Samsung has been surpassed in the camera department but in general terms, the s24 gives you a lot for the money. The iphone is obviously for iphone users.
Imo samsung cameras were never the best. Pixels, iPhones and Sonys take much better pictures than Samsungs. I upgraded to an S24 from a pixel and honestly i didnt like the cameras at first at all. After a couple of updates from samsung now it takes much better pics, but still i prefer the pics out of my old pixel or my moms iphone
@@KlutchAndJerel Once you've tried 120hz 60 feels all jittery and really isn't pleasant to use, especially when scrolling. It's fine for a $200 phone not an $800 "premium" phone. And the worst part is, the s10 from 2019 has a 120hz display. It was $850 on release and back then higher refresh rate screens were much more expensive.

One thing for which people don't give credit to Samsung is the small camera bump. With a normal back cover the phone sits flat unlike iPhone or many other Android phones.
There is no comparison here, the S24 feels like an iPhone from two years ahead, the 16 feels like it's using yesterday's tech with those big bezels and the bezels are thicker on the blue edge still, whereas in the galaxy the bezel and the edge are flush. Yeah there is no comparison.

How about videography at a smoother 4k 60 than the Samsung Better speakers than the Samsung Better processor than the Samsung Better Software than the Samsung (Objective tbh) I used to think Android had better software because you can customize it, but then I actually tried an iPhone & the difference is night & day…It is more limiting though

They're also a year apart. The gen 4 is about level with the a18 pro. So the S25 will technically have a better SOC than the iPhone 16. Which is a better comparison since the two will be roughly 5 months launch away from eachother rather than 9 months between the s24 and iPhone 16. Look I'm not coming for you, and let's face it - it's almost 2025, we're not in the age of these OSs' and devices still being refined, if you get a flagship device, you're getting flagship performance. Period. It's just a matter of preference, at the end of the day 90% of consumers just use their phone for calls, texts, email, social media and maybe a few games here and there and never even stress their phone anywhere near its max potential. One thing that can NOT objectively be denied though is that Android is by far superior for enthusiasts and hardcore users. iOS is restrictive, but it just works! And that's a huge positive to iPhone because that's all most people care about. But so does android these days. Both sides are great. Videography again isn't something that majority of people would reallyyyy care to sit there and nitpick, for photography enthusiasts though? Absolutely the iPhone got it. I live in Brazil. A couple of months ago I bought the s24 Ultra 512GB for the same price of an iphone 13 Pro 128GB. I own a macbook pro, but F%$# the ecosystem. In my view, I'm having the best of both worlds.
@utschb18 Yeah, we can make it work with Mac and samsung as well. For nearly a year, I didn't know there's an app in Mac that was equivalent to airdrop that works with nearby share in android. Made it much more convenient to share files.
Also, I think you can go wrong. Having a windows 11 PC and a Samsung (or a Samsung PC and a Samsung phone) is bliss, they integrate really well together, especially with Samsung Flow and the Windows phone software. If you have a Macbook, obviously the iPhone will be so much better in terms of using them together. It's true that both are great options, but what makes all the difference is what your main computer is/will be.
Agree you should math your pc or Mac, I had my first iPhone with the 12 and also having a Mac is the only thing making me get another iPhone again, very seamless.

You do know that you can change the picture setting in the display from vivid to natural on the samsung right. You always complain about the colors of the iphone vs the samsung.
A high refresh rate screen makes an old phone feel new. Even my OnePlus 7 Pro with 90hz from 2019 feels so much better when scrolling than the non-pro iPhone 16. 60hz in this day and age is unacceptable, let alone on that price point!
Since Tim Cook took over as CEO, Apple's innovative spirit seems to have faded. Their focus has shifted toward creating visually appealing products that cater to Gen Z's aesthetic preferences, rather than pushing technological boundaries. It is disheartening to see Steve Jobs' legacy compromised under the current leadership. Furthermore it seems like iPhones are light-years behind Samsung. Apple is just catching up with features that Samsung mastered ages ago. It is as if Apple is playing catch-up in a game it is not even close to winning.
Thanks for the video, I tried both, in the end I sent back the iphone and kept the galaxy s24, the CPU might be a bit slower, but it feels snappier and it's more fun to use :). Also the zoom lens is very useful.
The more I see reviews about the 16, the more I'm glad I upgraded to my 15 pro max (Upgraded from the 12 pro max). It's a solid phone and I don't feel like I'm missing my with the 16 series.
Yeah you're certainly not missing anything. We're past the age of spectacular year over year improvements as phones have matured so much. It's much more about software upgrades now - there's no point in going for the newest device every year anymore and that goes for iPhones and Androids.

60Hz will not age well after 2 years or so... If Apple update refresh rates of the normal lineups to like 90Hz or 120Hz in the near future, iPhone 16's resell value will drop significantly even more than a Samsung.
When it comes to phones in 2024, there’s not a wrong choice. The pixel, although underpowered, is a great phone. The s24 was a good phone. The iPhone 16 is great despite 60Hz. Considering it’s a phone for everyone who wants iOS but don’t want the pro models. Sadly, as someone else stated, I think tech today has content creators manufacturing outrage.
A phone has become a tool - and pretty much every decent phone on the market does the job, and it all comes down to price and preference. I think the upcoming SE model will be a good default for anybody who needs an iOS device.

However, yesterday my mother in law was showing pictures on her iPhone 7, proving that some people are happy with what they have, 60Hz or not.

I’m thinking of getting a s24+. I have a iPhone 11 and I’m tore. I don’t know what to do. My phone isn’t bad, battery still holds, but I want an upgrade and I’m kinda sick of Apple, but I’ve never had a phone other than an iPhone (aside from a blackberry back in the day ). The fun thing about android is if you end up not liking the keyboard, there surely is a custom one to be downloaded easily on the play store that imitates the ios keyboard. I love samsung and my phone has always treated me well. As long as you go with a flagship, which you are, samsung is a great option. I would never think to recommend anything else to somebody wanting to try android. I'm in the other boat. I've had the s7,s9,s20+,s22 ultra. I'm just bored. Looking to try iphone for the heck of it to have a shiny new toy. I would also love a new samsung phone, but I'm just bored of it.
The s25 series is coming out in January if you don't mind the wait and it possibly being more expensive. When s25 is released there might be deals for the s24 series as well (maybe there already are good discounted deals?). If you live in Europe I'd wait for the s25 series to see if they all have snapdragon processors, s24 & s24+ have exynos (ultra got snapdragon) in Europe and it isn't as good as snapdragon. Exynos processors usually run hotter and drains battery faster so it isn't as good long term as snapdragon. The North American market only got snapdragon so nothing you have to think about if you live there.
The battery life of the S24 has been a concern for me since its launch. Even with moderate usage, the battery does not last a full day and with heavy usage, it can be depleted by midday...
S24 and S24 plus comes with 8 Gen 3 only in the US, Canada and China for the rest of the world, they are selling S24 and S24 plus with Exynos 2400 which is not as good as 8 Gen 3 or you can say Exynos 2400 is worst in the price in which they are selling these smartphones. Chipsets are different for different regions but price are either same or even more than US, China and Canada.

Nobody uses "costimization" on android. 99% of people İve seen, they use stock stuff, maybe change bg image because thats easy to do, but the rest, İ am assuming takes too much tinkering so people never get into it.
Samsung allows you to organize your photo into folders without having to see them as well in your main album. True FOLDERS for photos. Pixel and iPhone use the janky “albums”. “Add to album” but it’s still gonna be in your main camera roll. That for me reason enough to use Samsung.

People are over looking the pro mode on samsungs camera app. You can manually control things like ISO and shutter speed as if it were an actual camera. I find that using the pro mode on most of the samsung phones helps with night time photography. The stock night mode on both phones is terrible
Running a S23 ultra at 120Hz, coming from a iPhone 13 pro max. All other screens in my house support 120hz and up and if you are used to it you never want to go back. I do have my backup iPhone 11 pro max still running (GOAT iphone imo), but that Galaxy is something else in my opinion. Anyway can't go wrong with any device between Apple and Samsung especially nowadays.
Imagine you went to buy a TV and the most pleasing to the eye would be punchy colors which increases the overall experience of viewing something on the screen so I would personally say I would go with the S24. Boring colors will not feel better on the screen tbh
May be Samsung should reconsider using SD 8g3 in all variant including internationally. The reason I'll buy Series S will always be Processor. Exynos really needs improvement or can never be same as SD.

s24 feels uncomfortable because of the aspect ratio, its very thin so it kinda makes u squeeze it. Iphones sit in the hand more naturally. I say that as an S24 used who is very happy with the phone.

Snapdragon version is faster than A18 in iphone 16 (at least according to antutu benchmark). Geekbench inputs empty cycles into tests to prevent thermal throttling. But it is an important part of the whole product. GB rather shows the theoretical potential of the technology rather than real performance.
Just bought the s24 2 weeks back and its worth the price ,iphone is overrated there is hardly difference between two and the battery life is almost identical on both devices,the s24 beats the iphone 16 in some aspects don't waste your money buy the s24
iOS is offers good features such as iCloud that make it simple to use a phone. However, the iphone doesnt have a telephoto camera and the 60hz is shameful. Not to mention the 400$ price difference that you find almost everywhere outside USA

I’m just about to upgrade my 5th Gen iPad Mini to the new one, which still has the low refresh rate. If it had Pro Motion, I’d definitely be considering upgrading my iPhone 13 Mini to something with “Pro” in the name. As things stand at the moment, if I do upgrade, it’ll be to a regular 16, … or 17 if I leave it til next year. Thanks for the content.

This is true, but the screens on 60hz iPhones tend to be much more responsive than any other 60hz Android. I say this from personal experience.

Thanks for the video, I tried both, in the end I sent back the iphone and kept the galaxy s24, the CPU might be a bit slower, but it feels snappier and it's more fun to use :). Also the zoom lens is very useful.

The more I see reviews about the 16, the more I'm glad I upgraded to my 15 pro max (Upgraded from the 12 pro max). It's a solid phone and I don't feel like I'm missing my with the 16 series.
Yeah you're certainly not missing anything. We're past the age of spectacular year over year improvements as phones have matured so much. It's much more about software upgrades now - there's no point in going for the newest device every year anymore and that goes for iPhones and Androids.

60Hz will not age well after 2 years or so... If Apple update refresh rates of the normal lineups to like 90Hz or 120Hz in the near future, iPhone 16's resell value will drop significantly even more than a Samsung.
When it comes to phones in 2024, there’s not a wrong choice. The pixel, although underpowered, is a great phone. The s24 was a good phone. The iPhone 16 is great despite 60Hz. Considering it’s a phone for everyone who wants iOS but don’t want the pro models. Sadly, as someone else stated, I think tech today has content creators manufacturing outrage.
A phone has become a tool - and pretty much every decent phone on the market does the job, and it all comes down to price and preference. I think the upcoming SE model will be a good default for anybody who needs an iOS device.

However, yesterday my mother in law was showing pictures on her iPhone 7, proving that some people are happy with what they have, 60Hz or not.

I’m thinking of getting a s24+. I have a iPhone 11 and I’m tore. I don’t know what to do. My phone isn’t bad, battery still holds, but I want an upgrade and I’m kinda sick of Apple, but I’ve never had a phone other than an iPhone (aside from a blackberry back in the day ). So I’m scared to leave iOS and the keyboard design and what not on iPhone…
The fun thing about android is if you end up not liking the keyboard, there surely is a custom one to be downloaded easily on the play store that imitates the ios keyboard. I love samsung and my phone has always treated me well. As long as you go with a flagship, which you are, samsung is a great option. I would never think to recommend anything else to somebody wanting to try android. I'm in the other boat. I've had the s7,s9,s20+,s22 ultra. I'm just bored. Looking to try iphone for the heck of it to have a shiny new toy. I would also love a new samsung phone, but I'm just bored of it.

The s25 series is coming out in January if you don't mind the wait and it possibly being more expensive. When s25 is released there might be deals for the s24 series as well (maybe there already are good discounted deals?).
If you live in Europe I'd wait for the s25 series to see if they all have snapdragon processors, s24 & s24+ have exynos (ultra got snapdragon) in Europe and it isn't as good as snapdragon. Exynos processors usually run hotter and drains battery faster so it isn't as good long term as snapdragon. The North American market only got snapdragon so nothing you have to think about if you live there.
The battery life of the S24 has been a concern for me since its launch. Even with moderate usage, the battery does not last a full day and with heavy usage, it can be depleted by midday...
Probably better with the S24 +, it's battery keeps up with the economical A55
That is what is expected from a small phone I guess. If you wanted more battery there is S24+ or Ultra

S24 and S24 plus comes with 8 Gen 3 only in the US, Canada and China for the rest of the world, they are selling S24 and S24 plus with Exynos 2400 which is not as good as 8 Gen 3 or you can say Exynos 2400 is worst in the price in which they are selling these smartphones. Chipsets are different for different regions but price are either same or even more than US, China and Canada.

Samsung allows you to organize your photo into folders without having to see them as well in your main album. True FOLDERS for photos. Pixel and iPhone use the janky “albums”. “Add to album” but it’s still gonna be in your main camera roll. That for me reason enough to use Samsung.

People are over looking the pro mode on samsungs camera app. You can manually control things like ISO and shutter speed as if it were an actual camera. I find that using the pro mode on most of the samsung phones helps with night time photography. The stock night mode on both phones is terrible

Iphone 16 back design looks like an android from 2019.
Running a S23 ultra at 120Hz, coming from a iPhone 13 pro max. All other screens in my house support 120hz and up and if you are used to it you never want to go back. I do have my backup iPhone 11 pro max still running (GOAT iphone imo), but that Galaxy is something else in my opinion.
Anyway can't go wrong with any device between Apple and Samsung especially nowadays.

s24 feels uncomfortable because of the aspect ratio, its very thin so it kinda makes u squeeze it. Iphones sit in the hand more naturally. I say that as an S24 used who is very happy with the phone.

From a 120hz screen, its not worth the trade off in battery life. Its cool for the 1st month, but battery life is better.

Snapdragon version is faster than A18 in iphone 16 (at least according to antutu benchmark). Geekbench inputs empty cycles into tests to prevent thermal throttling. But it is an important part of the whole product. GB rather shows the theoretical potential of the technology rather than real performance.

I’m just about to upgrade my 5th Gen iPad Mini to the new one, which still has the low refresh rate. If it had Pro Motion, I’d definitely be considering upgrading my iPhone 13 Mini to something with “Pro” in the name. As things stand at the moment, if I do upgrade, it’ll be to a regular 16, … or 17 if I leave it til next year.
