- Porsche has been making GT cars for 20 years, and its latest offering is the 2020 718 Cayman GT4 - its mid-engined sports car which returns with a naturally-aspirated flat-six engine. Praise be. But while it's a great Cayman, just how good is it when compared to other great Porsche GT cars?

Like what @john mitchell said, they probably won't do it due to the 911. They've said that they can do one and might, the GT department wants to, but they may not due to the 911s and accountants.
You can still order the GT4 with 20" wheels, club sport package, ceramic composite brakes & lightweight carbon full buckets which turns it into a pretty nice club sprint or Targa car.

Having a 3rs as featured i can only agree with the sentiment although the new models with RWS have added to the dynamics these days what only GT models could do in the past 👍🏻

The GT4 is the perfect mountain road car. Size, handling and still usable power. It not being an RS version is actually a good thing. Makes it easier to live with day to day or while on the way to the mountain.
Give me the Cayman Any day. Manual transmission is “Magnifique”. The engine is in the same spot as the Porsche racecars that go in the 24 hour marathons.

Im still a Carrera GT fan...its my all time favourite. It think with a Gemballa package on the inside but the standard outside. Thats my sweet spot.
Love these long form reviews, especially when done by someone like Matt who can drive and understands chassis dynamics. Still thinking about the argument that turbo cars more controllable on the limit ...

Great video. Very detailed and love the sideways action on the GT2 RS. I totally agree with your thoughts on the GT4. It will be spectacular if they ever give it a GT engine. The 997 GT3 RS 3.8 and 4.0 models are so engaging and are hard to match for driver involvement.

991.2 GT3 RS is my favourite. Had the pleasure of driving the newest RS models from Porsche, and the GT3 RS has the best combination of engine and handling in my opinion.
The 2 companies you can do this kind of video for! My 2 favourite Porsche and BMW. Nothing comes close

I ADORE the new 718 GT4, NA 4l 6cylinder boxer and manual what more do you want? I just want one so bad in miami blue, with the yellow-GT-stiching and all the track focused stuff, PCCB, bucket seats etc. And its such an awesome car but costs less than the standart 3l turbo Carrrera with less hp lower top speed etc. And looks so good
