  • In Part 1 of our trip, we rent a Tesla Model Y Long Range from UFODrive and road trip from Amsterdam Netherlands to Viborg Denmark. Showing the sights of Amsterdam, picking up our Tesla Model Y, driving the German Autobahn, visiting Superchargers at Deventer, Netherlands, Lohne, Germany, Posthausen, Germany, and Busdorf, Germany. This was our longest road trip ever in a Tesla at a bit over 12 hours. Previously it was Lake Tahoe to Los Angeles at about 10 hours.

    Traffic laws: in Europe, your place on the road is the utmost right lane. So you cannot just keep hanging in the middle lane. It is for overtaking the most right lane. The left lane is for overtaking the middle lane. Etc.

      Yeah, it's quite different in the US, particularly in Los Angeles! We had a great time in Europe last year, looking forward to our next trip. Thanks for watching.

    Loved your video! Very funny to hear your perspective on things we find completely normal here in Europe such as not to overtake when driving on the right lane or having to pay 50 ct for using German bathrooms 😂

      Thanks for watching. We loved this trip. We love Europe and visit every couple of years. Renting a Tesla from UFODRIVE was an awesome experience. Planning our next one for next year.

    16:12 - Feels comfortable because everyone drives appropriately :)
    20:10 - The nav pronounced it correctly :D
    21:04 - Germany is Deutschland in German language. That's where the D comes from. Other "weird" ones: E - Spain (España) and, you guessed it: S - Sweden (Svenksa). But A - Austria (Österreich)

    Great video. We drove to Prague from Denmark in our Model Y RWD last year and this year we are going to Amsterdam. Our efficiency was 143 Wh/km both ways, so i guess the dual motors do consume some extra Kwh. We had 4 charging stops to Prague and according to A Better Route Planner, we need 3 stops to Amsterdam at about 25 mins each.

      Awesome to hear! We are probably flying into Copenhagen (my wife is Danish) this summer and rent a Tesla again. Amsterdam was a blast last trip, but about a 13 hour drive with traffic and border control into Denmark. We want to show the kids a big Danish city, they’ve seen the small ones. 😀

    You can put these foreign place names into Google Translate and click the little speaker icon. It will give you the correct local pronunciation and the English equivalent. Doing that will give the impression that you have been educated.

      Except even those aren’t even close sometimes.

    32:46 That sign meant "Road damage":)
    And the next one, the "golf club" meant crosswinds ahead:) Your son was spot on!
    33:45 In your case it was 80. If you pause the video at 33:47 you can see another sign right under 60 saying 7.5t. This means that this sign only applies to vehicles over 7.5 tons.

      Thanks for clarifying, heading back to Europe again next summer. Love it there! Probably going to do Copenhagen up to Gothenburg back to Denmark, of course we will be renting a Tesla ;)

    Motorway, highway or autobahn how ever you want to call it Germany is the king.

    18:55 So you say drivers in the US are too polite and you shouldn't have to let drivers in? Really dude? Have you watched the news and seen all the road rage stories? Courtesy on American roads is severely lacking!

    • @TeslaTipsTrips
      @TeslaTipsTrips  ปีที่แล้ว

      In this situation absolutely. Those already on the freeway/ highway have the right of way. It’s up to those entering to blend on their own. There’s a reason it’s done this way in Europe. I shouldn’t have to slam on the brakes for someone else coming in. I suggest you don’t drive on the autobahn.

    Please, stop talking about the border to Denmark. Did you not knew about the war in Ukraine? The border crossings is dangerous for many people and countries.

    • @TeslaTipsTrips
      @TeslaTipsTrips  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s my understanding it’s been like that for years. They didn’t do anything except slow traffic down. We crossed other borders without issue. So, yeah I’ll talk about it.
