My favourite memory of using it is with Overdrive Booster, I turned around to see a huge swarm emerging from the tunnel and streaming straight towards me over the flat ground. I flicked on Overdrive and happily held down LMB, erasing bugs like I was using a power washer to get clean muck. I suppose a minigun with smth like blowthrough rounds mightve been more satisfying, but it was very fun to see how much devastation I was wreaking in the handful of seconds I had before the mag ran out, as I pushed that horde back into the tunnel they were crawling out of
Personally, I use feedback loop the most since I'm usually on haz 4 or 5 and just having an on demand "everything in that general direction dies" button is extremely useful for relieving pressure.
I use the explosive platforms for ammo efficiency as the plat explosion does way way more damage per ammo than would normally be possible and the bugs killed pre explosion give to biomass converter, I’ve had games where I don’t run out of ammo as the run actually has positive ammo returns under the right circumstances
I'm pretty happy with the clean OC for this one. I love being able to set stuff alight from the other side of the cave, and extra charge just lets me do more of that.
i am so glad i picked this game back up after a few years. all the content is there so no fear of missing out. and this weapon is just so fun. Who doesnt want a lasor for the nerd class!!
At player rank 98 I have just started using the Shard diffractor and it is amazing. I like having faster charge reload compared to larger charge capacity so I don't use too much at a time with the overdrive booster.

fun idea for a unstable overclock: 10 times charge and 5 times ammo capacity but if deals less damage and takes much longer to recharge and another idea: less ammo capacity and less area of affect, but the laser pirces trough infinint bugs and bounces 3 times off of walls/floor/ceiling and deal increased damage per bounce(platforms add 0.5 instead of one bounce, so up to 6 bounces if all of the bounce points are platforms)
Impact Reactor is a good OC, but it has a fatal flaw that makes it unusable for igniting anything outside of small enemies: Unlike the CRSPR's Sticky Flames, the Reactor's Ground Magma is not counted as an Environmental Heat Source, meaning larger/more heat-resistant enemies will not having their Cooling Rate turned off, and will actually cool down faster than the Magma can heat them up.
However it is utterly absurd at crowd control. Very quickly paint the ground in front of the enemies with magma. All of the fodder gets cleared out with ease, with minimal ammo usage, and without needing to invest any non-Overclock upgrades, letting you use those to boost your single target damage
I use the volatile impact reactor overclock for nearly every mission type, besides industrial sabotage and elimination missions. Not only is it really good to kill big swarms of enemies, it’s also just insanely ammo efficient. I use it in combination with the mini-shells overclock for the warthog so that I can keep shooting for forever after my teammates have already called a resupply. The ammo efficiency gives my team some good insurance for if they require one or two more resupplies that they otherwise wouldn’t have had
Ohhhh you have to press the KEY to change the Overdrive booster... I apparently never caught that bit of important info for that unstable overclock. That might be a whole lot better to use then, cause I thought the downsides were always applied to not being able to move and having to use the entire charge.
The magma one is good for saving ammo during hordes just like the driller’s sticky flames. I’m surprised there’s no overclock for penetrating past enemies, linking enemies or in any way hitting multiple targets at the same time with the same beam
Plastcrete is my favorite overclock in the game hands down i like to focus on cc for almost every mission I will be making a new single target build with overdrive now I use hyper propellant
I only have Automated Fire Control OC on this thing… But I got the bigger magazine mod anyways and go IMMA FIRE MA LAZOR on anything that’s too big for my primary. Usually Oppressors.
My favorite thing is to kill most if not all of the bugs that our engie has been grouping for plastcrete OC because it's a meme and very inefficient when it comes to time=xp >:)
Bro, you should add timecodes for each overclock specificaly and either add more general advices for new players or go more in depth for more advanced auditory. Because people who see this gun for the first time need more basic understandment of the gun (i would compare it with minigan in usage cases for example or said that it is really good partner gun with worthog because of long range). And average experiensed players would greatly appropriate more detailed analisys (game mechanics formulas and numbers, comparasment with other secondaryes and most effective builds or advanced usage tips.) That's why i did not learn anything useful from this video, and new player also would not, because anyone could just read descriptions of OC and form basic thoughts about them. So that's the way to be more informative (no offence)
Bro I use this secondary almost exclusively and I have yet to get a SINGLE overclock for it, yet I have every freaking overclock for the breach cutter...

Plastcrete catalyst with multiple engineers sounds like having a mine field set up for you naturally that you get to detonate on command.

Automated Beam Controller can be canceled by simply switching weapon so you can just stop firing
