    Are you planning another video?! What Christmas projects do you have on-deck? #laseron

      My next video will be on using shading on hat patches. For Christmas I dont usually do anything extra since I am so busy with hats and signs. I used to do ornaments but they can be time consuming for a small pay out, maybe I wasn't doing it right. Thanks for watching!!

      @@WyldeWillow You’re welcome, and thank you. I haven’t messed with hats yet; I will keep an eye out for the video.

    Good looking sign, but black on dark brown is a bit hard to read. Maybe a different font color, or a colored outline would make it more visible.

      Ya I can see what you mean. It's a long story on why I had to use those materials but it's what I had to work with for this video. I like the colored out line idea.

    Just a little thing I do like marking a level or yard stick. I use a Stabilo pencil to mark. The marks come off easily with water (spit works well too!). They come in different colors but red will stain. I keep a white and blue on hand. Great video! Gives me other ideas.

    Nice work! I never noticed those alignment buttons you used in LB, I’ll have to remember that next time I’m laying something out. I usually just use the horizontal and vertical alignments.

    The sign looks great and I'm sure it won't be your last! Not trying to be a Debbie Downer or Know-It-All but I will say as someone who has worked professionally for 30 years with PMMA building cases and signs like yours that in a gaseous state it is very harmful as is the Weld-On #16 which looks like the glue you may be using. When cutting, drilling, or gluing you can't avoid creating these harmful gases. The glues used to make acrylic fuse include methylene chloride which is a known carcinogen. All those products have MSDS sheets available online from the manufacturer. 3M makes excellent vapour respirators that you may wish to look into although my set-up included down draft tables and overhead hoods with a vacuum extractor to vent the gases outdoors so I didn't rely on them. Please stay safe and keep up the good work🙂

    Good looking sign. The fan in your garage blowing your hair reminded me of Pam Andersen when she was in Baywatch. Haha.

      @WyldeWillow  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hahah that's exactly what I was going for.... or I was just trying to stay alive in my 120 degree garage. But lets just say I was going for the Pam Anderson look, should have thrown in the slow motion hair flip.

    I wonder if you could apply a light stain after the engraving or would it cover up the image too much?

    Run the tape like painters blue were the holes are all the way from one to the other. Poke the hole thru the tape. Pull the tape off. Put on the wall. It stays in place. Then either drill or use pencil/pen/maker to make the anchor hole.

      Thanks for the tip. I will definitely try that with the next sign I hang.

    Nice video, what is the wood you used and the settings for your laser to cut the white design?

    • @WyldeWillow
      @WyldeWillow  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's an acrylic material called Rowmark from Johnson Plastic Plus. They have a ton of colors and finishes to pick from. I have it linked in the description along with a code to save 15%!

    • @WyldeWillow
      @WyldeWillow  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As far as the settings you pretty much have to just do a material test grid since every color is different. You are just lightly engraving it to expose the color of the second layer.

    I have a question. If someone was to use a light color wood stain on birch 1/8'' plywood then used a lazer to make a picture, how would it look? Would the stain burn or would it make a clean image. I would really like to see how it would turn out.

    • @WyldeWillow
      @WyldeWillow  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have done something like that and you will need to mask off the wood first then engrave it. It turns out pretty decent. You can try with out masking but it can leave burn marks around the edge of the engraving.
