Yeah, but will it be equitable? If women expect to be pampered and strongly expect that, boys and men may be more likely to subtly or not-so-subtly dismiss certain human adult aspects of them; and vice-versa.
In Russia, a woman and a man are not equal. In Russia, a man should always, a woman can in many cases choose to be strong or weak. A woman's choice is always influenced by circumstances.

What you’re doing is very important. Many germans have a completely distorted view of Russia due to the propaganda. I have visited Russia two times long ago, I hope I will visit it again. It is a wonderful country with mostly kind and open minded people. Already in the 80s most russian women in Moscow had more self-confidence than many women in western societies.

I am from Istanbul. There are a lot of russians living here, our cultures are somewhat similar especially about gender roles and such, once I met a russian guy and I asked him out, on our date he said that he is surprised about me asking him out so early. Of course everyone is different :)

I don't know how they talk in Russian but from the subtitles they seem to speak so elegant.
Actually in russian they sound even better and deeper, the translation sometimes does not reflect all of what being said.

Я вот не понимаю. За какие равные права борются феминистки, если у нас они и так уже давно есть. Вы историю в школе проходили? Ещё в 30-х годах при СССР началось движение за освоение женщинами мужских профессий. Моя мама заканчивала инженерную специальность. И работала на заводе. Моя теща заканчивала лучший в СССР химический институт и работала химиком-технологом. А это сердце завода: именно химик-технолог решает какие именно ингредиенты и в какой пропорции нужно смешивать, чтобы получилось хорошее моющее средство или яблочный сок, или ещё какая продукция. Хочешь - работаешь по любой специальность, хочешь - выбираешь сидеть дома с детьми.
Голосовать? Это право у нас есть. Учится и работать там где хочешь? Это право у нас есть. Отправить мужа в декретный отпуск вместо себя? Это право у нас есть. Домашние обязанности? Это решается индивидуально в каждой семье. Так за какие равные права вы боретесь, если они у нас и так уже давно есть?

So I have been living in Russia for 19 years , and I want to say that u will not face discrimination if u have character and self-confidence, u will be able to build a career just like any man, and gender stereotypes in our country are gradually coming to naught🙏
I am from United Kingdom and majority of people here split the bills because we believe even we have different genders men and women are equal and both considered as human beings with flesh, bone, feelings, emotions and pains. So it's fair both to be treated equally.
While talking about being a feminist with friends I realized that every country has it own definition of what it actually really is.
If the actual theory was taught in schools all countries would be on the same page about what feminism is. If people don’t teach kids about communism they will not recognize a communist takeover until it is too late. One look at the West today and it’s obvious.

They give me the impression of having very good relationships with themselves. I wish that British Girls were more like this. I think that at one time they were, but now not so much. It is impressive how modern and open Russian society is with regards to the women, but now I want to see a video interviewing the men.
What always calls attention in these videos is how well educated the people are on them, how regular people can express themselves in complex ways. If you contrast this with some other major countries like the US, the educational system speaks volumes.

@@Maximum7077 As a girl from Russia, I want to tell you education is mostly similar in different regions of Russia. So, all schools have the same program of studying. And when pupils graduate a school they are already educated enough to express themselves. I know the pupils have different program of studying in the USA depending on the school or region. Of course there are such people which can't express thoughts in a structured and consistent manner, but there are very few of them. I think there are such people everywhere and in every country. By the way the education in the university is not the most important thing that is an index of educations or knowleanges. In Russia it is mostly outdated trend. You know when your parents told you that you must go to the university otherwise you will be miserable and poor... But the education in the Russian university is extremely outdated and inefficient often. That is why many people try to go foreign universities. And many employers pay attention to the experience. So unfortinantly Russian education is useless for many people...
They are bit behind in terms of feminism over there, after a few generations the destructive effect of feminism will have degenerated their minds as well.
Russia has a very good education and it's true, but for some reason the best institutions of Russia, MSU and MGIMO, in the world ranking are for some reason ranked 100th 😁🤣🤣🤣

I think your interviewees had well nuanced perspectives. We are equal, but not the same and that's ok.
I'm positively surprised by the answers these young ladies gave. In Western countries, where women's rights are in more advanced stages, women do not seem to be that articulate and direct, while in Russia, they presented their thoughts with clarity and respect. Being a feminist doesn't need to be translated into losing your femininity, and these Russian ladies are the perfect example of that. Thank you for sharing

Женщины наравне с мужчинами воевали, на своих плечах несли работу в тылу на военных заводах, и восстановление страны после войны. У женщин было столько прав и обязанностей, а мужчин в живых осталось так мало, что мы нахлебались этого очень много! Никто никогда не ущемляет женщин в карьере, только потому что она женщина! Про дискриминацию. Работал я как-то в строительном магазине подходит мужик , спрашивает что-то о товаре. Подходит девушка , мой куратор с опытом работы 5 лет, хочет помочь с выбором. Мужик начал ее отгонять, аргументируя , что она девушка , что она вообще в этом может понимать xD , это при том , что у меня на тот момент от силы было 1 месяц опыта. Это был самый "дискриминирующий" случай, который я видел
мужик этот козлина, женщины умнее и в разы порядочнее современных мужчинок , мне жаль наших женщин, которые не смогут найти себе пару среди Наших Военных или Рабочих , остальные - это абсолютный позор и балласт

@Marco Zepeda anger depends on who was provocative . If courts value emotional hurt then it is tangible and you can retaliate with physical hurt and vice versa.
But you are missing the main point. You are being with a partner because you trust them. If you get hit by your partner, then leave the partnership because trust is broken. I don't understand why courts have to get involved in a human relationship. If you can't even trust the person you choose and use government to create security (domestic abuse laws) for you to be with your partner, then that's not a real relationship. It's failing and inability on your part to successful judge your partners character. That's just projecting your insecurity on other person just for you to feel safe. No one needs rights for anyone. Rights are a lie to transfer power. For instance , creating domestic abuse laws will give the emotional abuser a leverage over physical abuser. There is a subconscious threat placed on you and you will feel repressed.

So many of these women you interviewed have incredible intelligence that as a Canadian man, I do not see this level of intelligence from Canadian women. The women you interviewed show great common sense and realize the difference between men and women. All they ask for is be treated fairly and with respect.

I totally agree with the part that feminism means eliminating violence against women. That shouldn’t need to be even talked about as a right, a man NEVER raises his hand to a woman. The flip side is a woman never disrespects a man, and understands that what she does has an effect on him and this needs to be important in how she treats him.
Theory is nice and all, but have you actually lived a real life with real people? Disrespecting each other at least sometimes is the reality of all serious relationships, because disrespect is subjective and has not a fixed definition. One person feels disrespected for a minor thing, the other person feels misunderstood, the other one feels even more misunderstood and has hurt feelings now, the other doesn't know what the problem is and then it's leading to a fight in all relationships to have ever existed. I have never met a woman who has never disrespected a man. And for sure, I wouldn't want to live in this world, because disrespect does need to happen at some point, when you are a real person and have interests that matter to you more than a single man's opinion. How come that you compare "violence" with "disrespect" and say both hold the same value respectively for either sex. I don't see how that makes sense or is in any way a smart comparison.

They are articulate and know what they are talking about and another thing I noticed, each girl had a solid vocabulary and were able to speak with the appropriate word in its rightful place. I think people often confused personal roles in personal relationships with questions about social justice. For example, the struggle for making sure that women get paid on par with men, or that women should have the same education opportunities, is about equal access to economic and social resources. That is not the same thing as gender roles in a marriage, or a romance. From the interviews it seems that these Russian women like traditional gender roles in relationships, but are mostly positive about equality in other areas. I think this is an important distinction and it is valid to make it. Of course, the two do influence each other somewhat, but they don't have to necessarily.

I don't think you can rationally dis-entangle the two, without wrecking what makes it possible for women to make the much-improved choices they've already gained through advanced economies. Economies cannot overcome scarcity by paying more. Quite the opposite, scarcity is overcome by producing more with less.
One of the largest "problems" (although that's not objective) is that women are FAR more likely to choose to take time off for child bearing and rearing, often for many years. Which means they lose far more years of valuable experience in the workforce. To the extent we already (or want to) try to force firms to pay them more to make up for that, the less output/cost would simply be passed on in prices to women's families, and would fall disproportionately on the poor, since the poor rely much more heavily than the middle class and wealthy on productivity (labor), rather than passive investments.
Government can involve itself to make it appear that this problem is solved (i.e., through regulation, subsidies, preferential treatment of larger companies, etc, which is itself, incredibly dangerous), but it is all appearance. Unfortunately, we're already WAY down that road, as corporatism and special (corporate and bureaucratic) interest domination has already taken over the U.S. to an alarming degree. Contrary to a LOT of wishful thinking, economic laws are not magically overcome by government and egalitarian-speak; and governments are incredibly dangerous (and violent) mechanisms for social engineering.

My mom did Russian Ballet for 8 years, 5 days a week, 2 hours each day. She studied at university, her best friends studied at university.
Her aunt, my great aunt, was a German professor at university at the time.
My great grandma was a Tatarian actress and I loved her humour.
My grandma worked in the technical field but didn't study at university (she came from a village and the education available wasn't the best).
I really love my family and I love having conversations with them because they are all very knowledgeable and have a unique perspective on life and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Here in Sweden most females would really get annoyed if we didn't split the note 50/50 on the first date......later on its more acceptable that either one pays.
Having lived in Moscow (during the 80`s) I loved the Russian women freedom and approach to dating and men. To me Russian women deserve utmost respect and are themselves respectful. Now, they may have changed slightly, but their culture and confidence in what they want has not changed, in my views (and yes I do speak Russian).
Unlike so many videos on TH-cam, you can tell this was well thought out, seriously. By the end I not only felt I knew a little more about Russian people, but it was captivating in its entirety. Well done!
This is really interesting. It seems that since Russian women are a little more removed from the left wing ideologies that are taking over the western world, they actually have a little more of an objective opinion about feminist values.
And what's particularly interesting to me is how they feel more free or comfortable to agree with some claims or values and disagree with others. To me that shows a greater presence of freedom of thought than what we see in the west, where left wing ideologies promote such loud activism and insist on compliance and are generally more authoritarian that people are probably a little more scared to admit any disagreements with any claims or beliefs within the political movement.

I've heared that western society is generally more "authoritarian", meaning that it demands comliance with some common point of view inside a social group. In Russia on the other hand everyone may have his own opinion and it is accepted (buy not shared) by others, so it is kind of anarchy, but political powers are much more authoritarian this divides live into personal side were you're free to express yourself unofficially, and official where you should demonstrate loyality.

I'm really worried about the women who say they like to be weak.... What happens if you end up with an abusive partner... They have all the financial power in the relationship so you / your children can't leave... you go to the police but they're all men and encourage you to go back to your duties as housewife... what then... In my many visits to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and many other former USSR countries, I generally noticed something about people there, I noticed a high level of mutual respect between men and women. Furthermore, from my personal experience, I felt much more respected and appreciated as a man in Russia, Ukraine, and the rest of ex USSR countries than in the West. I also felt that Russian people generally have reached that level of maturity and inner peace when it comes to relations between men and women (not saying they're perfect) but they're certainly ahead of their counterparts in the West...

Educated, motivated, polite men and women respect each other because neither can raise a family on their own. Even with two parents household, grandparents need to help out. Women in Soviet world were revered at least politically and in mainstream media, but also practically women could work any job, should they be able to do it. Being successful professionally or in relationship is by no means a matter of mere luck - success comes from a lot of hard work and learning from the mistakes.

I can say for Austria that most of the girls on the countryside still expect the guy to pay, but in the cities it can even be perceived as belittleing the girl and rude. I had both. I was fortunate to be raised by a wonderful mother who was a nurse and who fought and lead her profession to having their own Professional Union. She was a woman in all respects but taught me and my sister that equal responsibility and equal respect was the only way. She was a feminist at heart but would never use a title at that time to describe her beliefs of equality. She taught that child baring and nurturing was important but the values in raising was to be shared. She is 93.

I'm Russian, and 7 years ago I left Russian because of these stereotypes about how the Russian woman is to be. I wanted the equality between men and women, have a chance for a job I like and be paid equally with men. I wanted people to stop judging me if I don't do nails, eyebrow, eyelashes, if wear bright colors that make me feel true to myself, if I don't want a husband and kids but build my career. (small city in Russia) And I found it overseas, I'm so grateful I can be myself now.

Being oneself comes at a high price as one tends to discover with age. Feminism tends to paint cooperation with men as capitulation or abuse. Personally, I see feminists around the world becoming more and more aggressive toward men, which is something that has nothing to do with equality. There are aspects of each gender that are innate and natural and I don't think they can be forced to be the same. We as human family, need harmony, mutual respect, compassion and collaboration.

Im 27F from Moscow and i never was discriminated based on my gender (lets not talk about family lol) in fact i only got better treatment as a woman. I make more money than my husband i got promoted at my work after only 2 years because i work hard, and also my man treats me like a princess. Russian man are trully amasing and i want to be "a little girl" in the relationship but i also can be lioness at work)) More and more women here open their own businesses, one of my sisters has her own shop and other one opened her company with cool AI projects. I think about opening my own business in the future) Overall i think we have a great balance of equality and femininity

Eli, I am so glad you found your niche and it pays equitably. As I listen to this, as a strong, married woman, it makes me want to cry…not as a feminist, but as a woman. I imagine a future where many of these young women no longer control there lives as they get married and tied to their homes, husbands, and children. Which is the case for all women. But if they have outside the home resources they can change their and their Childrens lives in a positive manner if needed.

@@Anamewhowasnottaken Well, the biggest discrepancy in the video is how majority of them want to be strong and independent, but expect to be catered for.
But I presume you are asking about translations. I just sometimes follow the subtitles out of linguistic and cultural interest to see how much gets lost in translation and this one jumped out at me, cos the translator is obviously trying to put words into the respondent’s mouth. I don’t think anybody needs to be paranoid about subtitles per se since it is much easier to misinterpret the content due to very different cultural backgrounds than due to imperfect translation.
