@@MatthewMoniz You can actually take ultrawide photos with the pixel 4a using photosphere, it requires quite a bit of patience and I recommend doing this in landscape mode, not portrait.

100%. I went from an iPhone X to a Xiaomi redmi note 9 pro (and $220 profit from selling the iPhone) and I'm super happy with the performance in every way (except Xiaomi's camera software. Yikes that NR sucks, but GCAM to the rescue I guess.) I wanted to buy the pixel 4a or 3a XL but even the 3a XL in Latin America is still $400 USED.

You've earned my respect Matthew, one of the need to talk about topic that matters to most of the people who had lost their job this phone makes perfect sense to them. @@justinjoseph8145 tbh, this phone makes zero sense in India, unless you really really want those pixel exclusive google assistant features out of which the call screening won't work here. The price will not be less than 30k and even if it was, there are tons of options here in India with much much better specs overall. If Camera is the only thing that's pushing you to buy this, well,I gotta say, anybody who's that specific about taking great photos, would most likely be using a DSLR. As for longevity, Google might offer good software support, but this processor isn't going to be faster than most offerings under 30k in India after 3 years, especially since One Plus offers the best updates as fast as google without compromising speed. It's a great option in North America but here in India, unless it's less than 20K or at least 25k and if they really loves best pictures rather than more cameras and wants a compact device that has great software support plus google features it doesn't make a lot of sense.

@Harris m10 yea.. I heard that too.. but realistically, it wouldn't be affordable and most phones would only have it by 2022, plus it would be expensive too. On top of all this, 5G cell reception would be ridiculously poor in most regions especially since it has maximum interference. Nice simple but thoughtful review. I will say though that I was one of those people who use to say, 'I'm never going to get my phone wet and I don't need wireless charging'. This year however my phone fell into a big old bucket of water and then months later my charging port started malfunctioning (both issues are not related). The water resistance saved my phone and with wireless charging I didn't have to buy a backup phone to get me through as my charging port was fixed. For me I think water resistance and wireless charging are like warranties, you're paying extra for something that you may never need but when issues like I had come up they are really invaluable.
I was REALLY considering to buy this phone and have almost made up my mind. I watched MANY videos on TH-cam about all features of this device! Finally, even you made a video and I AM gonna but this for sure! Great video! 💛
Love this review. Have been using the 4a for the last couple of weeks and it is a joy. Everything you mentioned + its just works. My iPhone XR crashed twice daily and had so many connection and app issues, I never imagined how seamless it would be to switch to android.
You seem concerned about the longevity of the SD 730. I have an exynos 7870 in my phone, and it’s still smooth after 3 years and 4 os updates (custom rom obviously) so a 730 should be better than fine in 3 years.
Mine has a SD 625, and is still pretty nice for normal tasks. It stutters a bit when I have multiple apps open, and in some specific apps, but overall it's still pretty usable. I really don't understand why most reviews show some concerns about the 730 longevity, especially with the 6GB of ram it's paired with.
I still have my Pixel1 from when I preordered it at release. It still works seamlessly with the only issue being the poor battery life, which is understandable for a phone about 4 years into its service life. I realized I don't need so many bells and whistles that come with the high-end phones, I just need something to check messages and emails, make a few calls, watch youtube, surf some social media, and check my bills. I don't even need a good camera since I'm a photographer with R5 and EOS R. Can't wait to upgrade once I receive mine

Thank you for this video. Finally there is some common sense in the TH-cam reviewer community, unlike some other big channels that literally commented "It feels plasticky" on a phone made of plastic ... and make comparisons to phones that cost 4 times as much.
Of all the Pixel 4a reviews I have consumed, yours is one of the best. I loved how you mentioned the things people actually use their phones for. I'm hoping to get this phone soon. Thank you! You earned a new subscriber.
Great opening and review. Refreshing for a tech reviewer to acknowledge its audience and the fact reviewers get to use phones a lot of people cannot afford. Really looking forward to checking out the 4a in person.
Thank you for your honesty Matthew, I appreciate the fact that you recognise what's happening to a lot of people in the world right now. I get a bit upset when I see all the £1300 phones being endorsed on this and other platforms, yet so many people are suffering. You just got yourself another subscriber. 👍🏼
Liked, like all your videos. The best channel, being honest in this days are really hard, clean Android and the camera just that makes the phone perfect for everyone. Most of the ppl who uses Gcam knows how spectacular is. Keep doing the best!
Pre ordered from Google Store in Canada. I’m switching from a SE 2016. Nice upgrade and with the COVID in Canada, I don’t plan to buy an expensive phone.
Great choice ! I think you'll be blown away by the Pixel's display, photo quality, battery life, speakers, and charging speed vs the original SE. Also, keep in mind that even if you start filling up the 128 GB of storage quickly (with media other than photos), all Pixels are OTG-friendly -- something NO iPhone can claim !! 😁😄
Such a fantastic review, Matt. I always prefer to watch Canadian reviews on products as I am also Canadian but unfortunately there aren't a whole lot out there. This is by far the best review I've seen! I've had my 4a on pre-order for a couple weeks now. Watching this review is torture knowing that I still have a couple more weeks to go before I get it!
That blurb at the start is why I like you. I think most tech reviewers are really out of touch with what the average person uses their phone for. People griping about silicone and processors when they're so overspeced most people wouldn't notice a difference between cutting edge or a phone from a few years ago.
You just gained a lifelong subscriber from this video alone! The way you speak about the truths when it comes to where everyone is at (maybe lost their job, money needs to be spent elsewhere, etc due to the pandemic); the fact that you highlight the difference between need vs want; that you speak in truths. This is what I want in any video, especially a tech review. Keep these up!! 👊 🇨🇦
This is hands down the best Pixel 4A review on TH-cam, many TH-camrs just drone on, but you actually focus and breakdown the flimsy biases people hold onto for $1000 handsets. I would recommend this review to anyone.
I still have my 5. Finally got fed up with how apple artificially slows down old phones and depletes their batteries among other things

As usual great and honest review. I am completely agree with you about refresh rate and plastic. I loooove soft touch plastic, i had the Moto Defy, x2, x style and that kind of soft touch plastic is amazing. Now I have in my 2020 Lenovo flex 5 14 and it feels amazing! Not sure why manufacturers do not like it. Refresh rate... You are right I had 2 realme phones with 90 and 120hz. Between 90 and 120hz the difference is barely noticeable. Between 60 and 90 it is a big step BUT when you go back to 60hz at least my eyes get use to it very quickly. BUT for me in late 2020 90hz should be a must in phones.
Same reason I can't let go of my Pocophone f1. Downloaded Gcam and it's still ready for the task. I would like to own a Pixel if only not for the hardship due to Covid and availability of the device. Good point bdw. Keep it up.
Hi Matt, You've earned my respect! one of the need to talk about a topic that matters to most of the people who had lost their job this phone makes perfect sense to them. Thank you for being real. I just wanna say you're great at figuring stuff out mate. Keep doing the good work!
I have the OnePlus 8 and I bought the pixel for a specifically for the camera quality. Whenever I know I'm going to be taking photos I am going to take the pixel 4a with me!
Good stuff Matt! I picked up the Pixel 4a from Best Buy to replace my Samsung S9 that had some screen burn in issues. I'm also a little salty with Samsung right now because they are putting ads in the weather and music apps! I was also able to get a 10% off coupon so I got the phone for $315. I'm really happy with it. The only thing I really miss is the wireless charging. Other than that, all has been good with this phone!
There’s a lot of people here in TH-cam already review 4A and also compare to other phones this review is the best among others it really convinced me to buy 4A soon over IPhone SE. thumbs up :)
The opening reason for this is it for me. I’m switching back after 5 years on a galaxy. Flagships are nice but the price on this is right this year. I miss the Nexus 5 Google simplicity feel. I’m going to give this a go, hopefully it’s coming to T Mobile. Thanks for this video!
Spot on, budget phones are improving everyday, plus it is a phone after all, and cameras do take photos and it won’t ever beat a high quality photo from a camera and a phone by the end of the day.
Excellent review. This is a phone for the masses, myself included. A decent, brutally honest review. This phone does what the average person needs it to do. I ordered mine from Verizon and will hopefully get it next week. Thanks man.
This is such a sensible "read the room" review. Plenty of people, like me are struggling financially and want a good phone for a fair price and I hope more reviewers look to the mid to budget tier market for more content to talk about.
Loved the thoughtful review. Even people who can afford, do we really need the $1000 phones. Would love if more youtube influencers come up with similar kind of reviews.
Some of the reviewers have started dogging on the $1,000+ phones. At some point, I think we will see more powerful $300 to $500 phones again. This 4a has so much packed into it for $350! I could afford a high priced phone...but why? At the end of the day we all scroll social media, text, make a call, check email, stream music and play a game or two. This phone can surely do all that!! This review sold me! lol
I have the 11 Pro Max & the Pixel 4a now. I missed having an Android phone, & now I have my favorite type of Android phone, for only $350. Beautiful Android experience for $350 with a phenomenal camera.
Hi Matt, thanks for your awesome reviews. I was wondering if you have planed to do a comparison between the Pixel 4A and the OnePlus Nord. Which one would you choose?
Do you have a recommendation for a case. Something Slim that will still protect the phone from a drop, but nothing bulky like an OtterBox. Thanks, this looks like the phone for me :-)
I am still using the iPhone 4 in 2020😂😂 It been a decade and it still runs smooth😎. Am planning to buy a new phone now. Should I buy the Google pixel 4a or the OnePlus Nord?
I saw earlier reviews for this phone and got excited to order one. So I did. People should know that it's not $350 (Canadian), its $540. I ordered mine on August 14th but it doesn't ship until September 11th, with an expected delivery date of September 22nd-25th. I know you have an international audience, but seeing that you're based in Canada, it would be helpful to point out those differences. You mentioned the CAD price difference of the other phone, but mentioned several times that the Pixel 4a is only $350 and didn't mention that it's not available yet.
Everything you said is exactly why I'm getting a 4a. I have a OnePlus 7 Pro now and hate it. Other than the issues I have with the software and how big the phone is, the features for me is overkill. I rather save the $300+ and get the 4a which is what I'm doing. Selling my 7 Pro and will gladly downgrade in specs to the 4a but know I'm getting a phone that works without issues.
i totaly respect you cuz you are one of the few that are tlking with family and real budget point of view ...and ur totaly right everytime i see video of note 20 ultra iphone 11 pro max that they're 1500$ and saying they're good phones and talking like money is nothing it gets me really upset about'em
Spot-fricking-on! I used to game, watch movies and do all sorts of things with my mobile, but the prices at the top end are just insane now. For the price of a top end device, I could buy a cheap phone, SLR camera and a games console. The only reason why people buy them is because of the bundles from their provider that makes the monthly repayment seem like it's not that much money. Why should I pay more for a phone plan and device per month than it cost me to run my whole house in electricity!?
I'm loving the Pixel 4a so far. I always buy new, unlocked phones and I know I'm usually only getting 2-3 years max out of them. I don't game on my phone, I have an expensive laptop for that... I want my phone to have great value and usable hardware specs. This Pixel 4a nails it. It works perfect for phone, text, email, TH-cam, and Netflix. Some of the key features I'm enjoying are: 1. Small size and weight 2. Headphone jack 3. Excellent speakers and mic 4. Great battery life 5. Very clean version of Android. 6. Great response on fingerprint sensor 7. Excellent camera for my needs 8. 128 GB internal memory. Two things I miss are, waterproof rating for peace of mind, and an SD card slot. Otherwise, this thing kicks ass for $502 CAN delivered to my door.
This is such a great phone and it makes consumers realize they can get so much for not a lot of money. But I am not sure what they will do with the 5 to make it worth purchasing.
The Pixel 4A may not be the fastest or have the best specs but it has everything most people need. Hit me up on discord.gg/mattmoniz or twitch.tv/mattmoniz if you have any questions!

This is called a practical interview. Great job!
Great opening and review. Refreshing for a tech reviewer to acknowledge its audience and the fact reviewers get to use phones a lot of people cannot afford. Really looking forward to checking out the 4a in person.
awesome review Matthew....this is a great phone! cant wait to buy it when it comes to India
Excellent, sensible review. I'm quite happy with the Pixel 3a I got mover a year ago, and I paid more for it than the 4a is going for.
Thumbs up just for the fact that you mentioned "over 2000 right here in Canada" fellow Canadian here keep your awesome vids coming and well said !
That blurb at the start is why I like you. I think most tech reviewers are really out of touch with what the average person uses their phone for. People griping about silicone and processors when they're so overspeced most people wouldn't notice a difference between cutting edge or a phone from a few years ago.
Eagerly waiting for your review of this phone... Thank u so much... 👍
Thank you Christopher!! Welcome to the channel!
This is hands down the best Pixel 4A review on TH-cam, many TH-camrs just drone on, but you actually focus and breakdown the flimsy biases people hold onto for $1000 handsets.
I would recommend this review to anyone.
Already ordered mine, I'm excited, I've been using an iPhone 6s for 4 years lol
Thank you for keeping it real and honest.
Thank you so much !
I have the OnePlus 8 and I bought the pixel for a specifically for the camera quality. Whenever I know I'm going to be taking photos I am going to take the pixel 4a with me!
Matthew brings the value content! Top Video! Thanks!
Fantastic review with actual user scenarios. And the best part is all the points mentioned where very honest. Great work bro !!!
I'm definitely replacing my iPhone XS for this. So long, iOS.
I hope they don’t mess up pricing in india 🤞🏻
Anything above 30k and they are doomed
@@mcponjohn-117true
Waiting for this in India.. as u rightly said more than 30k it's not worth..
25k is what I'm expecting
@@ankahit I doubt at 25k
There’s a lot of people here in TH-cam already review 4A and also compare to other phones this review is the best among others it really convinced me to buy 4A soon over IPhone SE. thumbs up :)
This channel deserves more subscribers, just subbed.
Great content and video quality 👍
The opening reason for this is it for me. I’m switching back after 5 years on a galaxy. Flagships are nice but the price on this is right this year. I miss the Nexus 5 Google simplicity feel. I’m going to give this a go, hopefully it’s coming to T Mobile. Thanks for this video!
Matt 2020 : it's a Kidney Friendly Phone
😂😂😂😂😂😂

Great video, couldn't agree more. Been treating it a pixel 4a and could definitely use a my daily over my S20.
Where did you get that awesome shirt?!
One of your best reviews ever mate.
Hey man, very realistic review considering the times we're all going through. Great intro. Keep it up!! Cheers!
Spot on, budget phones are improving everyday, plus it is a phone after all, and cameras do take photos and it won’t ever beat a high quality photo from a camera and a phone by the end of the day.
I think this is one of the best reviews, of any product, I have ever seen.
Excellent review. This is a phone for the masses, myself included. A decent, brutally honest review. This phone does what the average person needs it to do. I ordered mine from Verizon and will hopefully get it next week. Thanks man.
Just love this video and how it truly makes sense. More power to you man.
Loved the passion you put into this dude. Keep up the good work.
This is such a sensible "read the room" review. Plenty of people, like me are struggling financially and want a good phone for a fair price and I hope more reviewers look to the mid to budget tier market for more content to talk about.
The most sensible review of a phone I have ever seen. Matt deserves more subscribers.
Such a honest reviewer :^)
You're a true tech reviewer. You just said wht I think. Love from India ❤️
A video that's truly looking out for consumers. Thank you @Matthew Moniz.
This review sold me! lol
The only tech TH-camr that speaks wisely man I subscribed 👊🏻
I have the 11 Pro Max & the Pixel 4a now. I missed having an Android phone, & now I have my favorite type of Android phone, for only $350. Beautiful Android experience for $350 with a phenomenal camera.
Hi Matt, thanks for your awesome reviews. I was wondering if you have planed to do a comparison between the Pixel 4A and the OnePlus Nord. Which one would you choose?
I love you Matthew, you just said everything exactly what I'm thinking about pixel 4a.
Thanks for reviewing this phone for us!❤ My Pixel 4a comes in tomorrow! Your review was my ticket to buying this phone!
Was waiting for this one. It just sucks that it won't come out in anywhere other than the US until October :/
The kind of review we need more in this situation..
Kudos
I couldn't agree more. Very honest review. No google retailers in Nigeria
Loved the video... I've a pixel 3a XL and I love it! Soo my question is... Should I consider swap for the 4a? Thanks in advance!
I really liked your perspective for the review. 👍🏼
Thanks!
You're welcome. 😁
U'r review is A
Simple ✌🏼
Sober 🤘🏼
*Best* 🙌🏼

Good thinking Matthew. 🙌🏼
Some of the key features I'm enjoying are:
1. Small size and weight
2. Headphone jack
3. Excellent speakers and mic
4. Great battery life
5. Very clean version of Android.
6. Great response on fingerprint sensor
7. Excellent camera for my needs
8. 128 GB internal memory.
Probably just better cameras and a bit faster. But ya it will be a tough choice!
Hopefully water resistant caused from my experience it really is useful and important that u feel safe carry it anywhere outside
