    Next time when you saw a piece of acrilic, please use some painters tape for edge protection and/or soapy water. You will saw a lot more easy and less change of damage.

    Nicely done, both the design of the sign and the video. Of the several I've watched, this one is really well paced, well edited and thorough. I'm working up a design of my own and it's helpful to see how you problem solved. It looks, to my untrained and ignorant eye, like you went with a parallel circuit? Any particular reason?

    • @majorhavoc
      @majorhavoc  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi 👋, thanks for the compliment, very kind of you. As regards the circuit I just went with wiring that could be hid behind the letters better and so I just worked it out as I went along. The LED’s are very low current draw so it doesn’t matter how they are wired as long as they each get a live & neutral 👍👍

  • @JoeTattoo
    @JoeTattoo ปีที่แล้ว +5

    great work! but i'd use transparent wires instead red/black. The problem would be always check polarity and lose time

    Hi, great video!
    How did you deal with the lenght of the pieces?
    Usually you need a lenght that's longer or shorter than the distance where you can cut

    • @majorhavoc
      @majorhavoc  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi 👋 thanks, by folding the led strip over inside the silicone, I did that I think on the “H” centre 👍👍

  • @w0nder1070
    @w0nder1070 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've watched about 10 different videos and this one is maybe the best one with limited tools. Who has money to spend on a 3D printer, Laser Printer, or even a CNC router machine? I know I don't. Now this method may take a little more time depending on the design but it definitely cheaper than the previous options when all you want to do is maybe like 2 signs or so and worth it imo.

    Been making a few signs using this video as my initial inspiration, so thank you for the informative video! My biggest issue has been with cutting the acrylic sheet. I have tried different jigsaw blades and a drywall cut out tool and run into issues with the jigsaw shattering/cracking the acrylic (1/8th inch thickness) and the drywall bit running away from me when cutting. Any suggestions for getting cleaner cuts like you achieved, without ruining the acrylic? Thanks in advance!

    Awesome vid man, im wanting to get into this as a hobby. did you cover your wires going to the plug with anything or did you just leave as is?

    • @majorhavoc
      @majorhavoc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks 😊, I left the wires bare because I use the sign in lots of different places and with different power supplies so I’m always changing connectors. If the sign was permanently fixed I would solder in a switch and use a 240v (UK) to 12v mains power supply. There are so many things you can make with neon rope, it’s a good hobby. Have fun🫡

    I think the only thing I would’ve added were to add shrink wrap tubing to the wires so they’re all black. How do you handle power? Is it always battery-powered? Also for wiring, are they in a series or parallel circuit?
