2023 Trek Marlin 4 Gen 2 Walkaround Review and Actual Weight

I own two Marlins - a 7 and 8. These are great bikes and very versatile. The only thing I don’t like on the Marlin 4 is the freewheel instead of a cassette. That makes it hard to upgrade down the road.

I agree, a cassette body is the way to go. My guess is they were trying to get the price down.

The official specification shows the 14.60 kg / 32.19 lbs weight of Marlin 4 Gen 2. Probably they weighed it without pedals.

maybe, but the weight is advertised as specd and it is specd with pedals.
