- Former chief operating officer of the Post Office David Miller has denied “lying through my teeth” when he told the inquiry he had not read a damning expert report about the Horizon system.
Sam Stein KC, who represents a number of subpostmasters, asked the witness: “Mr Miller, one of two things arise from that, you’re either lying through your teeth or you’re a complete incompetent - which?”

It seems to me that the entire senior management of the Post Office were not actually doing anything for their salaries. They neither read anything, said anything, did anything, spoke to anyone, this guy has got it spot on they are either lying through their back teeth or are uselessly incompetent. Jail time beckons.

And yet when the Post Masters and Mistresses when they said they didn't understand why the system wasn't working the PO said too bad you're going to jail. I think the same thing should be done, ignorance is no defense in the law.
It was all about protecting the reputation of the P.O./Horizon. They were quite prepared to sacrifice anyone to do that. Paula Vennells and the rest never thought this would ever come out, so they lied and covered their tracks as best they could.
As he declares he was not lying through his teeth so he was incompetent, can we claw back his bonuses and stop his large pension?

I don't see why not I mean, he seemed to agree to a lack of competence so he didn't earn those bonuses it would appear.
They're bound to deny any wrong doings because to say anything else is to admit being guilty of corporate misconduct. Which is becoming more apparent as the enquiry goes on.

Absolutely this. It's not two alternatives, it's one conclusion. Lying is a symptom of incompetence.

They went to the right schools and know the "right" people, we've all worked with them, the ones who never make an error (because they tend to do f*** all) but make themselves look very busy in front of senior managers and so get promoted because they've learnt the tricks.

Whether he read it or not I’m sure he was fully aware what it was saying about Horizon. It’s difficult not to believe that they knew the truth about horizon and that they knew they were prosecuting innocent people and sending them to jail. The alternative would have to be some mass delusion, probably a bit of both was going on. Personally I’m not interested in revenge and punishment, although they fully deserve it, what I would like to happen is for the people at the post office to tell the truth so we can all understand what was really going on and why. That way the sub post masters would at least get some closure as well as getting adequately compensated.

Criminal negligence and corrupt conduct. Why are not the PO executives and those of Fujitsu not been criminal prosecuted?
The best bit is that they ALL awarded themselves massive bonuses,even though THEY have the monopoly.Nothing will get done,they wont have to pay back their salary or bonus,but the govt will STILL go after a guy who gets a few quid when he shouldnt.

The scary factor would be, if any of these senior staff are still in their jobs today! Are they not, at the very least, suspended until this enquiry is completed! Surely, such incompetent bodies can not be left in charge of this business!

It all started with despicable David Miller, who convinced everyone that it was all the fault of the sub postmasters. Why isn't he in prison?
This is one of many people in the post off management that need to face legal charges and face criminal investigation.

Imagine, at your place of work, some money goes missing. You get blamed. If you deny it you are threatened with court resulting in prison. Or if you admit it you just get a suspended sentence or community punishment. So to avoid prison you admit guilt. Over and done with you think. Then your company sues you for court costs because you were found guilty, you owe £350,000 in court costs. Your life ruined. This company is called the Post Office. Their logo is " whatever you need us for, we're here for you". They spent £100 million in expensive lawers to try to avoid paying £58 million in compensation. The class action saw the incorrectly convicted see £20,000 in compensation after court costs. The executive salaries were between £250,000 and £500,000. Post Office investigators were given bonuses for every Horizon conviction
These lying incompetents, yes both, shame this country! If people from the Post Office management team don’t end up in prison, this country’s shame will be compounded. If you told someone from outside Britain, this story, they just wouldn’t believe you!
The inquiry will not have any affect as its not going to go to court and no one from fujistu will get prosecuted. This whole thing is jist to pacify the public

We need to see two faced lying Post Office executives (seen here) and their lying lawyers and investigators serving jail time for this and heavy compensation for their victims and the families of lost victims.

Usually it's both.....the incompetence leads to lying. In this case he probably skimmed through a report without bothering to pay attention.
There are bunches of liars who should be prosecuted for perverting the course of justice for pursuing malicious prosecution. They should also be pursued via civil limbs for damages caused to the Post Office for paying compensations to the sub postmasters.
