Scorching tide is a disgustingly strong clean in disguise, giving near instant burst damage which the crspr usually lacks. It's particularly good for tough bugs like praetorians, oppressors, and dreadnoughts. Plus it just denies the existence of the nemesis which is incredible.
I'll be the resident Driller spokesman and tell you how HARD Crystla Nucleation fucks. This thing goes so hard in the paint I forgot Sticky Fuel existed. This things existence makes me forget the Cryo even has other overclocks, its so goddamn useful for nearly every situation I can't pry it off my hands. You'd think it's a gag from GSG to be like "What if we just made Sticky Fuel for Cryo Cannon lol" and they accidentally created a pub carrying gift from Karl himself
yea my biggest annoyance with Cryo is that you *have* to keep spending ammo to do damage with it, whether primary, secondary, someone else entirely, etc. Don't get me wrong, freeze is extremely powerful, but for trash clear, a clump of burning bugs will just burn to death in comparison. Being able to let things just get spiked to death by squirting a few lines is just as good, on top of freezing them all.
As someone who has had experience with combustive goo mix, you don't actually have to shoot the goo-ed bugs in order to trigger the effect. After you shoot out a charged goo shot, you can shoot your EPC directly at a single goo puddle on the floor. I built my EPC specifically with heavy hitter and burning nightmare, as such it only takes 2 EPC shots to ignite a single goo puddle (In 10:52, his EPC went from 99 to 91 ammo when trying to trigger the reaction and EPC doesn't have a ton of ammo to begin with). This approach takes significantly less ammo and time to trigger the effect, plus it's very versatile as goo puddles can also stick vertically onto walls. The base damage on a single goo cannon shot can also reliablely melt a bug, so it works on both single targets and swarm clearing.
@@randomhero6365 With all the ammo from your goo cannon, there really isn't much reason to use your secondary besides triggering the puddle ignition and finishing off stragglers. I was never a TFC miner and was always put off by the low ammo count on the EPC, even without the heavy hitter OC. Heavy hitter still has 100 ammo, and considering you would only ever need 2 shots to trigger the goo combustion and killing regular grunts, I'd say it's plenty for my use case. So what you get for the total ammo reduction on heavy hitter EPC, you get back in the ridiculous amount of kills you can get from only using 1 charged goo cannon shot and 2 EPC shots. Keep in mind, after the first explosion, any unfortunate bugs that are left alive would still be on fire, which you can then use a single goo cannon shot to start another chain explosion. No amount of secondary ammo increase would ever achieve this level of efficient swarm clear.
I kinda hope they buff the new scout overclocks. Marked for death is fine enough, but conductive thermals feels like you lose too much and gain too little, and I haven't even touched burst fire cause I know it's bad and it doesn't even seem fun. For conductive thermals, I think they should buff the effect to also increase the potency of the secondary effects from status. So burning enemies also spread fire more effectively, shocked enemies move even slower, and temp shock also deals more damage. (frozen enemies taking even more damage would also be funny if it weren't so broken, so that can stay as is). Then beyond that I would remove one of the downsides, since having both feels really bad on a balanced overclock. Either remove the extra heat generated, or remove the damage penalty so it can combo with cryo better (probably make the heat even worse in exchange, like 1.5x instead of 1.33x). For burst fire I dunno, maybe just give it blowthrough lol.
For burst fire, it was actually going to be a four round burst if you took an ammo mod, which would've made it a lot better since most things would get one-bursted (according to people who've talked with the dev team and were in testing) I'd say that it should be brought to four rounds, since as is it's arguably worse than stock. Conductive thermals is very much true, since as a scout solo the usage you get from it is the same as no damage penalty, and unless you have teammates who can do really well with elements (I.e volatile gunner) you can't get a very high usage from it. Sadly enough too, since I'm pretty sure an un-intended use from it is that plasma splash actually procs the OC alongside the projectile, and if it isn't intended then assuming it gets nerfed, it just becomes worse than better
I actually really like burst fire, made me start using the GK2 over the M1000. Its no Bullets of Mercy, but I doubt anything will top that OC. Burst Fire I found does really consistent and efficient damage. I'd pass up on a resupply or two on most missions because I just had so much ammo despite having high kill counts. As for Conductive Thermals, I also really like this OC. I found it just absolutely melts bugs, especially oppressors on H5. Each shot reduces the targets elemental resistances and proc thresholds, making the weapon ramp up in damage, particularly great when you add electrocute. It also adds a combat support element that Scout was somewhat lacking in, there's the pheromone stuff sure, but Scout isn't exactly synergizing with his team.
I know I'm late, but take conductive thermals with some element based team mates. You can install freeze oppressors, and deal absolutely disgusting amounts of damage with gunner volatile bullets, even to behemoths. The 2 scout OCa that are good are both based around d team play, rather than solo
You can't imagine how big my smile was, when I heard Seath's Theme playing in the background as soon as you were talking about Crystal Nucleation. I practically could hear the crystal breaking sound in my head. Great Video m8!
@mailcs06 Even disregarding ammo economy the overclock defeats the entire purpose of the weapon which is selective high damage on priority targets. You can't cancel locks, aim locks, or even adjust your ammo economy per enemy.
Honestly with what @malics06 said, it’s kind of the reason I don’t like the lok1. I don’t get as much damage per mag as either of the other choices really.
@Korvik ECR is really good for ammo economy, it has tons of little tricks you can do that provide a boost to ammo economy. For example if setup properly, you can kill a whole horde of swarmers with 1 bullet!
Marked for Death is great for Dreadnaughts, especially if you bring the three bolt overclock on the crossbow, you trade in your moderate group targeting for single target annihilation.
As an engie main, (hit triple legendary 2 months ago) I’m Loving these new OCs especially Pump action and smart trigger. Pump action is incredibly body-shooting grunts and smoking praetorians and oppressors (IDC if it’s not ammo efficient it’s really fun.) Smart trigger OS is also really fun when I wanna turn off my brain and tape down M1. As with pump action ammo is also an issue but that’s an issue with almost every lok-1 build. Combustive goo mix is also really funny for groups, big single targets and making my friend’s computer explode from all the particles it makes for no reason. I would recommend burning nightmare heavy hitter EPC with it as you get sit goo puddles and goo on fire quicker.
As with everyone here the music choice was absolutely based. Great vid though I like hyper alloy assembly cause it has high recoil it makes it feel like a cs go weapon its really satisfying to get down.
here are my thoughts on some of the overclcocks. 1. crystal nucleation overclock should be taken with fragile, since having two freeze mods are redundant, and with fragile, the crystal formation could be used to give a sticky zone of protection anyway, so it is pointless. 2. i would take T5c with the clusters, since the speed was reduced allowing for longer flight, allowing the rockets to up the already high area dmg. 3. the mortar round overclock should be taken with T5c, since one could have trouble up close.
Stun is really hard to give up on cluster charges. Each individual cluster rocket has the stun chance which lets you stop entire swarms in their tracks, switching it out for anything else feels pretty bad. And especially in close quarters you won't be able to get that damage bonus anyway (assuming it works on the cluster charges, though I imagine it would)
@@squiddler7731 i am not bothered by stun, sure it maybe good, but it doesn't matter because it doesn't increase efficiency of the hurricane, like fire does. on top of this gunner has volatile bullets which takes full advantage of burning glyphids. teir 5c does require area, but with liquid morkite missions and point extract having large areas, plus gunners ziplines, it is easy to be far away from the rig itself, but still increase area dmg.
why would people even take t5c (nitroglycerin) on any hurricane build locking down bugs with stun is so much better as it allows you easier control and better follow ups plus the damage bonus is extremely negligible when clusters already do a lot

Scorching tide is literally just salvo module 2.0 (I’m not complaining though 😏) it literally adds an extra overpowered ability and the drawback is that the ability in question has limitations without changing the primary fire

Very good video that explains the new overclocks well! I Have a majority of these and id say gunner has the best. Especially mortar rounds. Its pretty bad they nerfed cluster missiles into the ground, further reducing ammo and clusters per rocket. It never really felt crazy good to me since you had to change your playstile like with plasma misdiles. Im still learning the other ones, especially the marked for death. But overall these are decent options as a whole, though gunner definitely has the best stuff. Sorry to hear about life stuff got you down. Hope it gets better!

I really think pump action should be slightly buffed, it’s damage just isn’t strong enough to compete with other warthog OCs, imo they should make it so it can oneshot most grunt types to the body at close range (except the guards, this should be one tap head). Since it has blowthrough this weapon is geared for crowd control, so unless you make it overpowered damage wise it will never compete with other OCs at single target damage, but if you make it oneshot grunts to body (maybe give it a lesser weak spot damage to compensate) then it can be a great crowd control option.
I actually tested this while I was getting the clips for it the only overclock that comes close to the Pump Action is Stunner, it took me 5 shots to kill a praetorian with Pump action using 1,1,3,1,2 while with every other overclock taking around 7,8 or 9 shots even MPA, but Stunner just barely killed it with 6 shots with the build 2,1,3,2,2 and the only reason it killed the praetorian in 6 shots was because of the added dmg to stunned targets
I feel Mortars does more damage but lacks the damage overtime do to it’s ammo being almost none existing as for JFH feels like the winner here since it does a good amount of damage to single targets and with the right build you have ammo to use on more bugs, and Clusters does good damage aswell but you have to aim and time your clusters more often and with Haz 5+8 your better off with using Mortars or JFH but I haven’t tested this yet so this is just speculation
Will do! Taking a small break because this video was a lot to make but will be making a video about the patch notes and updates they did to the other overclocks soon
Before so I assume a lot of things I didn’t like about some of the overclocks where patched, I’ll have to play around more with the overclocks and read the patch notes
The only ratings I'm not agreeing with are for Scorching Tide and Conductive Thermals. While Scorching Tide is certainly very fun to use, I don't really see the point of it in a weapon like the flamethrower. It's an aoe based OC on an aoe based weapon. The direct damage is nothing to sneeze at, but for that 25 ammo you also could just put a big carpet of flames down and kill every smaller approaching bug anyway. It doesn't put enough damage onto larger enemies like Praetorians. 5/10 from me. Conductive Thermals is a very specialised support OC that is best used in combination with the other classes, going for elemental damage. It gimps the plasma rifle into doing not much damage on its own and has to be used with something like the crossbow to be able to deal with bigger hordes of enemies when playing solo. But still, you have to jump through the hoop of applying the debuff to get some damage out of your secondary... when you could just go for a different OC with more direct damage. I don't really see the point, unless you want to be a supporter. 4/10 from me. Other than that, great reatings and list. GSG have outdone themselves with these new overclocks, unique mechanics and new fun ways to play.
hyperalloy is definitely a winner in my book, it's rewards you for learning it and is the only OC that makes stubby any worth using to me. smart trigger OS is a nothingburger. on par with seeker rounds, it makes lok1 into a dumbed down "hold mouse1" weapon which will steal all your ammo with no benefit burst fire... just don't.. gk2 with no overclocks is better than with burst fire conductive thermals... is certainly an overclock. it has funny potential but aside goofing off it is not worth using in any normal mission
Smart Trigger is genuinely such a disappointment. Nowhere near the burst damage of Executioner, and nowhere near the swarm clear of ECR, and it doesn't make up for it's weaknesses in any way. It might look cool and be fun to use but it's worse than it's competitors by a long shot. I would actually take Neuro-Lasso over it 10 times out of 10.
@@meekumanu it can trigger electricity in 2 shots which is pretty nice. it's also much much more reactionairy than the other lok-1 overclocks which struggle in immediate self defense. i think it'd genuinely be fine if it got some more ammo for giving up the control of having less control in hitting weakspots, i find it really fun to use even considering its weaknesses
This pretty much lines up with my experience. Hyperalloy and Burst Fire are terrible, Smart Trigger eats too much ammo to be actually useable (the whole concept of the Lok-1 is using the trigger lines to aim, which this OC makes impossible). Thermal should have *less* overheating, not even more. The others are pretty much all winners though.
Yeah, overheating has been pretty common in drak's overclocks, though I'd swap it out for damage as me personally, I rarely overheat my drak and I mainly use overclocks that give more overheating. I'd say the damage is worse, as outside of a team that thrives in elements, the usage you get is about the same without the damage penalty

Whats that armor paint job at 0:40?
One of the new ones that got added in the cargo crates this season Idk what it’s called
I love the elden ring/souls music, a very unique decision. I subbed ;) Hope you do amazingly man
Ah yes crystal nucleation AKA the ice wall overclock
I feel kinda weird knowing every single track you used but i’m happy to see another ds3 enjoyer
Do you know which Bloodborne and Elden ring songs I used? :)
@@FangDRSH i didn’t play bloodborn yet 😢
You've really cooked with this one
Gotta love how Scout got plenty of options to be weaker!
Love the vid, wish you well man
I hope your personal issues resolve quickly for you
I love your videos. Make my day
Thanks for this video, it's exactly what i was searching for. Could I suggest you a build for the driller with the new overclock ?
Sure! I’m still learning to use them, but if you’d like to leave a build suggestion go ahead!

Mortar Rounds vs Hurricane's old Jet Fuel Homebrew and new Cluster Charges, which does the most damage?
I feel Mortars does more damage but lacks the damage overtime do to it’s ammo being almost none existing as for JFH feels like the winner here since it does a good amount of damage to single targets and with the right build you have ammo to use on more bugs, and Clusters does good damage aswell but you have to aim and time your clusters more often and with Haz 5+8 your better off with using Mortars or JFH but I haven’t tested this yet so this is just speculation
@@FangDRSH thanks!
Did you test JFH vs Clusters, without actually using the clusters?
The damage increase counts for the normal rockets as well afaik.
What music are you using in the video because my God it is epic
Dark souls 3 music
Can you do a video about the updated overclocks? Stuff like Heavy Bombardment, Recursive Energy Feed, etc...
Will do! Taking a small break because this video was a lot to make but will be making a video about the patch notes and updates they did to the other overclocks soon

"Row Terry overdrive" 🥴
Ds3 music my beloved
I'd love a double bolt oc for the crossbow mabye 2 bolts per reload lower basic bolt ammo posable lower special. make tazer bolts much better
Awesome video man!!! Do you think you could drop the music used cuz I rlly wanna listen to em more
Most of them where dark souls 3 OST, I used Two of Elden Rings OST, and some from Bloodborne DLC
I still use burst fire. Its not meta, but its fun imo
Meta is something made up in the eyes of DRG!
Fun is the no. 1 aspect in the game. It can be the worst oc, but if its fun I'll use it just as much as others.
Mortar rounds dosnt make mor edamage with the last damage upgrade, because that upgrade boost your direkct damage and not the splashdamage!
Roe Terry overdrive
Love the Soulsborne music
6:19 you kinda sound like mordecai here lol
are the footage used here before the first balancing patch or after?
Before so I assume a lot of things I didn’t like about some of the overclocks where patched, I’ll have to play around more with the overclocks and read the patch notes
i heard that scorching tide doesnt proc t5b sadly so most people take heat aura
I still take t5b for when i'm not in need to use the scorching tide
@@vv_missfirefair do you also run fear or more ammo?
"row, terry" overdrive
(put it in reverse terry!)
If no one got me while I can’t play drg I know fang got me can I get a rock and stone( also love the fromsoft music)
Please keep fighting rock and Stone brother🫡

"rotary overdrive has 10 uses of coolant+ *shows stats* "12 coolant charges"
Scout really got no love from devs this time. As a Scout Main, i dont think this new OC's really make me come back to play.
Smart Trigger made me feel like i was using a long range automatic shotgun which is funny since engie already has a shotgun
it reminds me of smart weapons from cyberpunk, homing bullets instantly hitting when firing.
Mmm I love rowteary overdrive
Roe Terry
Im gonna be really sad if they nerf conductive thermals
Based music choice
You deserve more subs. Here have mine.
hyperalloy is definitely a winner in my book, it's rewards you for learning it and is the only OC that makes stubby any worth using to me.
smart trigger OS is a nothingburger. on par with seeker rounds, it makes lok1 into a dumbed down "hold mouse1" weapon which will steal all your ammo with no benefit
burst fire... just don't.. gk2 with no overclocks is better than with burst fire
conductive thermals... is certainly an overclock. it has funny potential but aside goofing off it is not worth using in any normal mission
Same, he prasied smart trigger and shat on hyper alloy made my blood boiled
@@thanhhaitran9422 real. lok1 has two overclocks and stubby has one that is enjoyable
@@annihilator_ron7691 I'd say micro conductor is pretty good too now. I actually like it more than EM discharge in it's current state.
Nice vid!
Cluster charges were heavily nerfed. Went from op to mid
They are still very easily the best oc in the game. Almost like x7 aoe and damage on an already strong gun like Hurricane is a bit much
Heavily nerfed meaning went from "blatantly overpowered" to "sensible".
@katier9725 "heavily nerfed" meaning strongest oc in the game by a huge landslide to strongest oc in the game by a slightly smaller huge landslide
Mine layer was considered the strongest oc in the game for years and that isn't even x3 damage and aoe lmao
What were the nerfs?
@@rafaelmedeiros3383 It lost literally 7 total shots, 1 or 2 being lost in the magazine. Those are both meaningless but the the more impactful nerf was that it lost 2 of the cluster nades entirely. While losing 2/9's of your total damage would kill other OCs, Cluster originally gave the gun x9 aoe and damage so now its only x7.
rotary (row-tr-ee)
I love the music 🎶
Sucks they already nerfed cluster charges adding delay to activate the clusters. Its still good but slow
The increased delay was a bug and has been fixed days ago.
I can shoot and then press r (no need to hold) , i tested it like 2 days ago
They should put some new modes... Idk
Put it in reverse ROterry
The way you say rotary makes me laugh. You say it like “Row-terry” it’s pronounced like “Row-tr-ee”😂
