Currently we are #sailing, we're in the #hurricane doing #beryl
This is my type of Huub video, lots of boat maintenance and boat living things that need to be done. This video once again highlights the effort and energy boat living takes that most of us take for granted, whether it is the difficulty getting fuel, potable water, or the simplest of hardware. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chuck! I knew you were gonna like this one :)
These are the ones I love too. Boat stuff.
Hurricane Beryl comes directly your way. Look for a good shelter and all the best!
Glad you got all your repairs & necessary maintenance done.....I hope you had enough time to go as far south as possible ... to Trinidad -Tobago. Beryl's center is tracking over St. Vincent & Grenada and its already got winds over 100mph & forecast is to intensify cat 4 before landfall. Stay Safe!
Daniela is a total cutie pie and as easy as she is on the eyes, I'm very happy to see a video from you guys that isn't blatantly full of shots of Daniela. I enjoyed this video quite a bit and would really like to see more similar to this format from you two. Keep up the good work!
Stay safe from Beryl. All the best!
Glad your repair work is completed and hope all is well with Dani ! Stay safe and thanks for sharing.
A real modern-day Macgyver. Love your maintenance videos...... you are always so resourceful. Please keep encouraging Danny to speak English, she is doing GREAT!! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to next week already. Be safe, be well, and happy sailing.
While the cats away the mouse will work!!🥳. Best of luck with Beryl!👍👍
RUN!!!! I just saw the weather. Going to be cat 4. Don't take chances. Be careful.
Wishing you both the best outcome for this storm. Be safe.
Hope you guys are staying safe from the hurricane.
Laundry. Get a large strong bucket that has a strong clamping lid. Cut a small hole in the center of the lid, big enough for a bathroom plunger handle. Get a new bathroom plunger. Add water, soap, and laundry. Put in the plunger. Close the lid. Churn butter until your laundry is done. Repeat with clear water for a rinse cycles. Buy a laundry ringer / roller to drain the water. Hang to dry.
Haha yeah. I think we'll just use laundry machines on shore :)
@@HuubVlogs 🤣
Some things never change... I bought water with little green bits in it from the Bequia water barge in 1998!
Truly hope you guys are safe!
Great job Huub
I enjoyed the video and missed Daniela on your side
Ik vind jou kanaal steeds beter worden ..super..!
❤ Great video ❤ nice production ❤ Danny is setting right in ❤ Rockin Roll you guys 😊
Thanks Scott!
I hope you stayed safe during Beryl I just saw updates of damage in Carriacou. Terrible considering this is supposed to be out of the normal hurricane belt.
All the best for getting through Beryl..keep safe guys, it looks like a really bad place for you to be.
Drinking water; When I fill up water containers, I add a little bit of chlorine to the water to make sure it is safe to drink. Recommends 4-5 drops per gallon.
Yall,
Stay safe from Beryl.

Thanks!

Thank you Cliff !
Love your fix it videos! They’re the best!
Haha thanks!
Dani English getting so good
With that naughty smile on your face after Danni left, I'm beginning to wonder if it was really Beryl the hurricane you were referring to...
Gracias por compartir la reparación , y donde está mi paisana no me digas que la dejaste ir
I hope you’re safe. I believe the hurricane is past your location.
Huub, another interesting real life on the water episode! Cheers!
Hey bud, did you put the wrong title on this vlog? You never mentioned Beryl in the blog, well you recorded this before Beryl formed. Anyways be safe hopefully Beryl doesn't catch you in Trini... the models show it hitting all the hurricane holes in the lower Caribbean.
Been following you guys for awhile. I hope you guys can get out of the way of this hurricane coming through. Get yourself to safe Harbour. Thoughts are with you safe sailing.
I believe AIS shows they've already arrived in Trinidad Tobago
Regarding unfamiliar mechanisms in tight spaces. I use a selfie stick to get my phone in to have a look or a flashlight and small mirror on a stick. Pros have an endoscope with a light. Fairly cheap and photos of complex things so I remember. Also the magnet on a stick or string saves a lot of lost nuts and bolts
Laundry - ya gotta do it. If you use the soft handled rubbery buckets around .44 meters, 1.4 feet wide at the base. Then you can do the laundry like stomping grapes.
hahaha, I think we'll stick to laundry machines at shore hahaha
@@HuubVlogs You will likely end up doing the grape stomp one day and you'll cut your laundry machine visits by a lot.
Keep on sailing and please keep on posting...
@@HuubVlogs 🤣
You make me smile.
I'm happy to hear that !
Lekker bezig Huub 💪🏼
Stay safe!!💨🌬️
Thanks James!
@@HuubVlogs SVG predicted for Monday: 130 mph winds & 5 inches of rain!
Second system coming mid week
😎
Btw Huub...has Daniela said goodbye for good.? Thank you for sharing.
Hubb,
Looking at a weather forecast, the directional arrow on the map is pointing directly at the Grenadines!!
Yes! I know! Scary!
Yeah, don't play around with hurricanes. Even if you're not in the direct path, the whole experience is very disruptive with everyone closing up shop for a couple of days, power outages, resources diverted to assist neighboring islands, etc.
Nice show👍
Thank you!
I heard that do laundry with salt water, ruins the clothes much faster, it's that true ?
Hope one day see you at porto santo island
It's still far away, but one day yes!
Put that tube of appoxy in a zip lock baggie. Roll it up tight, no air. I was wondering if it worked in saltwater.
It did work! Re plastic, i think it's been in and out of the fridge too much. or just too old...
@@HuubVlogs Yes, plastic air tight zip lock baggie. I was a plumber and that is how a kept it to last the longest..in the darkest coolest place as well.
@@HuubVlogs keep it in the original tube, just cut it down to the same size as to prevent air. If you could.
I often wonder why not many boaters keep a activated charcoal inline filter that they can just connect to the end of hose water feed before into portable water containers. You coukd even make some sort of generic connections on the end of water filter that would adapt to any hose by using maybe a quick clamp or normal hose clamps.
We have multiple filters between the tank and the water tap. But don't show that every day on youtube hehe
@@HuubVlogs Yeah, I was just thinking of filtering the water right from the source which keeps the container clean and prolong the life of the filters on the boat. It was just a thought. I've seen boaters ending up contaminating thier water system on the boat even after they confirmed the water tasted fine prior to filling the containers and transporting them to the boat or even when they bring the boat to the source. Some people even had cyst growing on their skin due to contaminated water.
👍👍⛵️⚓️⛵️♥️
Are you 2 ok??
Heading South doesn't look like a good idea right now
Liked and commented. Others please do the same. They need the moola for a bigger boat, one with a head door!
Hahaha, yes to a head door !
I read somewhere that you could do laundry on a boat by putting it in a mesh bag and towing it in your wake. I'm not sure if that will work, though.
Don't try it on a warship. I wore the same clothes for 3 weeks to Panama after my "shipmates" told me to avoid the laundry just toss in a mesh bag with a bar of soap over the stern........
Yes. Rosie Swale did it on their round Cape Horn voyage, as seen in "Children of Cape Horn" book. However, dishwash liquid formula helps breaks down the negative impact of salt water on clothes, and also does an ok job of washing hair with salt water. The big question is, why when you're in the tropics, are you wearing clothes anyway.? This is the 21st century surely. Don't look, if it embarrasses you.!! 😮 Very strange.!
I was hoping you were going to be safe and secure when this system named Beryl comes through. On the other hand my prayers for Daniela's issue at home. She tried to hide it, but I saw some hurt/pain in her eyes? Please stay safe to you both.
Thank you Dave !
BERYL is coming, how far north do you plan on going to get away from it?
he's been in Trinidad for a couple weeks now all he can do is pray.
Volgende week weer terug :)
Beryl looks mean 😳
It does!
🇹🇷🇹🇷👍👍
Huub,
What type of dodger do you have?
R/ Jim Grigsby

Hi Jim, it was made by the previous owner in Guatemala. I have no idea!
Is this the first time Daniela has been separated from you?
