My tires keep wearing uneven. 2 mechanics said i need king pins but the other 2 mechanics say they don't know what the problem is? I don't want to just throw 3 grand out the window
I did mine at 10,000 miles. Sold the truck Mar of ‘19 1,128,000 miles original K&P KW W900 ‘07 with 1 of the’06 CAT C 15 Acert we were never inside the engine except for overheads & standard maintenance
I have a fld120 Year 1990 and can someone tell me why I have to replace my brakes every month, Thay are very then or can I replace the part where the brakes go that's the from axel .
It doesn't allow grease to go out when greasing and can allow junk to get in. It is designed so that as you grease the pins the grease can relieve out the seal in the top and bottom grease areas of the axle.
Lots of mileage goes on them trucks and other suspension being worn creates more stress elsewhere also along with driver driving style road conditions etc
I’d love to see the process of re-sleeving the stub axle, it just turns up like magic and gets reinstalled.
Great job and video 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
And the tire looks to be wearing better than mine do and my king pins are not worn out.
Needs an aligament
GREAT JOB SIR.
I could be wrong but isn't the king pin the part of the trailer that connects to the 5th wheel into the locking jaws
Yes, that is ALSO a king pin, but these are king pins too.
@@georgiapatriot4575 got it
Surprised there was anything left of that bushing LOL
Very cool. Are the pins on both sides of the truck usually replaced, even if only one is really bad?
They should be but you do have cheap people who will get 1 done

Do you still drive on it? What's the update
You're truck needs a 3 axle alignment
@@Justin-lp7bl it was shocks
@LAtxien24 noice the fact that it took 4 plus mechanics to figure that out though kinda of scary
Magnetize those special sockets just for pulling washers, spacers etc
Is the trick to prolonging the life of these pins, jacking up the suspension to get better flow of grease? Or is it driving habits?
Just grease it every service. Which is 20k. And it will last a long time
Grease it every 3weeks

How long does this job take?
c the tire jack is fine and dandy but would be much easier to just take the tire off and pull the hub by hand
Is the oil seal replace ? And you can just pull it and push it back ?
Might as well since they are cheap enough
What happens if you put the bearing with the lip part facing up? Just curious

@@chucksnevah2020 appreciate the response back thank you sir!
Why the king pin goes bad if I can ask
Lots of mileage goes on them trucks and other suspension being worn creates more stress elsewhere also along with driver driving style road conditions etc
If you have one for drop axle king pins send me link
yikes deff greasing up my truck once a month
Yep, gotta little slop I’d say.
There wasn't even any swearing are you sure that was a human

This is the least instructive king pin repair video I've ever seen.
Can’t tell is that a good or a bad thing
@@hectormartinez2879 according to him this video doesn't serve his purpose
