      I disagree. She's not a hero. She was extremely lucky.
      Children aren't capable of surviving predators. And predators know it. Only on very ,very, very rare occasions they escape .
      If we really want our kids to be safe from predators, we have to supervise them , especially in rural areas. I'm so sorry this pastor and his wife lost their daughter.

      I'm 66 now and a girl in a class below me went missing while walking into our small town to buy a present for her brother. She was supposed to be on a church camping trip that my friend had invited me to join. I vividly remember hearing that she wouldn't be there because she just vanished.
      This was back in the 70's, I still think of her and wish we knew what happened. Her name is Wendy Eaton.
      The State Police went a couple of years ago and searched the property she was walking by. They declared it a homicide investigation, but I have heard nothing since.
      If it impacted me so much that I still think of it about 50 years later I can't imagine how awful the pain, the not knowing and the longing must be for the families of the missing.
      I believe both of Wendy Eaton's parents have since died. I pray they now know the answers.

    • @paulinegallagher7821
      @paulinegallagher7821 หลายเดือนก่อน +40

      @@teddyjam8134 Thats not always so straightforward. An abductor usually knows how to get around that resistance; they will incapacitate you before you have a chance to react. One man came up behind the victim outside her car, and forced her into it with a knife stuck to her side. Another man punched a woman in the face. Another man grabbed her and banged her head against the door of her car. The best advice is to be super aware of your environment at all times; look around you when walking to your car, do not be in your own little world. When out walking or running, chose a well populated area, and if you see anyone looking remotely suspicious, or a car driving slowly beside you then speeding up ahead of you, turn around quickly and head in the opposite direction. The trick is to never let them anywhere near you. Women are a lot smaller and weaker than men, its not so easy to fight once they have a hold of you.

When i was 12 late afternoon im walking near the church a group of teen addicts suddenly at my back just a few meters and when they call me i suddenly alert myself and when they are still following me and going near me while they talking and laughing i suddenly sprint to running fast coz i think if they ever hold me thats the end of me and i ran so fast and hide in my aunts house near the area im shaking while hiding 😢 that time there are some young girls that got gang rape and killed in our area so that experience is horrible that im always alert wherever i walk to its scary so i study self defense for my protection coz predators are always around 😢😢 girls trust ur instinct it helps a lot to avoid danger

      I am a daughter of Satan himself. It’s odd. My father is a malignant narcissist with severe psychopathy. They don’t get to have human feelings and can’t hide the light in their eyes when they witness something truly terrible.
      I eventually escaped his reach, but it nearly cost me my life. I had to leave my mother and 3 siblings behind because they were serving as tools to draw me back in to the family activity of destroying one another. Plus, two of my siblings also have severe psychopathy. The other two have to detach on their own terms and I pray for them everyday.
      Life is hard without a family. Also, I was socialized to the wrong normal and there’s still little things I do that weird people out. However, there’s no feeling in the world quite like knowing I was Satan’s captive and he couldn’t keep me. I have a natural happiness and forgiveness that carried me through and got me out. IDK where it came from. Yea for me!🎉

      The truth of the matter is that most of those missing cases are runaways. When you crunch the numbers (and I know most people don't care about numbers but they're important) around 750 kids in the entire USA go missing due to strangers. For those 750, obviously, that is terrifying and my heart absolutely goes out to them. That number, however, is so small when compared to how many kids are reported missing and are either with family, friends, or have completely run away. The hoofbeats are horses in this case, and horses are runaways. The zebras are the rarity. I know it sucks to say it, but police are not sitting on unlimited resources that can treat every case as an abduction, especially when the numbers don't support that. In a perfect world, they'd have all the money to not only chase down every lead with full force, but deal with all the other garbage they deal with on a daily basis. The world is not perfect.

Honestly, even if they are over the age of 18, they should be checked up on. If they end up leaving of their own free will and aren’t going through some mental health episode, Fine but I would think anyone would want to at least check to make sure they are okay. How many times have we heard the first twenty-four hours are crucial in a missing person’s case?

    Wow, that's something I learned from listening to an FBI agent.

    You have a better chance of survival running from bullets than if you get into a predator's car.
    Parents should teach their kids that.

    • @hnichole
      @hnichole หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mollymelena6104 That's too broad though. If you're a child who's gotten lost, you're probably safer finding an adult to help you than wandering aimlessly to find your parent. If there's an emergency, a child needs to be able to find an adult to help them. Most people who harm children aren't even strangers in the first place, and teaching kids to be wary of strangers isn't keeping them safe from the people who are actually more likely to hurt them. It's also not teaching kids about the real world, because as an adult, you regularly have to interact with strangers.
      A lot of schools are moving away from stranger danger for exactly these reasons. It's more about teaching children to be able to judge who is probably a safe adult and what to do if they encounter situations that feel unsafe.
