great video!! Thank you Matt!
It was a little much wasn't it. When editing, it starts to get a bit repetitive. Probably could have gotten away with one less reminder. 😉 Thanks for all of the support here with this channel Chris! I really appreciate it.
I now have Pace 2 for over 2 years. It's impressive to see what changed by the time. From simple "find my phone" feature to turn-by-turn navigation - something you're not used to seeing at this price tag. The app is leaping forward as well, although seeing my wife's Garmin app, it is still better, in my opinion, but I root for Coros as it gets closer with each update. The only downside for me was that no one in Europe could fix the broken screen. I would have to send it to the US for repair, which is close to buying a new Pace. But this information is from around a year ago. They may provide services in Europe now. Apart from the little chip from the stone, the plastic body holds up bravely through MTB and landscaping. I'm impressed with the value. 👍
Wow, both MTB and landscaping would be a good durability testing. Glad the Pace 2 has held up well. I've been a huge fan of that device and this Pace 3 is impressing me as well. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand Yeah, I tested it more than I would like to on the MTB 😁 Also thanks for your reviews! I'm always checking them when on the market for a new watch.
I just ran a 10k and most all the “serious” runners seemed to have this watch interesting. Maybe it’s the size. But it was def the most popular I observed.
Great video! I’ve been lucky enough to be using this device as part of a beta test group for the last month or so, and I’m super impressed. I have been using it along side my apex 2 pro and Garmin 955, and the accuracy is super impressive, I love how you barely feel it on your wrist. It has quickly become my daily driver
Ok, so you've had it significantly longer than I have. I agree that the watch is a wonderful feather weight and might be a favorite for some of the true hardcore runners out there. I'm guessing Kipchoge for example! 😂
@@TheValonquar in my experience not at all. I will say I generally run by feel or HR more than pace, but in my testing the pace was right on with my Apex Pro 2 and Garmin 955
@@TheValonquarI’ve got the Pace2 and picked up the Pod2 to get fast accurate pace data…that and I run around skyscrapers in the city often, so wanted accurate pace, distances and times in those gps challenging environments. For the most part, the Pace 2 on its own was good. Just on every few runs there’d be a section where it might loose track of me…but it was under large overpasses or really tall buildings. Works great with the Pod2, pace data gets to the watch fast and my splits are accurate, so I’m happy with the purchase.
I actually just got my Pace 3. I previously wore the original Apex, and while it may be a downgrade in product line, it's a huge improvement in features. Looking forward to logging lots of miles with it.
COROS Pace, and Pace 2 have been excellent with quick locking on to satellites, accuracy on the roads... They have added new features to the watch via updated firmware, at least for the Pace. I assume the newer models too. My Garmins were all fine, but the battery life and ease of use of my COROS watches have exceeded them!
I'm glad to hear that you're liking the COROS Pace devices. I love the value that this particular watch provides. It's actually my favorite COROS watch for that reason. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I really think you'll enjoy it. I liked the Pace 2 and am really impressed by the Pace 3. It's interesting. I think I like this series from Coros more than their other options because it's such a good value watch. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
You’re welcome. I also like Garmin watches but glad I was helpful in some small way with your decision. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Coros just prepared 1200 pace3 and it's out of stock everywhere! Hope they could produce more and ship to Australia as soon as possible. Absolutely buy one as a dual watch setup for daily training with my AWU.
Interesting. The battery life will be longer on the Pace 3 but the AWU can do a lot of stuff with it's limited time. 🤷♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
COROS currently does not have a drill mode or a way to track kick sets. I haven't tested this watch for open water swimming but COROS has not tested well in my past open water tests. Rumors are that COROS is working on some drill mode type features for swimming. I'd love to see it. 🙌
Another comment for the algorithm... and the introduction of your videos are getting amazing!! Very well produced Sir 👏👏👏 Keep up the good work... it is VERY appreciated 🎉
I appreciate any help I can get with the YT algorithm. It's a funny beast and typically entry level watches don't get as much love from YT as something big and fancy. Thanks Sinasi!
I can’t believe someone once complained about the ‘over’ production😂 they probably still have a cathode TV, or they are the same person that complained the 965 was too bright🫢
after looking for watches for a few weeks now the pace 3 is a good contender, but i feel like the Garmin FR 255 is worth it for me more for the ecosystem, ant+ and some other features for the price differenece. in some online shops the diff is just around 30-50euros.
Dual frequency GPS isn't a silver bullet for accuracy. I have seen Coros Pace 2 paired with Coros POD 2, in an area with short tunels, be more accurate than Coros Vertix 2. On the other hand I saw Garmin 255 in the same area with even better accuracy.
100% agree. I think it has a lot to do with the antenna design and the algorithm that parses out any bad data. Garmin and Apple seem to have been crushing it lately. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Matt - your videography is second to none. Your intros are beautiful! I’ve had the Pace 2 for coming on three years, and it has been a fabulous fitness watch. That I just received turn by turn upgrades on a three year old watch is bonkers. The optical HR accuracy has always been a downside for the P2 - even with running (cycling it’s a complete mess) I found it very hit and miss. I think that’s the real value-add on the Pace 3, but that’s because my anal retentive nature manifests more strongly on heart rate than GPS. The challenge for Coros with their existing users is that the Pace 2 is such a mind blowing value that if you’re going to upgrade, you’re probably going to want more features, and the FR255 seems like a bigger set up in features and accuracy. The Pace series is for the value minded customers, and I don’t think the delta is big enough to upgrade from the Pace 2 to Pace 3 (at least for me). In terms of the watch band, I have both the nylon and silicone, and I really like the look of the silicone. It can pass in a work setting and it has infinite settings for a good fit. Garmin’s bands on budget watches look cheap by comparison. One thing I think you forgot to mention is that the Pace 3 added a trail running setting. I miss having that on the Pace 2. Dave at CTS said it was ported to the P2 in the latest firmware upgrade but I don’t have it.
Yes, there's a few activity types that are getting ported back to the Pace 2 eventually. Trail Running, Hiking, Skiing, Snowboard, XC Ski. I love Dave's channel. He does such a good job at Chase the Summit. Thank you so much for the kind words about the videography!!!
I need a watch that has dual time zones. UTC in particular. I like the watch but I’m going to have to return it unless someone can tell me how I can add UTC to a watch face or a widget.
I haven’t seen that as an option. It’d be nice if a second time zone was an option as a watch face complication to scroll through with the back button and then the up and down scroll wheel. 🛞
Does it have round trip routing feature like garmin ? When you only put in milage and it makes a route that takes you back to your start position again ?
Unfortunately it does not have the same level of routing features that the Garmins have. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

For the price I think it brings a lot of value. I am wondering how the features work. Like: OWS, swim, bike, running workouts, saved running routes, and sleep tracking. I am considering the Garmin FR 255 & 955. Do you think these are better watches? For that price point, I think the Coros Pace 3 is hard to beat. I wish it was just a little cheaper, tbh. Though I do like the new features and upgrades on the Pace 3. ⌚️
I do think the 255 and 955 are better watches. But it comes at a higher price. The Pace 3 does the basics well but the newer Garmin watches really dive into how you slept and how that might effect your day. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you figure out which way to go. It's a tricky call.
Thanks so much Jonny! I always like to have a lower priced device that I can suggest to people that doesn't break the bank. I think this is that watch. 👌
@@mlegrand mostly just running for now but doing cross training like lifting weights. I'm looking to do a marathon next year and am focusing primarily on building up my aerobic fitness and endurance and slowly incorporating speed training.
@@TriageReflex - Forerunner 165. It's a really great watch. I'm wearing one right now. I just need to get my butt in gear and make a review video about it. 👍
Just fyi, I am a runner and swimmer. The swimming metrics are fine but not really detailed as they are with a Garmin Swim 2. The Garmin is good for swimming but, as with other Garmin watches, the battery has to be recharged after one day. The Coros watch provides enough swimming metrics to satisfy your basic needs, if you’re not a competitive swimmer. I am so I wear both.
I think the big thing is a drill mode so if you swim a kick set or drill set you’d still get the correct swim distance. I have a lot of Garmin device but can’t think of one that only has 24 hour battery life. Maybe you’re thinking of Apple? I have one Garmin that’ll go a month and a few that’ll go for about a week. A lot of it comes down to the display technology. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Most modern Garmin watches absolutely do not have to be charged after one day-more like 5 days minimum (I typically get 10 with my Forerunner 165). How far are you swimming?
Does the coros use a combination of XT, cycling and running to calculate base fitness/perforamnce? something I hate about my garmin is that I do a lot of XT on the arc trainer/elliptical and bike to supplement my running but only GPS outdoor runs affect its “fitness” level! Also does it use treadmill as well as outdoor runs to calculate VO2max? That annoys me about garmin too! And last question, how accurate is the treadmill?
From what I can tell, it seems to mostly calculate base fitness scores like VO2 max from running and cycling. (with a more of a lean towards running) Every treadmill is different. I've found many of them to be very inaccurate. The Indoor Running activity type is also very inaccurate. There are some nice tools that will measure the movement of the belt to give you a much more accurate account of pace and distance but it might not be feasible to use those things on a gym treadmill. 🤷♂️ Best of luck with training Lauren!
Saw the legs in the intro and thought "Those canNOT be Matt's legs??" HA! (tell your wife!) The nylon bands...do they get to smell funky over time? RUNNING POWER!? (that was said in a dramatic voice) Man, you are exact with your guesstimates! Is that wallpaper behind you? The HR data does look good! You are so helpful in your reviews and really up front. I love that. My watch updated firmware (don't ask if it is beta or the stock upgrades- I have no idea!), but it classifies rides now. At least I think it does...it told me today was "threshold" which I think is unbelievably cool. Say...while I have your attention. High school level athlete wants to better monitor recovery and efforts. What's his best watch option? This one, with the lack of HRV, doesn't seem like it is it. Garmin 255? If he doesn't like to charge things, step up to the instinct 2S (I could be making up that naming) but the newest instinct? The 255 and Instinct are pretty similar, minus the battery difference, right? Thanks for being our guiding light
Yes, I think you’re right to be looking at the 255 or Instinct 2. That wood paneling behind me is real. I put it a while back and it’s kind of fun but typically it’s out of focus so you don’t really see it.
Love the Pace 3, but as a triathlete that trains indoors on platforms like Zwift, without ANT+ this watch is a no go unfortunately. Awesome, awesome racing watch but I just can't understand why Coros did not add ant+. Until power meters broadcast multiple Bluetooth transmissions, a watch without ANT+ is a step back since you can't pair the watch and a tablet at the same time.
Right. ANT+ is amazing for it's ability to connected to any number of devices. I do think it requires an additional chipset so I expect less and less manufactures to support it in the future. I bet we'll see multiple bluetooth channels as an option for more hardware going forward. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@slevinkalevra true, but I need the powermeter part not the heart rate. My power meters all have Bluetooth and ANT+. Bluetooth to the tablet and ant+ to the watch. Without an ANT+ watch I have to choose to either send the blte to the tablet or the watch. Not both. It's a no go. 4iiii Viiiiva heart rate transmitterhas the ability to convert the ant+ to Bluetooth and vice versa. But it's just so nice to also have ant+ on a device.
I have the Garmin 965/Epix pro gen 2 51mm....but for some reason i just keep going back to the pace 3....really is just the perfect watch for running, its not trying to be anything but a running watch which is why i like it 😊
Good call Mark! It's a very simple lightweight device. Perfect for our very simple sport! Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
She is a lucky lady. I love that watch. You’ll love the Pace 3. Eventually. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
It's always a little hard to tell when using this device. I didn't actually put it up directly against the Pace 2. Heart rate lag looked normal for an optical heart rate sensor to me. Coros does make a pod for faster pace adjustements but I tend not to use it.
Very beautiful watch! I chose to buy a 7 months old Forerunner 255 Music for 250$. The music providers is a bit of an issue for me but above all the Garmin watches user experience seems more advanced. Thank you for the video!
I wish there was a watch that only showed current pace. The complicated stuff makes me not want to buy one. Is there a way to set either the coros or garmins up like this?
You could probably do that on a Garmin but I don’t see an easy way to do that on the Coros Pace 3. I’d just keep in mind that all GPS watches won’t show that pace instantly. It takes a little time. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
It's a great watch however in Canada after tax you pay a little over $400 to get this watch. At that price I wish it was a bit sturdier with amoled screen. I cannot read the watch in bright daylight.
Yeah, that's tricky. At that price it's no longer a super amazing value option. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Hello, please let me know if this Coros Pace 3 without any accessories can show me real-time running metrics like cadence and stride length during my road running workout? If yes, can I bring these numbers to the main screen so I can take a look at them quickly while running. I would like to improve my form. Tks
Verry nice video! Coming from a 4 year old Garmin instinct and i think you made me warm for the pace 3. My Garmin measure every sec my heart beat. Dos the Coros pace 3 also do that? And what did you think about the ECG function? This is a very complete watch so i see. Thnx for the video
No ECG and it takes fewer HR reading throughout the day. That’s one of the ways it saves battery life. I am a huge fan of the Instinct series. The 2 and 2X were excellent. I am hopeful that Garmin will release an Instinct 3 in the near future. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand Thnx for your time, good to know and battery of my garmin istinct(4 years old) is still going for 2/3 weeks with 3 time gps sport in the week. Maybe i will wait for the instinct 3...Have a good summer
@@mlegrand Thnx, almost ordered this watch because the website told me it has ECG. Already send back a iwatch 8, instinct 2 solar, forerunner 165. Did not found anything better than the first instinct in that price range. Nice review , is see you put a lot of time in it!
I'm used to it also. I really enjoy the morning report on my Garmin. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@DarkPa1adin heart rate variability is the variability of heart beats one to the next . Higher numbers are better and indicate lower stress and better recovery from training. If you get sick or train to hard your variability will be low .
Hi, did you have any issues with display brightness? Just got the watch and really like the feel of it (haven’t worked out with it yet), but think the dimness of the display is going to be an issue even with raise to brighten and back light adjustments. Possible Coros might update allowing for greater control of display brightness? I’d be willing to sacrifice a couple days of battery for this. Thanks.
Good question Stephen. They actually made this watch brighter than the Pace 2. 🤷♂️ I think if you're used to an AMOLED display, these MIP displays are always going to feel dark to you. They do look good under direct sunlight if that helps 😬 Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Most of its reviews are relatively glowing , so this could simply be an "I’m getting older moment" for me. Plan B is a Garmin 255, a watch you’ve spoken highly of. I know it’s not AMOLED, but you think that’d have a brighter screen? Thanks for quick reply. Really enjoy your channel🖖🏼@@mlegrand
The 255 and Pace 3 don't have mapping but do have navigation. It's a subtle difference. Thanks Alberty for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand that’s what I’m thinking about. I’m wondering if the maps are worth it or if the bread crumb trails are good enough. I’m getting into hiking and trail running and I do gym workouts.

Hello, sorry for the English. All your videos are fantastic. After seeing the review you did of the Amazfit Cheetah Pro I had made the decision to buy it, but now I have seen the Coros Pace Pro and I have a doubt. There is something that really attracts me to the Cheetah as opposed to the Pace 3, and that is the Amoled screen, size and resolution, but there are qualities that are very important such as: GPS and heart rate and personal trainer. What do you think would be the best choice? Do you plan to make a comparison between these watches and even some Polar, Garmin or Suunto in the same price range? Thank you.
I don't have any plans to compare the two but I'd lean towards the Pace 3 as long as you're ok with the smaller size. There's tons of deals to be had as we head into the holiday season. I would also consider the Garmin Forerunner 255 if it is on sale. It's an amazing watch.
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it. The other option to look into is the new Garmin Forerunner 165. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

This is downloaded mp3s only. I'm guessing that there are ways to pull mp3s from Apple Music but I don't think it's going to be the smoothest process for moving songs on and off of this device easily.
Hi! I'm sold on this watch for my first GPS/running watch! But I'm stuck between the nylon band vs silicone... any worries about how long the Velcro/nylon will last?
Hard call but I’d say 255s. It’s a bit more full featured in my opinion. Personally I love the morning report and sleep details. It’s something I’m personally working to improve. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

Does anyone know if this watch at least just connects to your phone for basic Music Control? I can stream music from my phone. I just want to be able to navigate my playlist and control from the watch itself.
I played around with this a bit and didn't see a simple way to do this. I'd reach out to COROS and ask. You can play .mp3s on this device but I don't see ways to control the music playing on your phone. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Great question. I think if I could get the forerunner 255 at the exact same price, I'd pick the 255. I kind of mention the 255 towards the end of this video. I love the morning reports on the 255 but some people have complained a little bit about the buttons being a little sticky. Thanks for hanging out on the channel Chris!
Almost always the 255. Quality over quantity of functions. The 255 will be more accurate in many cases. On the other hand, with routes/navigation on the pace 3 has more features and you have a bigger chance of getting updates with more functionality. But the 255 is more accurate, on many levels more refined and has the build quality to last a year of 7 to 10.
Well, had this since launch (Pace 2 before that) and today I returned to Garmin FR. Too many times spent cursing the HRM on the Pace3 (not as many as Pace2). Sleep tracking sucks. No HRV. No real tracking of any sort that is meaningful or applied to recovery and training EXCEPT training itself. I fully understand the appeal and love the interface simplicity and the *price*.... But in my opinion, you do get what you pay for.... and after the better part of a year with Coros I really was feeling like they were $200 watches.
I am relatively new when it comes to running watches. I ran a couple 5K’s, two half marathons, and completed my first full marathon this November. Would you recommend the pace 3 for a first-time running watch? And how does it perform in strength training sessions?
I would look at this Pace 3 and the Garmin 255 or 265. I haven't really tested the Pace 3 for weight lifting type of workouts yet. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand thank you for the recommendations. I will definitely check out the Garmin watches as well. Great job on this video it was really informative.

I would say that the 955 still does a lot more than this. But it's a valid point. This thing does a lot of the basics stuff really well. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand what more can the 955 do? Most of the time I use it for running, so it's just tracking distance/time and thus speed, there's elevation tracking in there too, but I've often found that to be wildly inaccurate. For workouts it's just tracking repeated motions in order to count reps. I also wasted my money on the Garmin Index s2 which is a terrible product. It's amazing to me that Garmin can't make a decent scale.
You might be right! I'll wait a bit and see what Apple announces and how it effects that AW SE device. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I *think* that you'll prefer the 255. It's just a much larger price jump. I will say this Pace 3 is much smaller and lighter. But I guess your wallet will be heavier, so there's that. 🤷♂️
The Pace 3 would save money but the 265 is a bit more full featured. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
The 255s is a bit nicer watch in my opinion but that's a bump in price. Keep me posted on what you think of it and best of luck in the half marathon!!!

I am aiming to have that video come out the middle of next week or so. Maybe I should title it Pace 3 after 150 days? The white strap did not do well. I would go for the red track edition or see if COROS has any new colors. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about the watch. Another watch to check out would be the Garmin FR 165 depending on the stuff that you plan to do. 👍
It’s ok. I really like Garmin’s Morning Report. COROS reports on a lot of the same metrics but it’s just not summarized. Thugs like sleep duration or HRV are in the drop down widgets area. 👌
I wonder when these watches will start to hit stores ? is it the same 2 week timeline, as if I were to order it now, from Coros ? I would really like to get this watch in hand.. great overview.
Yeah, I haven't seen it anywhere yet. If you lived close to the greater Portland area, I'd let you take a look at mine but it be nice to have it and see if it's a good fit. It is a very small device.
It's kind of one of those titles that makes you wonder what's this going to be about. 🤔 I'm curious if Coros has seen this and if they're not too happy about it. 🤷🏻♂️
It really comes to down to that price. This is a very functional watch for the price. If you're more price sensitive than this is the one to get. Otherwise, the 265 is a nicer watch but it's a big jump in price. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
What do you think about the Coros pace 3 vs Garmin forerunner 255 music? 249€ vs 288€. It's my first running watch and I do mainly running, some cycling and swimming. Do you think the garmin is worth it even tho its older and more expensive?
Wow, 255 music for $288 seems pretty solid deal. I typically don't recommend the music version of that device because it doesn't have a ton of storage but that's a great price. Do they also have a deal on the non-music edition? I think the 255 is a more full featured than the Pace 3 but it all depends on what kind of prices deal you can find between the two. Nice work here!
@@mlegrand thanks for your response. The 255 and 255 music are about the same price rn. So I'd choose the music because of music, audio cues and WiFi. Do you think the 255 music is worth it even tho it is about 1.5 years old? And I'm still not sure about what size to choose. My wrists are about 15.5-16cm and I love the 255 more than the 255s because of the bigger screen and battery. Will it look too bulky? I have no store near me where I can try them.
@@codeopold8241 - My wrist are very small in this video here. I think it’ll feel big for a bit but you’ll quickly grow to enjoy the bigger size. It’s one of my favorite watches.
@@mlegrand I’ll stick with that then. My only annoyance is that it doesn’t use treadmill runs to calculate running performance which is 50% of my running!
I think it's a good affordable option. There are other options on the market that are better but not at this price point. The other one to look at would be to see if you can find any sort of sales or deals on the Garmin FR 255 but currently, I don't see any mega deals on that watch. amzn.to/3TVPWLd
Thank you for such a great and through review, thinking about this watch for some time now, never had one but getting more and more into running/swimming/cycling so feel the need to finally get one. looking forward to your update video on it! btw, seeing all these ppl in the comments asking what they should opt for - pace 3 or fr255 - bcos the price difference is about 50 eur/usd ... am i the only one, or it is more like 100-150 eur in Europe for me?
You are very welcome for the review. The other one to keep an eye on is the brand new Garmin Forerunner 165. Not sure about the Europe price differences. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

The Pace 3 is a fantastic budget option. I would think that you might miss some stuff from the Garmin side of things but happy to be wrong. Thanks for posting this Scott!
My Coros Pace 2 died after three years and I found out that most users suffer the same problem. The battery lifespan is 2 to 3 years, right after the 2-year warranty has expired... There is no option to repair it. Please keep that in mind.
@@mlegrand Hi, after contacting Coros support I received a brand new replacement free of charge. I have to give Kudos to Coros for acting responsibly!
Ordered one of these last night and this has been the best video I’ve found explaining to me all the features! Thanks for taking the time to make it, I’ll subscribe for sure
Thank you DarkMatter! Hope you enjoy the watch!
Coros is doing things right ✔️✔️✔️
They will sell a lot of Pace 3s.
They also have an amazing free one on one coaching service. Not just prompts or ai responses
yeah fantastic - to put music to the watch i should connect it to PC, in 2024 😀. And 4gb storage, where 32gb micro sd card cost 4$
Love the efforts you put in these high quality reviews.
Thank you so much!

No plans on stopping and hopefully I’ll continue to improve. Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot to me. 👍
Upgraded from an old Polar watch. Pace 3 is extremely comfortable watch to wear (the silicone band), almost feels like nothing on the wrist.
Yeah, that's a great option. Glad you're enjoying it and best of luck with training!
I would LOVE to see Coros' take on a bike computer. Another good one Matt, thanks!
Coming soon…
It’s nearly here!
@@mlegrand Yeah, I tested it more than I would like to on the MTB 😁

@@karelkalus7319 - You're very welcome buddy! Need to start venturing out of the watch review niche so you'll have more reasons to stop by. 🤔
I just ran a 10k and most all the “serious” runners seemed to have this watch interesting. Maybe it’s the size. But it was def the most popular I observed.
That is interesting. I would have guessed an Apple Watch or a Garmin.
Can you comment on the instant pace data is it laggy ?
@@TheValonquar in my experience not at all. I will say I generally run by feel or HR more than pace, but in my testing the pace was right on with my Apex Pro 2 and Garmin 955
Thank you.@@Feldmanphysicaltherapy
It’s also a lot lighter weight! 👌 Keep me posted on what you think of it as you start to train with it a bit more.
@@mlegrand will do. I’ve got a marathon and two half marathons coming up over then next 6 weeks. Ample opportunity for testing. 😂

Hi, thanks for talking about the swimming aspect of it! How do the swimming functions compare to other watches like from Garmin?
COROS currently does not have a drill mode or a way to track kick sets. I haven't tested this watch for open water swimming but COROS has not tested well in my past open water tests. Rumors are that COROS is working on some drill mode type features for swimming. I'd love to see it. 🙌

I appreciate any help I can get with the YT algorithm. It's a funny beast and typically entry level watches don't get as much love from YT as something big and fancy. Thanks Sinasi!

after looking for watches for a few weeks now the pace 3 is a good contender, but i feel like the Garmin FR 255 is worth it for me more for the ecosystem, ant+ and some other features for the price differenece. in some online shops the diff is just around 30-50euros.
For sure!!! I hope you found a great deal. 👌 Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

Not a device for my purposes but it seems like really good value for the money for the right user. Great video ad always 😊
Thanks so much Jonny! I always like to have a lower priced device that I can suggest to people that doesn't break the bank. I think this is that watch. 👌

hello from Argentina. Thanks for your review but one question. At same price coros pace 3 or polar pace pro? thanks a lot for your help
Personally I would pick the Coros Pace 3.
I’m really looking forward to getting a Coros Pace 3 but it’s still a fairly tough decision between the Pace 3 or a Garmin Forerunner 165.
Are you mostly running? Or do you have a triathlon planned for this summer? I’d probably lean towards the FR 165.
@@mlegrand mostly just running for now but doing cross training like lifting weights. I'm looking to do a marathon next year and am focusing primarily on building up my aerobic fitness and endurance and slowly incorporating speed training.

@mlegrand I was leaning more towards the Pace 3 but it's a really hard decision!
I love the black around the watch face now.
Yeah, looks great! Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
5:40 would this watch work with tattoos on my wrist???
Maybe 🤷♂️. I haven't tested that.
(tell your wife!)
The nylon bands...do they get to smell funky over time?
RUNNING POWER!? (that was said in a dramatic voice)
Man, you are exact with your guesstimates!
HRV is now there on the Pace 3

Awesome! Thank you for the correction. I’ll mention that in my upcoming 100 day review. 🙏

Can anyone who has used the Pace 3 tell me about the GPS lag - instant pace while running, and with Heart Rate still lagging as much as the Pace 2?
It's always a little hard to tell when using this device. I didn't actually put it up directly against the Pace 2. Heart rate lag looked normal for an optical heart rate sensor to me. Coros does make a pod for faster pace adjustements but I tend not to use it.
@@mlegrand Can it be equivalent to Garmin 255/955? Thank you for your feedback.
@@NghiaKTS - Well I think those three watches are all still very different.
Very beautiful watch! I chose to buy a 7 months old Forerunner 255 Music for 250$. The music providers is a bit of an issue for me but above all the Garmin watches user experience seems more advanced. Thank you for the video!
Great purchase!
I was lucky he wanted to upgrade to the 265! 😊
Is there a way to only enable the touchscreen for a specific activity?
You only have 3 touchscreen options but I don't remember it being an issue when swimming and when I had it always on.
Bought Pace 2 three years ago and wanting Pace 3, but my Pace 2 is still working brilliantly 😅
That’s great feedback for people to hear. I’m sure you could find a way to kill it! 😆
How does the band attach? Standard watch spring pins? Can I swap it out with a non Coros strap?
It's one of those standard 22mm pins. Yes, you could switch it out with a non COROS strap. 👍
Are you able to control Spotify from your phone with this watch? Like previous track, next track and pause?
Not that I'm aware of.
Is it convenient for using at not so cold swimming pools?
Ugg, I hate warm lap swimming. But yeah Adan, it'd work. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Garmin allow you to set your data screens
Tks
I'm not 100% sure what all metrics can be shown.
Yes cadence and stride length are part of the data that you can show in real time on your screen.
Awesome Quentin! Thanks for the assist with this answer.
I would consider it if it had hrv . I'm just so used to that metric now that it's a must have
I'm used to it also. I really enjoy the morning report on my Garmin. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I'm a polar user . Currently considering garmin for my next upgrade .
What does hrv do?
@DarkPa1adin heart rate variability is the variability of heart beats one to the next . Higher numbers are better and indicate lower stress and better recovery from training. If you get sick or train to hard your variability will be low .
I heard that it is planned by corso for future updates.
Does Garmin Forerunner 255 have NAVIGATION?! I don't think so. But Coros Pace 3 does. BIG difference?
The 255 and Pace 3 don't have mapping but do have navigation. It's a subtle difference. Thanks Alberty for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
HRV I understand should be coming by year end just that it is not ECG based.
Oh really? That's very good news. I'd love to have an HRV average after a night's sleep to check on recovery. Thank you User-k !
Looks like a nice watch. If you had to choose between this and the Garmin 945? The 945 is about $100 more.
I'd say that's a very tricky call. The 945 is pretty old at this point. Do you need maps?
@@mlegrand that’s what I’m thinking about. I’m wondering if the maps are worth it or if the bread crumb trails are good enough. I’m getting into hiking and trail running and I do gym workouts.
@@anthonyrampino7734 - Maps would be nice for hiking. Tricky call.
@@mlegrand with all that in mind, do you recommend something different that doesn’t cost more than around $350?
@@anthonyrampino7734 - I would have a strong look at the Garmin Forerunner 255 non music. Are you in the US? I have a discount code for my cycling store that could ship it to you. Or see what best price you can find online. Should be right at that price limit.
Could switching from Garmin 745 to Coros Pace 3 make sense for a road runner who sometimes swims and does strength training?
That 745 was a damn good watch. Is it acting up or is the battery struggling? I’d look at the 965 or 265 if you’ve liked Garmin maybe. 🤷🏻♂️
Which one should I buy between Garmin255s music and Coros pace3 which they have both similar price range

Wow, thank you so much!!! Hope you enjoy the videos and please don't hesitate to reach out with ideas for future videos. 👌
Thanks for a very thoughtful and thorough review! Buying it today!❤️
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it. The other option to look into is the new Garmin Forerunner 165. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand i think its gonna be a while before its gonna be available in my country🥲 also ive been eyeing the coros since pace 2 so i think its my best choice for now, im so tired of forgetting to charge my apple watch😞
Keep me posted on what you think! 👍
Can someone explain how to download Apple Music into it without paying for other services or if it’s even possible? I’m considering to buy the watch but I want to know if I get music or not.
This is downloaded mp3s only. I'm guessing that there are ways to pull mp3s from Apple Music but I don't think it's going to be the smoothest process for moving songs on and off of this device easily.
@@mlegrandare there music controls on the watch if you play music from your phone?
Hi! I'm sold on this watch for my first GPS/running watch! But I'm stuck between the nylon band vs silicone... any worries about how long the Velcro/nylon will last?
I’m not worried as much about the straps durability but I am worried about discoloration. Are you thinking white?
@@mlegrand initially yes- but you may be right about discoloration 🤔🤔
I am getting both the cords pace 3 and Garmin forerunner 255s for the same price which one should I get?
Hard call but I’d say 255s. It’s a bit more full featured in my opinion. Personally I love the morning report and sleep details. It’s something I’m personally working to improve. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
No gear tracking (mileage) on coros app, yet.
I use Strava for that but it’d be nice to have built into the COROS app. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
It's a shame that Coros doesn't have the Track Shoes function.
You need to use another app and it's a bit annoying
I don’t know much about that. 🤔

Garmin Venu 3 or Coros Pace 3.... Which one is the best?
I’ll have a review of the Venu 3 soon. I think if you’re mostly into running the Venu 3 would be a great option.
Currently it does not
Great video, thanks! If you could get the forerunner 255 at the same price as the pace 3 which would you go for?
How do you export your HR data for analysis?
I want to export and keep my data.
The COROS app has export options. I export it as a .fit file typically.
Which Forerunner did you end up with? I think the 255 or 265 is an amazing value with tons of recover metrics and decent HR tracking.
@@mlegrand (months later, sry)... I wound up with the FR 955 Solar and absolutely love it.

The price and the features are just too good to refuse
It's super competitive at this price. I absolutely love having an option to suggest to people that don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a gps watch. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I'm wondering why I bought a Garmin 955 given the price of this. Really don't know how Garmin can justify their prices any more.
Wonder if u compare it to Garmin 165, enlighten me please
I don’t have the 166 yet but I’ll try to get one and put together a review.
Hi what kind of temperature coros measure? Skin or outside or both?
It looks like outdoor but if you're under the covers it's getting a pretty warm reading.

Coros Pace 3 vs Forerunner 265? Is it worth the price difference for HRV, suggested Workouts, Music Streaming, ...?
It really comes to down to that price. This is a very functional watch for the price. If you're more price sensitive than this is the one to get. Otherwise, the 265 is a nicer watch but it's a big jump in price. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
