When the store found out that she was missing they automatically closed the doors and they started looking for her, they had also called the cops but by the time they arrived she was safe and sound, they told my daughter to stay with your mother. My daughter told them I was but I got hungry and I wanted some fruit to eat, then she told them my mom won't buy me some fruit so I got some myself! @@kirennnnnn no, the older brother. He was talking about how he's sure Manny is okay when he was in the buggy with the lifeguard. He was too little to understand just how bad the situation could've been.
When I was 12yrs old on holiday we thought my younger brother had drowned, I will never forget the feeling of scanning the empty waves trying to find him. Our family was in absolute panic for 30min straight. We found him playing at the nearby lagoon. I’m 45 now but that remains my worst memory. I feel for that little girl screaming about her brother she will likely always remember that trauma.
On the beaches of Brazil, every time a child gets lost from their parents, everyone starts clapping their hands, to get the attention of the parents or whoever is close to an unaccompanied child. That way we stay tuned and stop what we're doing until parent and child meet again. It is a resource that we found to help, as the beaches are very crowded and many children end up losing their parents. If the child is not finding his parents, an adult puts it on his shoulders and walks along the beach, while the clapping continues, so that the parent already pays attention to the location of the children and identifies if it is one of their own.
That is literally genius. If this was implemented in more places such as theme parks or all beaches there would be so much less lost children that take the attention of people who are supposed to be watching the water or other guests.
@@dairacastillo2494 was about to say the same. I don't know how it started but is common knowledge if you hear clapping at the beach a kid is lost. Had seen pretty big crowds looking for children's parents.
@Teapot Inc If people did that about every child they saw alone, they would do nothing but speak with lifeguards all day. The initial assumption is that the kid is being watched from somebody on shore, but clearly some parents are too stupid and lose their kids like these idiots.
I know how that feels... my 4 year old daughter walked off on a beach in Thailand... she followed a street vender... the police and beach workers were fantastic...speed boat workers found her an hour later... I have never felt so sick, and then so happy to see my little girl... Great work by these guys...

In Germany at most patrolled beaches children get silicone armbands with a number carved in. Parents can insert their mobile number and the name of the child in a list at the lifeguard tower and when lifeguards find a child without parents the lifeguards can watch up the mobile number of the parents in the list with help of the matched number on the armband and can contact the parents to bring the child back to them.
That sounds like a great idea... And could work for individual parents here... but it wouldn't work on a large scale. Tens of thousands can flock each day to a beach like Bondi. And many do not speak English and come from all corners of the Earth. It would be unmanagable
Man, those lifeguards deserve LOTS of respect. They also spend hours looking for people without leaving until they find them and also rescue animals. They are MUCH needed and I respect that🙌😊😇

Antonina Rusinek i do agree with u, but at least the kid was in safe hands. Even if there was a language barrier and he couldn’t understand what they were saying, he was with people that wouldn’t harm him.
I know this is an old video, but here in Brazil we have a technique of sorts: whenever someone finds a lost child, they clap and the other people around start clapping as well, so if you've a lost kid, you can just follow the bunch of people clapping and find them. I always thought this was common practice in the whole world, then I found out it wasn't because I saw news in English mentioning the clapping as if it was an amazing/inventive thing (we've done this since I remember) lol
I learned from this episode that as a parent I need to: a, ask my kids to stay within a certain safe area, and show them lifeguard tower and lifeguards in case they need help if they are separate from mom dad. b, take pictures of them on beach so that we can show to lifeguards when needed. c, watch kids closely, stay with them all the time.
Our family had a beach umbrella with our family initial painted on it. It was clearly visible from the water and we were always told to keep inline with it. That way we could tell the direction of the current as well. I think it key that families have something visable and unique to help young kids not get lost, especially when all the people look the same at that age. Watching this there were only about 5 different types of brolly, how can you tell which ones yours from a distance ya know
Taking pictures really helps, just a description can sometimes not be much to go on if it's something like a blue swimsuit and brown hair, but a photo makes it easier for lifeguards or anyone in authority to identify a lost child.
@@BeckettSmeckett as a trick my family was using in the same idea u gave we always put countries flags or bags with much colors , or put umbrella in deffrent position that make it easy to see it from far away it's really helpful expect the trick of flags the first thing you see when you are at the water trying to find the umbrella is the big flag and you knew it also there is trick my dad used to do it when it's kinda dark and me and brothers swim he always use green Lazer on us to make sure he see us and he get our attention to get back the the beach

That's so smart! I wonder who started doing this? Cause it probably helps A LOT
@@vivsmusic19 i thought you said ''if this was impaled''

In Germany at most patrolled beaches children get silicone armbands with a number carved in. Parents can insert their mobile number and the name of the child in a list at the lifeguard tower and when lifeguards find a child without parents the lifeguards can watch up the mobile number of the parents in the list with help of the matched number on the armband and can contact the parents to bring the child back to them.
Im from Germany but wow thats new. Ive never heard of that tbh. Great idea though
That sounds like a great idea... And could work for individual parents here... but it wouldn't work on a large scale. Tens of thousands can flock each day to a beach like Bondi. And many do not speak English and come from all corners of the Earth. It would be unmanagable

Watching this there were only about 5 different types of brolly, how can you tell which ones yours from a distance ya know
d, make sure they know ur phone number
