"You know it's SAD BUT TRUUUUUUE!" Sorry, been sick so I missed a couple of em', but I'm back. Great reaction. You gotta do Where The Wild Things Are off the Reload album. I'm waiting. :)
James Hetfield got the idea for this song from the 1978 Anthony Hopkins film Magic, which is about a ventriloquist who is controlled by his evil puppet.
Kirk does the solos 99% of the time. James sometimes but he's mostly just the rythym, you know the main beat. Cliff/ Jason/Rob is bass. They are that deep heavy beat you here in the background.
I recommended eye of the beholder and dyers Eve...watch the Moscow version of sad but true. Also the thing that should not be...studio version and the Seattle 89
@@saintcolumbo8869 this song made more sense after watching the movie Revolver. Remember when Hetfield says on the lyrics "I'm you, sad but true " it all clicked. th-cam.com/video/Wftl5j6yKlM/w-d-xo.html
@@miguelvideira1 yes!!! But not the video just lyrics after that. I personally think the vid is very kool but it takes away from all the kool details of the music.
Kirk Hammett is metallica lead guitarist so its him on most solos.
Sound brother

I think you hit the nail on the head with your interpretation
Yep.

Kirk plays solo. Jason is bass guitarist. Kirk is lead guitarist.
But today bassist is Rob Trujillo. He's actually been in Metallica longer than Jason was.
This is song is about EGO! 😉

is this song about schizophrenia or devil?
I feel this song is about addiction. And especially alcohol addiction. Since James was an alcoholic around this time.
