Thank you Mr. Silverrailz. I'm doing a repaint on it now, and removed the plastic tube which actually improved the smoke output. A sequel will follow, so stay tuned.
Thanks Terry. If you check another one of my videos, you'll find one of my builds with two separate smoke units working independently. Marx on one side, Lionel on the other. Check it out and let me know what you think.
@davidcraft3103 Thanks for the vote of confidence in me Dave, but I already moved the stack back a while ago due to popular demand. Now if you want to see smoke, check out my latest video featuring the Horror Express Halloween train!
Great work! Don't change it. The brass is beautiful! It looks really nice as is.. 👏😊
I agree, the way it looks nowis great and runs great.
Ok thanks. I'm keeping track (pardon the pun) of the comments.
Ok, looks like the nays have it.
And the nays have it. The stack stays in place.
Good looking locomotive! Great conversion job. What a nice layout! Love the climb up to the long bridge span! Just great!
Thanks, and glad you enjoyed it. I'm doing a repaint on it and will have a sequel ready in about a week. Stay tuned.
Nice going! Very clever. I admire your track plan. Keeps a train going. 😊
Thanks Ronald. That's just one of three lines on the layout.
Cool custom Jr. Torpedo. 😎👍
Thanks John K.
Looks good, runs well - nice job

It looks & runs great!
Thanks John. I do plan on doing a repaint and getting the smoke to 'puff' a bit better.
A smart looking Lionel 1688 👍👍 Have you considered doing this locomotive with a dual smokestack 🙂🙂

Could you fit a piece of rubber tube instead of plastic like the old American Flyers?
@@MygrandpasTrain The material wouldn't make any difference. But I did remove the tube, and it did make an improvement.
What is the green, silver and brown steam loco on the layout?
Good observation. That is a standard Marx 666 that I painted in a Southern Crescent motif.
@@Marxmotorman Sounds nice! We all out here would like to see more pictures of it.
Ok then Matt. I'll try to showcase it within the next few weeks.
Using a steel pointed pointer really makes me nervous. How about a chop stick instead?
Doesn't bother me a bit. It is better than using my fat fingers which blocks the view. Besides, I don't use chop sticks.
@@Marxmotorman Those plastic toothpicks may serve as an option.. 🙏😊
Me likem plenty good. I`m trying to squeeze a Marx 400 S/R motor into a Cast Brass Clad 1939 420 Flyer Shell.
Hey Plunker. Those prewar AFs are really attractive with the brass all polished up. Good luck, and me want seeum when done.
Move the stack back. It’s too far forward on the boiler already and sounds like you already have a good plan to move it back!
Thanks, Bluesharpie, but so far it looks like the nays have it. I might have a solution to the smoke problem without the surgery, so stay tuned.
Leave the stack where it is just make a smoke unit smoke a lot more-you can do it.
