I hate that Disney Canon is just called "Canon" It feels so insulting to everything that came before it. Like "everything you know, isn't even Lucas canon, it's just 'legends' it's not real in any version."
It's actually kind of perfect if you think about it (though I agree, axing so much lore all at once was a bad idea). Legends are generally tales told with some embellishment for dramatic effect - but there's almost always some truth to it. This allowed Disney to say "yes, it was true, but xyz was different". They essentially get to pick and choose the best parts of legends to become part of the broader story and discard some of the crazier stuff (there was... A lot lol). What they *actually* should have done is put Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau in charge of lore in the first place.
@@shadowblade145 When people say things like this, I wonder what the wilder elements they think should be discarded are, because a lot of the wilder stuff is actually some of the things George was more heavily involved in (like some of the earlier Marvel comics, Dark Empire, Tales of the Jedi, and several multimedia projects). Good information. The idea that the Celestials created the hyperspace anomaly is pretty much accepted by the fandom I've spoken to. However, it begs the question, Why? Logically, it can only serve two purposes: 1) to keep galactic inhabitants in, or, 2) to keep others out. The latter implies there is something bent on conquest and destruction. Certainly the Vong fit that profile. However, I suspect there might be something even more terrible than they, perhaps even something which challenged the power of the Celestials themselves. That would be something worthy of a great story.

#AskEck Why are there so many Humanoid & near humanoid races in star wars, whilst other species don't resemble each other in any way? Twi'leks Togrutas, Cereans, Tholothians, Nautolans, Kel Dors, Zabraks, Zygerrians, Pantorans, Weequays (or Weequi), Mikkians, Chiss, Rodians & Wookies, And that's just to name a few.
My guess is that most of these are offshoots of humans (Or an even older species.) which adapted and mutated differently in their new home planets. (This is flat out confirmed to be the case between Chiss and humans in legends.) Out of universe, is because they're easy to design, animate, and/or make costumes and makeup for than an original new concept species.

Hmmm ofc The Realm Beyond Shadows is probably the most intriguing aside from Other-Space. If they do future installments they should do a “Ancient Horrors from the Beyond” type of style to give us the darker stories of the Star Wars universe. Abeloth, Star Wierds etc… would love to see it…
As far as I know, the only planets we’ve seen with one biome are Hoth, Tatooine, Geonosis, and Dagobah, and all of the have good reasons for being that way: Tatooine orbits two stars and so gets baked into a desert, Hoth likely orbits too far from its star to be anything but an ice ball, Geonosis...could orbit too close to its star to be anything but a desert, and Dagobah likely just has a very thick and humid atmosphere.

‘Course, the stuff like the green bunnies and whatnot was just kinda weird. Like, I can kinda get behind because I like a little weirdness, but to each their own.
I wanna read this!
I love This channel
Best outro ever
Starship versus: Harrower class Dreadnaught vs Victory class Star Destroyer
wow, what a great video. although I admit I was hoping for more of a deep dive, I was still highly pleased. I hope you do more videos like this in the future. it really sets u apart from other youtubers. maybe in the future u could go more in depth on each of the extra galatic things. also, what is the hyperspace void u mentioned?

Why are none of the movies about this? I would love to see a movie about their war with the yuzon vong
Because Disney.. and kathleen
The Yuuzhan Vong conflict would be too big to fit in one movie, or even a trilogy of movies. I could see a TV series doing it, though.
Love how you used the original 70s palpatine for the thumbnail
Doomsday from the comics vs the Flood
Eckharts, thanks man, I’m going through a shit ton and you’re content always gives me time to kill. Thanks for letting me know about the “novel”, I look forward to checking it out
Haha, just saw you on Casey Neistat's channel!!!
What video
@@KBX12Gaming most recent one he commented
Thought you were telling us that Casey Neistat made a video about or with EckhartsLadder at first
. Lol me too until I saw his comment on the video
I'd love a longer, more in depth version of this
What editing program do you use to make your videos and thumbnails EckhartsLadder?
Premiere and Photoshop

TBH, I just watch your videos because of that doggo in the end.

I wonder whats outside our Galaxy
Other planets and stars. Some galaxies too.
SPACE!
Outside of other galaxies and their stars?
A whole lot of nothing.
The laughter of thirsting gods.

Damn boy !
He ThiCC !
That's one ThiCC ass boy!
You have to be Canadian (or from near Canada at the least), I caught that "ootside the Star Wars Galaxy" right off the bat 😆
Thx for another fun vid!
Could you do a video on the scale of sci-fi. For example, stuff like war of the worlds hapoens within our solar system, and then you have halo which takes place in one part of a galaxy and star wars which is just over one galaxy #askeck
autocorrect *hapans* sometimes
like hapans?yeh im done😂😂
Did someone mention SCALE?!?! *40K Intensifies*
when talking about scale, Perry Rhodan comes to mind. Takes place in over a hundred galaxies from what I recall.
Little known facts: about 6 galaxies away from the Star Wars galaxy is the one with Cylons. 2 Galaxies from there is a galaxy with Skynet which may have been invented by the a cylon =)
Wrong, the Cylon galaxy becomes the Skynet Galaxy. They settled Earth and the cycle continued - War between Man and Machine.

Why are there so many Humanoid & near humanoid races in star wars, whilst other species don't resemble each other in any way?
Twi'leks Togrutas, Cereans, Tholothians, Nautolans, Kel Dors, Zabraks, Zygerrians, Pantorans, Weequays (or Weequi), Mikkians, Chiss, Rodians & Wookies,
And that's just to name a few.
My guess is that most of these are offshoots of humans (Or an even older species.) which adapted and mutated differently in their new home planets. (This is flat out confirmed to be the case between Chiss and humans in legends.)
Out of universe, is because they're easy to design, animate, and/or make costumes and makeup for than an original new concept species.
@@mill2712 some were genetically engineered from humans by slavers of other species.
@@SonsOfLorgar Mostly the Infinite Empire, IIRC. Feel free to correct me.
Interested in the map at 2:51. It had episode 2 place Kamino in wild space; however, practically all the other maps I’ve seen place it in the outer rim, on the mid rim side.
6:28 did I hear CHAOS?! *Inquisitorial glare*
Holy crap the last four minutes just got crazy I love legends 🤤
Please do shotguns!
Chaos you say? 40K Intensifies
Easy answer, the rest of the universe.
Now this is epic.
What if Earth is in the unknown regions . And we are the friends in the unknown region leia spoke of.
She spoke about outer rim
Because the siZe of the Star Wars galaxy is different to the Milky Way.
A long long time ago in a galaxy FAR FAR AWAY...
I wish there was more of this stuff covered in on screen Star Wars.
Dude what does eckhartsladder mean cant find a meaning
oh man!!! this is so interesting! i wanna go deeper!!! I'm gonna read that back i love weird fiction n cosmic horror! big HPL fan n is love to see a mix between SW & weird tales/cosmic horror! thank u for this!

How difficult was it for Jedi and Sith to deflect blaster bolts#AskEck
Hmmm ofc The Realm Beyond Shadows is probably the most intriguing aside from Other-Space. If they do future installments they should do a “Ancient Horrors from the Beyond” type of style to give us the darker stories of the Star Wars universe. Abeloth, Star Wierds etc… would love to see it…
Wait, you’re friends with HiddenXperia?
Yep
@@EckhartsLadder ICONIC!
EckhartsLadder Huh, Neat!
