Don't worry about the context, these campfire chats are great as well, whatever works. I like your idea of the c-can idea (that's what we call them) We have a couple of sheds. One is converted into a little barn with stalls and a hallway. It has been great for me and I love it because it is also multipurpose. Sometimes our ambitions are so big and expensive and we just have to be flexible in our plans. It's good to reevaluate. Don't forget to get some sleep in there as well.
💕💕💕thanks sweet friend
I was really looking forward to helping on a barn build. I'm so sad now. ha ha Sounds like you have a good plans moving forward.

Hi Crystal and Mr. Reaves. 😀😀
I would hope you might reconsider the size of the lean to on the conx from 8 feet too 12 feet. 8 feet is so small you can hardly turn yourself around in it. Isn't that much more cost for 4 more feet and I'm sure you will be much happier with it.
Just a thought. 😀😀
Take care my friends!!😀😀💚💚
Logger Al
Hey friend. Good idea. It’s not about the cost, but there are a few variables that go into it. The snow load on a roof span of that size and the trusses needed to support that snow load of 100 pounds per square foot, the space we have and the necessary space needed for snow lanes between the house and the Connex (not to mention the cabin roofs snow shed) and the space that we have before we hit the tree line on the north side in order to turn the tractor around and equipment around to get to that side of the connex. It all has many variables considered maybe that’s why it takes us so long to get anything done. Ha! In a very perfect world, everything would be big and done. Ha!
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska I understand!! I really have never seen the space you have. 2x8 rafters 16 on center will be more than strong enough on a 12 foot span for the amount of snow you get I'm sure. Especially if the pitch is steep enough for it to shed the snow on it own.
Hi Al! I just saw these comments. My magic number is 8 feet. That allows me to use 2x6 rafters. I can mill 2x6 rafters with the trees around here, but we don’t get big enough trees to make it worth milling 2x8s. Good point though. Thanks for joining us!
@@Mr.ReeveFlatTireFarm you are way cooler than me at explaining things. 💕
You both lost the time bet. Haha. Sad to hear no barn this year but totally understand. The market is rewarding but very time consuming. Glad to hear about the Connex barn.
@@PeacefulAlaskaLiving thanks friend. 😊
Hey, you two. Hope the Meet-Up wasn't a washout. It's been raining at our place since about 6 pm yesterday. Luckily, I finished with the burn barrel at 4😅. Miss Crystal, I really don't know how you put out all the products that you do. I used to do peanut & almond brittle when we lived in SoCal, 3 or 4 weekend events during the year. It would wipe me out! Had it streamlined as best I could, but it was still a full week or more of cooking & packaging before each show (full time day job too, like you). I tip my baseball cap to you and Mr. Reeve😊.
What stove do you have for your sauna? We have plans to build one, too. Haven't bought any materials yet... The location just changed due to another build going where it was going😂. Now, it's going by the chicken coop. We still need to build that, too. A friend keeps asking when we are going to get chickens. My answer is always: "Right after we get the coop and run built." We aren't doing that "Get chicks, then build a coop" thing.😂
Have a great rest of the weekend!
Ha! It’s just a little $100 barrel stove with a grate for a cooktop. 😊. No ready fire aim for you? Ha! Bless you miss Dee. 💕
