@@victorsuarez2954 a proper rated safety glasses won't shatter. It may crack or get deformed but I haven't seen it cracked like the windshield does. I have seen quite a few incidents and safety glasses does really help a lot, but we have our own beliefs and I respect that.

I just got put out of service in the December 2019 DOT inspection with king pins. Sucks, I'm just a 1-truck (International 4300) company, now without any income and not enough cash for the repair. Your video is tempting me to give it a go in my driveway. THANK YOU so much for taking the time to post this video!!! I got shit faced one night and did a face plant on a beer can in my driveway. I got the same black eye, I feel your pain. My license renewal was due the next week so now my new license picture is proof of what an asshole I am. However, people that ask for my ID get a great, drunken story. Thank you again for you video!!!

I know the feeling when it comes to stuck kingpins. The 1.5" ones are a nightmare, the 2" ones come out easier. As a recommendation, when i get a frozen wedge pin, i heat it up cherry red with a torch. Then I lean on it with an air hammer. When it comes to the kingpin, i heat the spindle just a little, and then drive it out with an air chipping hammer. Sometimes i alternate between the chipping hammer, and the 16 .lb sledgehammer. Some guys use kingpin presses, but they are expensive, and don't fit all trucks. And if possible, i like using the spiral kyser king pin kits. No reaming, hardened steel bushings, and they last forever. Hope this helps.

I'm a retired truck mechanic, I remember the old days when the new bushings were just a brass bushing that you installed and then you used a great big reamer and reamed and reamed until the king pin fit the bushing. it was a lot of work. Then later they came up with plastic bushings which was real easy, but they didn't last very long.
