      I had the same thought. Welcome in the algorythmic brain time economy. To sum it up, it's like getting in a school and make content based on what the students think has value: World of War craft, counter strike. The teacher's history class or mathematic class weight less in the algorythm, it's boring

    Nicely explained. It's sad that even Rode itself doesn't explain this feature in detail.... They don't even have a full manual but sparce information in the website

  • @HowardOlsen
    @HowardOlsen ปีที่แล้ว

    Vielen Dank! Yes, as others have said, you broke it down beautifully. There is one more use case. I'm a solocaster who lives on Zoom for non stop meetings and does a daily LiveStream over zoom with live attendees then RTMP streams the live zoom into FB and YT. I use the RCPII as a usb interface as well as a mixer and need my computer audio played from desktop speaker so I can hear system sound and my zoom attendees but sending my mic to the speaker creates all kinds of nasty feedback. I actually returned the RCPII and the Mixcast 4 because of this and just reverted to simply using my USB interface. With this beta, I will repurchase the RCPII. Thank you for the brilliant explanation.

    Something which may sound obvious to many, but that as a beginner I didn't understood is that submixes do not listen to other outputs.
    For example,I was wondering if by adding let's say usb 1 to itself and to usb2, we get everything routed in usb1 automatically in usb2. Now that I think about it, it's intuitive, it wouldn't make sense to loop like this as it defits the purpose of submixes, but I'm sure it's a little confusing detail for beginners. Each "sub-mixes" are independant from each other when it comes to inputs.

    Now that we have analog output submix routing, is there a use case when one would create a submix audio out and then use that as an input for further mixing or other processing? Example, mixing a custom output to headphone 2 and then connecting that back in as analog microphone input 2.

    • @PodcastMeister
      @PodcastMeister  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure there is - like it would exactly be the case if you would want to do a wired mix-minus with a phone, you‘d just beed to put an iRig2 adapter in the middle.

    Haha brilliant as ever, I will have to go through it a couple of times Mr Meister, to fully absorb it! I'm thinking of setting up a submix for my on air partner coming in via Stream yard(been having issue with WebVt on PlayoutOne,recording the cue from the "track out and in" being recorded as well as my mic and USB2 in (both from the same PC, to try and keep latency down).Thanks again :-)

    I have to say your description of this is amazing. As a non-audio pro, I find this board very interesting. Could you possibly do a video on how to set this up for Microsoft Teams. You've come close to that before, but what I think is missing is what audio gets sent where. For instance, I'd like the ability to output the audio from websites at times, and right now it isn't doing that. I can send the smartpad sounds, my main mic, and I assume that Bluetooth will work, but what I can't figure out is how to turn on and off the ability for it to send audio sounds from my computer out to the main mix (and how to mute it as well). This is important as often in my presentations to customers I want to show a video and have the sound go out, but at other times, I might want to listen to you during a boring conference call, and I'm not sure how to make sure that audio DOESN'T then go out.
    Thanks again for all that you do!

    Have it been updated to more single person friendly, gaming/streaming ? like on the GOXLR you have multiple audio cables in windows that let you set apps for lets say console, game, system, etc etc, have this been possible on the RCP2 ? so i can have mic on one slider, discord on one, game on one, system on one ? or is it still just the 2 audio cables and not really much of a routing like the goxlr ? thinking of upgrading but as of what ive seen, its a downgrade regarding splitting audio

    I am on the newest driver and røde central version.

    Hi, can you please help me? This problem is the same with any FF with 1.0.7 stable, beta 1.0.8,1.0.9, 1.1.0. When I have RCP2 2x USB plugged into my PC all game sounds are suppressed. The music plays perfectly but the sounds do not. All sounds System Win 10 are set to 2.0 stereo everywhere and nowhere is surround sound used, neither in the system nor in the game and yet the sounds are suppressed or missing completely. It seems to me that RPC2 probably favors surround sound for some reason. If I disconnect the RPC2 completely from the PC, i.e. disconnect the 2x usb cable and plug in the internal sound card on the motherboard there is no problem. The problem occurs whenever I have the RPC2 plugged in. I don't know where to set what anymore. This way RPC2 is unusable for me :( Thank you for any help.

      Hi, I can think of 2 potential settings that can cause this:
      1, Outputs > Routing: pls check if all USB channels are set to “Main Mix” (unless you are using one of them for chat, in which case to “Mix-Minus”)
      2, Outputs > Multitrack: click on the “USB”-tab and set it to “Off”.
      If the issue still persists, I’d suggest you submit a bug report to Rode (assuming you are part of the beta program): you can find the “Submit feedback” button in your welcome email to the beta testing program. My impression is that these feedbacks are taken seriously.

    I'm using the Rodecaster Pro 2, which allows me to set submixes where I can adjust my monitoring volume lower than the final output. There are four headphone outputs, and I can customize this setting for all four. However, this feature seems to work for outputs 2, 3, and 4 but not for the first channel. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I've checked the settings and everything seems correct, but I can't seem to adjust the monitoring volume lower on the first channel. Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated! Could it be possible that this feature simply doesn't function on the first channel?

    I'm wondering and hoping you could check something for me. I've got the beta FW and have set up submixes to each of the Headphone outputs, but I cannot create a submix for the monitor output. No options appear, just a warning. Is this the same on your unit. I just loaded the latest beta 1.1.0. Thanks

    • @PodcastMeister
      @PodcastMeister  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, for me the "Custom" option is there also for the monitor output, and I can create a submix for it, just like with the other outputs. Røde has just released the stable firmware 1.1.1 along with Røde Central v2.0.17 - try updating it, it should work.
