    Nobody will ever convince me that the difference in hardware costs in other phones can justify a jump in price from $350 to $1300 for the new Note 20. It's simply not possible that marginally better hardware in a phone is the reason the price is nearly 4x what this phone costs.
    The top end phones that are over $1000 are priced that way because the manufacturers can do it. They would make healthy profits at $700 to $800 on those phones.
    Stop buying expensive phones and they will stop charging insane prices for them. I ordered a Pixel 4a and it will be here in a couple of weeks. Goodbye Samsung I'm done paying $900+ for phones that aren't truly any better than the mid tier phones.

      Yes i dont understand why some people I know need to drop 800+ dollars for phones when all they do is watch youtube videos, and maybe text and call people. 600+ more dollars for wireless charging, water proof, and a little faster cpu is not worth it to me especially when tech is always getting better. In another 1-2 years there will be better another phone than the one you bought. So i am going to settle for this amazing 350 dollar phone with an amazing camera, decent battery, and large storage space. Thats all I really need... and I will be satisfied for another 6+ years...

      Exactly. Unless someone is really going to make use of apple ecosystem SE is garbage phone especially at 64GB base storage, LCD vs amoled, 4.7 inch screen(pixel is physically same size with smaller bezels), pixel also 3 year software support(very decent for $350 phone), headphone jack + third party Bluetooth headphones works better on android than iphones because of iOS restrictions on third party accessories, awesome camera for all situations much better for photos. A13 power is useless at 4.7 inch screen you can't even game which will take benefit of the power of A13 😅. And yes biggest drawback is 1800mah battery that battery is super shit. It won't last more than 4 hours doing taska A13 is made for. 😂

      @@rapiddu6482 you can game on the iphone se way better than almost any andriod ive tested. Its better than the s10 which was samsung's flagship. The phones battery is kind of a problem cus u barely get 4hrs of screentime but a replacement costs 35 dollars only, not a big problem. The display isnt even bad, the processor is probably better than 80 percent of flagships today and its ios, it lasts long with no problem. Andriods slow way too quick even though people almost never talk about it. The camera is also super good so u cant complain there. Screen is decent, if you get picky about a phone screen when your literaly budget for a phone is under 400 dollars, you're probably a choosing beggar unless you use your phone a lot.

    My previous 2 phones were the Nexus 6P and Pixel XL - One full day with the Pixel 4a and I am totally sold on the price (seriously, we're talking about HALF of what both previous phones went for), features and SIZE. I remember first getting my Nexus 6P and thinking what a large phone it was; definitely a bit unwieldy trying to use with one hand in many situations, and I've got large hands. Though the Pixel XL was a tad smaller & lighter, it essentially felt the same. The Pixel 4a is, literally, just right.

    With the Nord, pricing it comparitively from Euro to USD is not exactly fair. Most places have much higher tax and shipping costs than the us, more than likely the Nord would sell for $400 in the US. And bearing in mind in countries that you can actually get all of these devices apple and Google keep the numbers the same (i.e it costs where I live £350 for a 4a and £450 for the SE) whereas the Nord is adjusted and only £30 more than the Pixel, and at that price point an easy recommendation. Are hard comparison for someone in the US to make

    About software support, though apple guarantees 4-5 years' updates, don't forget that secret button Tim Cook has at his desk! Usually after 2 to 3 years, the SE will be most likely slow as hell compared to the 4a.

    It's weird, the 730 in my Redmi K20 is super fast. Like, it never stutters in apps. Now I don't play games on it, because I don't care about mobile gaming, and I'm sure it's lacking there, but it's really fast in apps. Are you saying the 730 in the Pixel 4a with stock Android could be faster? Because my Redmi K20 is buttery smooth. If you don't care about games on your phone, I'm sure the Pixel 4a is going to be very fast for 90% of users.

    Im sorry smartphones as we broadly know them don't need more than 60 Hz 400ppi displays. To make it literally everything anybody might need in a phone, the pixel 4a would only need a more powerful processor (for future proofing), a slightly bigger battery, a wide angle camera, and waterproofing. Boom if it had all that i can guarantee I'm set for 5+ years

    I don't understand why people don't like bezels. Bezels give more comfort and real estate to use the phone in landscape mode, and more room to implement better features like front firing speakers and features like project soli (if it gets better). Best of all, no hideous notch or holes on my screen and not required to have moving parts.
    So much compromise just to get slightly more screen😒. Was expecting the 3a design language in 4a but was such a let down.

  • @LindonSlaght
    @LindonSlaght 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Austin you said the Nord was the closest competitor but you obviously haven't been using it for long considering how long it took you to find the SIM tray. Also whats the point in all these spec races, because my phone cost 129.99$ Canadian dollars, runs on Android 10 , has 2gb of ram, 720p screen, a mediatek Helio a22, and so far the experience had been very immersive and smooth, much better than the iPhone 6 I was using. I think nobody is going to upgrade their phone every year, because as long as your phone has Android 7 or later compatibility isn't an issue, and the new OS's only add new features, and take up more ram, lowering performance on low ram devices, which is pretty much any super budget phone. If Android could handle ram better than a really cheap phone could almost as good as this pixel 4a. And as a side note, what your calling a budget phone is cheaper than others yes, but with that hardware, the processor becomes the bottle neck, because what's the point of a 64mp sensor if you can't record 8k video? What's the point of a 1080p panel if you still can't see the pixels on a 720p panel, and the GPU can't handle 1080p smoothly? I think we need to stop worrying about numbers and start worrying about absolute value, in real world use. In case you didn't realize, and this goes to other phone reviewers too, most people aren't all that interested in playing call of duty mobile on such a tiny screen when their 7 year old PS4 can do the same thing for longer

  • @sergiobrito8219

    Both the Nord and the Pixel have availability issues, many markets simply don't have them for sale. Meanwhile, the iPhone SE is available everywhere you'd expect it, which is a big advantage. For example, in Portugal, between these three, my only option is the iPhone, and that's a thing I think OnePlus and Google need to fix if they want to be as relevant.

  • @shango7942

    Yes, the iPhone will give you 5 plus years software updates, but that is misleading. Because as of today, some of the older iPhones don't have some of the features of the new software because of the older processor and chips and overall hardware, a lot of people are not mentioning that.
