- A remarkable exchange too place between Jason Beer KC and Jarnail Singh, solicitor and former lawyer at Royal Mail Group and Post Office, after he claimed that he could not print or save documents.
The lawyer was presented with evidence that appeared to show otherwise during a back and forth that saw the KC challenged the lawyer on his testimony over the events that lead to the wrongful convictions of many sub-postmasters.

This is unreal. The guy is basically admitting to being completely stupid and incompetent in an attempt to save his skin. It's embarrassing.
👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
Being stupid and incompetent is Legal Defence which is being used
He thinks he can outsmart that JB....hold my Beer!
No, he's not admitting to anything, he's simply lying on oath, because an oath means nothing!
As far as I know, stupidity and incompetence, are no defence for committing a crime, if it were every criminal arrested would get away with it because most never admit it and pretend to be unaware of it being a crime, so all who was involved have to be charged regardless of their incompetence and saying that they don't remember or didn't read it, these people responsible for the appalling actions against the subpostmasters have to be charged and some have to go to prison.
You can tell Jason Beer KC is barely containing his anger with and contempt for this depraved liar!
Mr. Beer is doing a sterling job. He's earning his very good money.
I admire his brain power.
Jason seems to have a cold so possibly had a lower degree of tolerance for the usual BS than normal!

So we're saying the computer info proves Singh is a liar, and proves he knew to not trust computer info in the prosecutions? Do you see the irony. Computer records can be wrong and show guilt, but turns out it was total error and 100% not as it appeared. Computer info which can random has zero real weight. But we are too lazy to use pen and paper, we suck, don't just blame the 1 executive who didn't notice.
YOU ARE A LIAR, MR SINGH. YOU NEED JAIL TIME, JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED.
Yep, jail time will give him some time to think and remember what he did to innocent people. He needs it.
All the people involved should do jail time.
They Will.
👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
Why? Most people were doing what they were told, just as I do in my job. People like Singh are paid to be responsible. THEY are responsible, not 'everyone involved'. They are paid to make sure that everyone (normal people with only local specialisms) comply with legal requirements.
All their assets taken from them also
Especially this Criminal Lawyer
Although I was wearing a balaclava and brought my own shotgun, I was unaware that I was attending a bank robbery.
😂
The thought of Jarnail Singh with a shotgun is terrifying! 😳
Absolutely disgusting lies, received, saved and printed within 10 minutes or so, and he says he doesn't know how to save a document!
He doesn't know what a document is. He doesn't know what email is. He's never heard of a computer before. Does it even have an on/off button? Doesn''t know what his job is or who was responsible for what?
I'm not even sure why any post office staff are giving testimony, when all were getting from it is second hand embarrassment.
He's a snake in suit!
Yes many managers in 2000 at age 40 didn't know how to save attachments from their email. Truly most were new to the technology then. It's also hilarious we trust computer records now but entire problem is conputer records are NOT reliable often. We all are making SAME mistake we are yelling about ..
@@fredsmith1970 He should have just said, "I'm quite embarrased to admit it, but I didn't know how to read in 2010."
@@noonientrekdfaasd Hi, the Horizon issue(s) were not just due to records being wrong as such, there were two main contributing factors...
1) Horizon run reconciliation around 7pm on a Wednesday. This can only work properly if no-one at the Post Office branch is keying transactions onto Horizon at that point in time. So it ends up adding the wrong things. For reconcilaition of a financial syste, the database being reconcilied needs to be static. (there were multitude other defects, but this was the main one)
2) Fujitsu had direct access to each branch's data - so could manipulate figures their being any audit trail of that manipulation.
Also, this wasn't in the 2000's (in terms of the wtiness statement and evidence being talked about), this was from around 2010 to 2013, when email was much more prevalent.
And, if you listen to what he says when being questioned, he's implying he has no knowledge of how to do any of those computer related things (in 2024!!)
He's either grossly incompetent or lying (though probably both)

I hope the NHS can cope with the huge increase in dementia cases we've seen during this inquiry...it really is very frightening that those in charge are so forgetful.
The real question is: Who gave him a job? Who carried out his appraisals? They should be sacked for incompetency.....
The most blatant lies and pathetic disassembling I've seen so far. Whether or not this weasel "recalls" receiving, seeing or printing the emails is totally irrelevant - he DID. The evidence clearly proves it.
👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
👍 spot on. Akin to… I have no recollection of driving while drunk, therefore I’m not guilty your honour.
And the outlook audit trail records exactly that.
Bet he remembers being paid
Simply astonishing, he's a brazen, shameless liar.
How could the post office hire a solicitor who apparently does not understand the consequences of lying under oath? Let's hope his memory improves in prison.
The simple fact is he was compliant to the post office narrative of we must protect the brand at all costs so people must be jailed and we think you’re the man to do it,just convict at all costs ,he must have been handsomely rewarded for his complicity,I can only see long jail sentences for him and a few others
That's exactly why they hired him
He won't be selected for the prison quiz team. He won't remember receiving the questions.
By his own admission today, he complimented Mr Beer for calling him '...a letter box...'.
He's not British. Doesn't have empathy at all.
Time to question this liar's staff to see WHO printed off these emails...😡
Couldn't save a document but could do teams meeting.... really.. probably can't tie his shoe laces either😂

what did this guy actually do ? He was a senior criminal lawyer at the PO, yet refuses to admit he was responsible for anything at all, even his own cases. He was ‘asked by Susan’ to attend a meeting in Edinburgh, but didn’t bother to ask her why he was to attend. He didn’t contribute anything to the meeting ( or so he says) and didn’t report back on what happened So why on earth did he travel to Edinburgh for the meeting ?
Golf and dinner on expenses?
Senior criminal lawyers are renowned for their retentive memory, quick wit and responsive behaviour during a trial, where was all that in what appeared to be a trial for him today. What's it like to be in that position mate?
The FACT it has his C/drive string with his name on it is clear EVIDENCE against him, and PROVES he’s lying! Dumb and Dumber all in one.

I'm wondering if they can go through his emails to see if he made any reference to saving or printing a document
@@davidgriffithsbjjcoach7207 I am sure they can & probably already have. A lawyer will always only ask the questions needed & never give anything away unless they are legally required to (like this horrible lawyer did not do to the victims of the PO scandals).
