That photo of him in the hospital was very shocking, but I heard he was very happy to see his parents, so it seems hopeful that he will make a full psychological recovery. I hope that is the case and that he’s able to grow up to recognize how amazing it is that he survived on his own in the woods at such a young age.
Yeah I've heard stories like that. Kids saying they were carried away and fed by the "fuzzy man" and different things like that. I love watching the missing 411 stuff. Very strange things happen in the woods.
I've seen it before..2-3 year olds wandering off. They can cover a lot more ground and more quickly than adults realize or are willing to believe. I'm so glad he was found unharmed.
@@pumpkindiamond994 Yes, absolutely. They may have little legs but they do have stamina when they want and the adrenaline of being lost is always a kick in the pants.
Yeah. Kids can go real fast honestly. I was one of those kids where I would be zooming outside directly onto the street slipping past my parents (who were blocking the way with their bodies to prevent me from escaping) where there were busy cars and I just thought it was a game. I was about 3 years old and even my teenage siblings couldn’t catch me.
@@IntrepidFraidyCat same!! My son was right next to me and when I turned I couldn't find him and was frantically screaming for him and running through the store and we found him at the front door greeting everyone! It was definitely a terrifying moment and after that, trust me, one hand on the cart and he had to hold my other hand from that day on! 🙂
This child slept in a lawn mower bag? He is very smart; at 3 years old, no one has taught him survival skills, so that's impressive. I am so glad to hear he is okay.
For anyone wondering what actually happened: So the most reasonable story the cops have put together is actually that he lived kinda out in the country by mountain trails and got out of his house one day and started looking for bugs on the trail. He was just wondering around along the trails and realized he was lost. He thought if he kept going he could find his way home. He probably would have stopped except he really needed to get home so he kept walking even though he’s tired. He managed to make it 2.4 miles and lightning storms started. He found a cabin nearby and was smart enough to get into the cabin for the night instead of staying in the storms. Meanwhile his parents searched for him for 2 hours before calling the police and a full search was launched. Because they had waited 2 hours, Ryker was farther along than they searched. Once the storm started, they had to stop the search but continued on the next day, and the day after that. He had gone missing Friday afternoon and was found on Sunday in the cabin he had found shelter in. He was found by the owners of the cabin, and was returned to his parents. The reason he looked so traumatized in the second picture is because he was. He had stayed alone in a cabin during storms and not knowing if he was ever gonna see his family again for 2 whole days. He also had no food or water. As a 3 year old, the boy is able to talk so this is not a made up story, this is actually what the boy told the police, and what the police believe most likely happened. Also he was wearing different clothing when he was found, but one explaination is that he found those clothes in the cabin or maybe changed before he ran off without his parents knowledge. Either way, it’s not exactly an unsolved disappearance. It is still an open case because no one can say for sure what really happened. But at the current moment, this is the most widely excepted and most plausible explanation.
It seems like to me (and I hate to speculate here but..). I think he wasn't being watched very closely and honestly they have no idea WHEN he exactly went missing because someone wasn't being a very good babysitter. That's just my opinion though. 3 yrs old is that weird age where they're really kinda still a baby but they're tough. Hard headed and incredibly resilient. The most obvious explanation for the clothing (which is really weird IMO all on its own) is that they were his clothes. Maybe not the ones he went missing in but maybe older ones he had outgrown. My ten yr old has quite a bit in her closet that she's outgrown because it seems like she's having growths spurts every other day and twice on Sundays. So the clothing was probably his but how did he have it on hand? Did he change in it before he went missing and they just really weren't paying a damn bit of attention or ... Did he bring a little bag with him? So many questions. There are so many weird stories of people (particularly males for some reason) going missing in, near or around forests and national parks. Weird stuff.
Just saw this now so very late to comment I know. BUT I fully agree and think there is way more to this than has been shared. He was 3 years old at the time....appears nobody was watching him???? who were the adults in charge of him at the time and also why are even the police or whoever just saying " oh he was used to playing on the trails oit the back" and seemed to have just gone off on his now. I am all for self confidence and not hovering over children let them explore a little but a child at that age you still need to be WITH them as they do that...within eyesight and quick reaching sight just incase. I sure hope the authorites investicated further about this Quite shocking if this was it.
Ryker looks like a right little character. He reminds me of the “actually” kid. This Sherriff was engaging, warm, and I felt like I was right there with him as the events unfolded. Would love to hear more of his stories. Especially appreciate him sincerely acknowledging the volunteers, thank you to everyone who helped contribute to Rykers safe return. This goes to show that teaching your kids how to ask for help if you’re lost in the bush is just as important as the shopping centre, and from the moment they can walk (not to mention staying away from water without a big person). Every parent has a story of the day they lost their kid for a minute, or five minutes, or ten- the utter panic and turning hysterical. For 99.9%, they find their child within a few minutes and are flooded relief, and it becomes a story. But, for the 0.1% who don’t become lucky, they are thrust into a nightmare- from there, most don’t get the happy ending that Ryker and his family did. Yet the other 99.9% of parents who lost their children for five minutes quickly forget their own whisker near-misses, parsing judgement. “You can’t ever let your child out of your sight, even for a second”. There but for the grace of God.
Anyone can play perfect parents in this position just be glad it didn't happen too you If he didn't have parents who educated him he wouldn't have survived that a fact
As it was reported locally. The people that owned the cabin upon hearing about the lost boy. Decided to go up to thier property and look around for the Boy. Let's hear from the people that Found The Boy. Best Wishes! M.H.
TFS. That was very helpful info. These stories often leave out some of the most important details. I found myself wondering, if no one was there when he peeked in the cabin windows, and they weren’t there 80 or 90% of the time, how did they hear him whimper???
They always say it was cops who found the kid.. the murderer and victim- it was us kids who found the dead body here when I was 15 and in the papers of course they said cops found her.
@@susanmei9980 the Sheriff telling the world that properties are empty most of the time just might cause a bunch of Burglaries. I Truly Believe that. 🙃
Funny that's not what the towns people are saying. Boy said he was with a bear and was scared half to death when they found him. Also not dehydrated or wet and there was no way he made it that far with people on horseback and ATVs chasing after him. Notice the bloody nose too, didn't fall either according to the child... This is the second toddler that disappeared that quick, gone 2.5 days, heavy weather and cold, no food or water but is found relatively unharmed and states that: I was with a bear. Not gonna say it, do your own research and start opening your eyes. There are things going on in this world you aren't being told. When the families say the authorities are lying, and they should know... you better get your heads out of your asses.
I think a lot of people don’t realize how far and quickly a child this age can go, because all they’ve experienced is their child’s movements when they’re always around. You cut a kid loose and zoom they can go for long distances. If you’ve ever turned your head in the grocery store, turned back and they’re gone, they’re never just one aisle over, are they?

On a trail kids can go far. When I was a toddler I got lost for a short time at the Jersey Shore, we were on the beach and my parents just looked away a minute taking care of my baby brother. OP is right and I'm failing to see the point of these other responses 🙄 The father went *inside* the house--meaning he literally left his child outside and unattended. I don't care if it was 10 seconds, you cannot "be right back" with a 3 year old--especially with the wilderness as your backyard. He is so lucky his child was found safe and unharmed--though this little guy may have to deal with some subconscious trauma later in llife.
Gotta give that kid props and his parents props (well, not for losing him obviously) but for giving him some kind of idea how to take care of himself and hide.
And he was not picked up by somebody and later left behind? I find it so strange that search dogs would not find a three year old who certainly soiled himself during all this time ... and dogs did not smell and hear him? STRANGE. 🤔
@Marilyn Willett are you delusional?! If he had encountered a wild animal that felt hungry or threatened they would most certainly “bother” him! Do you live in Montana or anywhere with vast wilderness?
First off, he did not find them, the owners of the cabin where checking on things and found the little boy in their shed. Secondly, why the hell did it take 2 hours before the police where called to report him missing? Thirdly, why was this little boy left alone for so long without supervision? Personally, I have had my own little 3 year old wander off in the woods while I was taking care of his brother. It was absolutely frightening. But once I found him he wasn't that far from the home, and was actually following his dog around :). I was blessed to find him, but still, there's some questions here that need to be answered. The sheriff said that we went to the playing place and he wasn't there. Because this little boy had a lead on them. Doesn't make sense. How low were the windows on this cabin for a short little three year old could see in? And how low was the door knob or if no door knob that cabin door was pretty light for him to open? The sheriff or officer sounds really Shakey during the questions before the shed. He accidentally said cabin and nervously said shed. Weird
No. I worked in a mall Toy Store. Kids would take off and would be found completely on the other side. Two and Three-year-olds. It happened many times.
Are they sure he wasn’t taken there and left there by someone…maybe they kidnapped him and decided to bring him back or just left him in the shed for a moment to go do something else and then that’s when he was found…..never know…
I honestly don’t believe he walked that whole way, there are cameras spotted on trains with Ryker and the exact outfit he was wearing the day he went missing. I was thinking the same thing too. But kids can move so fast it will blow your mind. I didn't leave my kids outside. I left them upstairs on the bed with snacks watching TV while I washed dishes downstairs and then ran down to the basement to just move the load in the dryer to the basket and the load in the washer to the dryer. It was about 15 minutes total. But I foolishly thought Peppa Pig, snacks and the fact that it was 8 pm at night (though bright outside) would keep them put. I went back upstairs to an empty bedroom. Yeah. Kids can go real fast honestly. For anyone wondering what actually happened:
So the most reasonable story the cops have put together is actually that he lived kinda out in the country by mountain trails and got out of his house one day and started looking for bugs on the trail.

I am all for self confidence and not hovering over children let them explore a little but a child at that age you still need to be WITH them as they do that...within eyesight and quick reaching sight just incase. I sure hope the authorites investicated further about this

If we don't watch out for our children, it is people like this that will. Chose carefully.
What a blessing. He is found safe and unharmed. Returned to his parents. On another note, this interview was slightly painful to endure. How many different ways can this interviewer ask the same question? Answer: Just about the same amount of times the interviewee can reword the exact same answer, while avoiding actually answering the question.
Agree!! I gave up and decided to search for the little boy's story on another channel. I say this with love, I think Ashley should retire from News Nation and/or seek a different job.
@@Rebecca-hc5ju the guy seems to be struggling to remain within whatever limits he was given with regards to any available information on this search and rescue. Without being prompted he clearly says the child was intelligent enough to keep warm in the grass cuttings and her very next question is how did the child keep warm. I couldn't tell if this was some inappropriate joke or is her ear piece off? Please someone, make it make sense. I definitely don't want to be shady and I'm not commenting out of any kind of hate. I'm paying attention, in suspense as this is a very serious matter. I just don't want to feel like I'm the only 1. So thank you Rebecca, for being right there with me. 😬
@@jenniferthompson3546 ugh, yes!! I definitely agree with you! Unfortunately, I didn't find any better coverage of the story.
I also think it's odd that the police department didn't receive the call until 2 hours after he went missing. 🤔 I think there may be more to the story.
Thankfully the boy is ok! I hope he continues to thrive.
Sweet little soul was smart enough to find cover and stay there. So glad he was found safe and unharmed. Thank you to everyone who helped try and find this sweet little guy. God bless him 💙
Shoulda said “who was with you”
his eyes says it all. he looks so different from those photos.I hope he has made a full recovery
6:21 Pretty good spirits?? He looks absolutely traumatized, learn to read the room lady, that kid looks like he's seen the devil
Oh my heart….. Thank God he was finally found, a day or so more would’ve been a whole different ending. Bless all that helped find him!
I love this happy ending. This 3-year-old is truly remarkable for taking shelter in a shed & finding a bag to sleep in. 💙
What a feel good story! So happy the little boy is now home safe and sound. Thanks go out to everyone who helped bring him home! 🙏👍🙂
Don't get me wrong, thank God he was found & unhurt, but I really HATE when people say, "I only turned around for a minute." 🤬
I don't see how he'd do all that by himself. Someone hid him in that shed
Agreed something is veryyy wrong with this story I don’t even think it’s the same kid even.
@@yesshshgjb3947 the cops stuttering gave it all away there is so much more to this case they haven’t figured out yet, the kids low key a danger to the family if he just goes home without any real reassessment
Child is dehydrated and hungry which can absolutely change his appearance. He's also the age where he doesn't know about posing for photos.
Children aren't stupid, they just can't verbalize like necessary.
This is terrifying. I’m so relieved he was found safe and sound. Don’t walk off again little man. !!!!!!!!!
Why all the exclamation marks towards the kid who's 3 years old and wouldn't understand anyway isn't it the dad's fault for going in the house and leaving him alone outside even if it was for a quote unquote hot minute which I don't believe the kid got that far away in one hot minute
His guardian angel was with him.
Bro, that is not the same kid.
There’s somthing the police officer isn’t telling us…
That is not the same kid. Look at the photos the kids noses are completely different. His eyes just widened??? Also, if he just went missing how would he change clothes? Wouldn’t he stay in the same clothes? And that’s a very far distance for a 3yr old to make all by himself. Not the same kid. Need dna test or something. Might be a skin walker scared for the parents
agreed
His eyes could be sunken in from no food or water and severe dehydration and shock and fear, BUT that nose is different! And on first glance my mind did question if that was the same kid.
