    If anyone is experiencing difficulty with the Wrap node, it appears that the Wrap function of the math node has a new default setting of 0.5 for both min and max values (I'm using Blender 3.0). They also seem inverted, so I needed a max of .5 and min of 0.00 to achieve the same result

    I was think about a nice little shortcut ,might be nice when showing the node tree or other stuff.
    CTRL + SPACE to maximize the area
    CTRL + ALT + SPACE to full screen the area under the mouse cursor

      Yes, this is a hard dry clay material.

  • @lawrencedoliveiro9104

    2:23 The trouble with Perlin noise is that high values of the Detail setting make very little difference. This is because of the attenuation of higher frequencies. Try Musgrave noise instead, with a lower “Dimension” value (this reduces the high-frequency attenuation), if you want a grittier look.

    • @RyanKingArt

      thanks for the info.

    • @lawrencedoliveiro9104
      @lawrencedoliveiro9104 ปีที่แล้ว

      Though, watching your videos further, I notice you can restore a lot of that grittiness just by enhancing the contrast.

    So as a new person coming to Blender. Do you guys have to go through and make this thing every time you want to add a clay material to your models?

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, you can append in the material data into any Blender file to use for your projects. Also, you can use Blender's amazing asset browser to manage your assets.

      @@RyanKingArt hey Ryan..I'm a doctor..I am trying to make bone texture for my project and not able to figure it out..pleaseee help!?

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@maheshaliasboya Hmm, I've never tried making realistic bones before. But I can tell you how I would attempt to make bones. First, I would Model the Basic shape of the Bones. Then I would go into Blenders sculpt mode, and sculpt the shape better and add more details on the bones. Then if needed, you could retopoligize the sculpture. To make the texture of the bones, I would either make it with Procedural nodes, or I might try texture painting it. Hope this helps.

    Would it be too much to ask for an explanation of the logic behind making these materials?

    • @PGonc10
      @PGonc10 ปีที่แล้ว

      i'm starting to understand it, but it's till the most difficult for me.

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  ปีที่แล้ว

      The benefits of creating materials procedurally is that you don't have to use UV mapping, and you can also edit and customize the material. You can also scale up the material over a large surface without tiling, because the texture is all procedural.

    This was amazing. Clear instructions, plus it's simple enough to do if you understand node basics. Best of all, the result looks almost photo-realistic. Check out this pot I whipped up using your shader, it looks fantastic!

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is supposed to be a dry clay material. Not wet or soft clay. Sort of like a dry clay pot. If you search online for photos of a clay pot, you will see what I'm meaning.

      Yeah, I was going for like a dry clay, like a clay pot or something. I'm thinking about maybe doing a tutorial on some soft we clay as well.
