The 2 year Clip Studio Paint Pro license is only available for the Bluetooth versions according to the Wacom Intuos official product page. *If you go for the cheapest non-Bluetooth version, you can only pick 1 of either Corel Painter Essentials 6 or Corel Aftershot 3.* With the small Bluetooth version, you can pick 2 of either Corel Painter Essentials 6, Corel Aftershot 3, or 2 year Clip Studio Paint Pro. With the medium Bluetooth version, you can download all 3.
PID Yep, at least it's not Artrage. I wasn't bashing on Corel Painter Essentials 6, I only wanted to mention the limitations on the software you can get based on which version you buy because Wacom made it seem like you get all 3 no matter which version you choose, but you actually don't. Plus, Laovaan's review talks about the medium size which lets you download all 3 programs, but there's no mention that you don't actually get all 3 programs with the other versions so it's a bit misleading. (Wacom also fails to mention that Clip Studio Paint Pro is only a 2-year license anywhere on their site. It only clarifies that it's a 2-year license on Amazon and the CSP promo page.)
I love this tablet as a whole. I didn’t realize the pen didn’t have an eraser until I saw other tablet pens did, but it’s not that big of a deal. The program that came with it that I use was the essential paint program. I’m not a big fan of the program really, but I’m ok with it since it’s usable! This tablet is great for beginners or digital artists in general!

Alex, this model is precisely orientated to beginners and non pro users. There are cheaper tablet models available, specially Chinese brands but if you choose Wacom you can't go wrong. Happy drawings...
But you can get one of the older Intuos models for like 60 bucks on Amazon. It has 4 express keys(No dial) and 1k pen pressure and no tilt(The new ones also do not have tilt,but the Pro models and Cintiqs do)
For you want to paint/ sketch stuff, yeah the Intuos is a really good choice for beginners, as it isn't too much of an investment (in the scenario that you decide that digital art isn't for you) The biggest difference between the Intuos and the Intuos Pro models is the dial, which is incredibly useful for brush size changing (and very good for brush opacity and zooming and rotating the canvas.) BUT, Opacity can be changed by pressing the numbers on the keyboard(like if I wanted 20% opacity, I would just press the number "2" then "0" on the keyboard) and brush sizes can be changed with "[" and "]".Basically there are keyboard shortcuts for all express key inputs, they just take a while to get used to. A pen display can be gotten at a cheap price from Chinese brands which might sound appealing, but pen displays are only really important if you want to focus on drawing comics/ manga(so a lot of linework and barely any color).A pen display offers no benefits(as compared to a tablet) for paintings. Oh and in terms of drivers, Wacom has by far the neatest and best(Even if it still sucks).They also have the best pen on the market as it is battery-less, and slightly weighty(The chinese ones are usually need recharging, really light, and feels cheap and weird to the hand..but you'll get used to it after a while) Wacom is generally and safe choice to go with (as they have the best technology,build quality and software) and the Intuos is really good and safe for beginners. PS: know you asked a simple question and didn't need a such a stupidly long explanation...but I have all this useless knowledge in my head and I kinda wanna use it at least once in my life.
There is no such thing as a beginner in art you just have to start! for digital artist tablet is a must nowdays for minimu equipment since drawing on paper and scanning is. a hassle :D I bought wacom intuos 3 right away (skipping graphire later bamboo series) because it's investment, 10 pen nibs later it's still as good as new So, yeah intuos is good for everyone

Just being curious here, how is the drawing surface? I got the last intuos model because it was lighter, but I didn't like the rough drawing surface, it felt like drawing on sandpaper. So instead I stuck with the Intuos 5, which just feels smoother.
I dont get why people are so mad that they "Got an older one right before this was announced" This new tablet is no better then the Intuos Draw, Bamboo, Art, Etc. The only differences is the design and pressure sensitivity. (Which is so high you wont notice it)

Did they really? I guess that means they aren't mentioning that the CSP license is only 2-years on purpose with the new Intuos as well since it literally doesn't say "2-year" anywhere on Wacom's site right now. Just marketing tactics huh. I seriously doubt the higher pressure levels mean anything. I have all 3 generations of Intuos (CTL-480, CTL-490DW, and CTL4100) and whether I use the 1024 or 4096 tablet, they all draw the exact same. I wish they wouldn't include the bundled software for a different reason. I wish they wouldn't include it because then the tablet itself would actually cost much less (I think it'd be like 50 USD instead of 80-100 USD). Then if you choose to use free software like Krita, you won't have to pay extra for programs you're never going to use.
@@sasjack0078 You can still use other programs on your computer, this is optional to get one or however much of the programs depending on your version of your tablet. If your talking about paying for the programs all of them are free expect after 2 years of clip studio paint for free you have to pay but even then I believe you get a discounted price for the lifetime. ^^
Offtopic question: Do you use a stabilzer plugin like "Lazy Nezumi"? I have to do a lot of lineart for work, so I was wondering what your opinion is on it. Edit: Do you use PS? And if so, do you know a good brush managing plugin and a perspective plugin?
I don't, I have tried a stabilizer that came with Paint tool sai once,but I am so used to drawing without it, it doesn't really makes me quicker oder more effective :'D
Alison Roze its pretty useful if you use PS or another program without a stabilizer. Its supposed to work with sai and other programs but it only works for me in PS and TVPaint . Otherwise its pretty useful and worth the price
I have the older intuos and now that I see this I'm sorta mad that the old one only came with the single packages, but this one comes with more than one.

@Ath Collins I really like mine, it helps me be so much more precise than using a mouse for everything from editing photos to doing full drawings/paintings/editing in photoshop.

@@daiki2820 Hey, I did not expect anybody to go down that far in the comment section of this video 😂🤣. However. By know I at least found the perfect solution (for myself that is). I ended up buying a full Tablet (Galaxy Tab S6) - I sold my Laptop (I still have a decent desktop PC) and am now able to take notes with the tablet. At the same time I can have a decent feel for the art I am creating as I am creating it. It was extremely easy to get used to drawing on a screen, idk if this stands true if ur screen is in front of ur face while u draw on something in front of ur chest.
I don't draw, but I use a Wacom tablet (integrated with the Lenovo Thinkpad L380 Yoga) to better improve my handwriting in my life. I was practically taught to write right-handed and because of that I never learned how to write left. The Intuos is very good for everyone in general, whether it's for handwriting, digital art, or even just osu!

If the battery of your old tablet started to inflate, shouldn't you replace it quickly? As far as I know inflated lithium batteries are prone to explode.

I just bought this tablet today. First I bought a fancy Huion Kamvas Display tablet. I was so excited about it but when it arrived the thing wouldn't even turn on. It wasn't getting power. I had to stay up all night to chat with the support people who decided it had a faulty cable. I bought it on ebay and had to get eBay's help to return it because they wanted me to pay for the return. I couldn't afford a Wacom display tablet so I bought the small version of their drawing tablet to see if I liked it and just installing the drivers and downloading the free programs made me so happy. What a difference in the two companies. Wacom is so nice, and so professional. It's going to take some getting used to looking at my computer screen while drawing but hopefully I'll get used to it. Now I have to learn how to use the new software, lol.

Cortacabellos I got an Intuos Draw Small (technically used, but barely, and on Ebay). It's great and I wouldn't be without the touch feature as I'm used to my Mac's track pad. :)
Just what I needed to learn, I have never even tried to draw with a pad. One question, once you are satisfied with your drawing, how do you save and how flexible is the drawing with other programmes. NeonKraken So I have a question: I want to get a graphics tablet that I can use for osu! and digital art that’s under $150. For the most part, I’ve narrowed it down to the CTH-480 and this (CTL4100). So it seems like the easy decision would be to go with the CTH-480 because so many ranked players use it and there are so many great reviews about it. My only issue is this: it’s nine years old, whereas the newer Intuos (CTH-4100) just came out last year. Are there any advantages to the 4100 besides the fact that it is newer? Will the 480 be outdated soon? Is it still good for digital art? Thanks.

Emily's art UwU Hmm...I don’t know since I want this tablet and don’t have it yet, (I have to save up for it), but I’m assuming you can manually do it through your computer or assign an express key to it.
You make it appear that this replaced the other one you showed, but it didn't. The Intuos 5 Medium that you show was replaced by the Intuos Pro and later the Intuos Pro Paper which are both still available. The one you are reviewing is not the latest version of it, but is actually the newest graphire / bamboo version. The old Intuos became the pro line when bamboo became Intuos. You can't really compare the sizes when you are comparing a small to a medium. You can't really compare an old pro version to the new entry level version.
I compared my older tablet with my newer one. Of course you can do that, not sure if you have watched other reviews but it's not really uncommon (intuos 2015 review by teoh yi chie e.g) Please give me the time mark where I said the new intuos is the latest version of the intuos 5. I mean even talked about the intuos art/photo/3d etc. So if you want to mix it up, sure you can because they have the same name, but that's it.
Ive got one and never used it , because it says that the Code for the Tablet Programm was already used , even though i bought it completely new. I tried to contact them but no one would react or even Pick Up the Phone .

Not sure why you're comparing the pen of this new-gen Intuos to last-gen Intuos Pro... Surely you should have compared it to last-gen Intuos, where the pen was also rubberless, thinner plastic (only last time the nibs were in the tablet, seems to be the only change).
Well, I can only compare what I have experience with. It's pretty obvious if you ask me. And after comparing those to people might figure out if they want to go with the new intuos or if they want an intuos 5. I really don't see where the problem is. Are you only allowed to compare tablets that came out directly after the old one?
There's no rule saying you can't compare two different products from each other. The problem was that your entire video suggests that this new generation was a downgrade, rather than admitting you were comparing it with a superior tablet. You should make clear to the viewers that you are using a more-expensive tablet for comparison and come out suggesting that they should invest more into an older generation tablet; not just leave any uninformed conflicted over whether the new tablet is ripping them off in certain areas. The basis of your comparison would be just as flawed as as if I compared the last generation i5 GPU against this generations i3 GPU; or if I were to compare a last years iPhone against a budget supermarket smartphone that just came out. To point out the flaws of the cheaper newer product is menial almost beyond pointless. In your case it would have been far better if you had shown images of the changes to the generational upgrade in equivalent tablets, whilst noting you haven't used it. Alternatively don't try and make a comparison in the review if you don't have a comparable piece of hardware and don't feel confident to comment on its improvements. I'd hoped your ignorance to this during the review was simply because you didn't know you were comparing different product tiers. That you hadn't realised it's last-generation equivalent had the same flaws you used against the new tablet. But instead of accepting the criticism, you'd rather fight with a viewer that your comparison was justified 'because they're all you had'. Admit to the price difference whilst comparing them, do some research on what the upgrade actually changed (Google should suffice, you don't need to hold the pen to see it's the same plastic or shape), or if you don't want to review like that then don't compare them. It really is that simple.
I've been reading reviews that the pen nib that comes with the tablet wears down too quickly, and not as good as the previous model's pen. How's the pen holding up for you on this tablet so far?
Guys! It's best to make sure you have clip studio! It allows you to illustrate, create comics and manga, and animate, more than the other applications! Totally would recommend this.
What do you thinks is better for me? It's my first time getting a tablet, but not my first time doing digital art, so I guess I have a little tiny of experience, but I'm just dealing now between Wacom Intuos w/Bluethoot (medium size) or the Wacom Intuos Pro 2017(medium size as well) And I'm really looking forward to use the tablet as much as posible. And the fact that the Wacom Intuos comes with 3 programs it's amazing, but I can't stop thinking in the express keys in the intuos pro HAHAH! Usami with magic stick personally, I’m very used to the bamboo so I’d recommend the bamboo since it’s cheaper, medium work space, and has buttons/hot keys on the side
I personally been using the Bamboo Create (Pen and Touch version) for 5 years before upgrading to the XP-Pen Artist 10s. So I'd say go for it, there really isn't much difference to the Bamboo and non-pro Intuos lines. (Also yes I'm 3 months late but I'm just gonna throw in my 2 cents.)
Thank you - this was really usefull! the tablet looks awesome! XP-PEN is the top competitor, I use an XP-Pen Star 03, with most of the features the Wacom Intuos tablets have but at a cheaper price.

its on the computer/laptop screen there are drawing tablets where you can just see it directly on the tablet but those are usually more expensive.

I dont get why people are so mad that they "Got an older one right before this was announced" This new tablet is no better then the Intuos Draw, Bamboo, Art, Etc. The only differences is the design and pressure sensitivity. (Which is so high you wont notice it)

Did they really? I guess that means they aren't mentioning that the CSP license is only 2-years on purpose with the new Intuos as well since it literally doesn't say "2-year" anywhere on Wacom's site right now. Just marketing tactics huh.
I seriously doubt the higher pressure levels mean anything. I have all 3 generations of Intuos (CTL-480, CTL-490DW, and CTL4100) and whether I use the 1024 or 4096 tablet, they all draw the exact same.
I wish they wouldn't include the bundled software for a different reason. I wish they wouldn't include it because then the tablet itself would actually cost much less (I think it'd be like 50 USD instead of 80-100 USD). Then if you choose to use free software like Krita, you won't have to pay extra for programs you're never going to use.
False, I bought the non bluetooth intuos small and got all 3 softwares installed, free of charge

@@sasjack0078 You can still use other programs on your computer, this is optional to get one or however much of the programs depending on your version of your tablet. If your talking about paying for the programs all of them are free expect after 2 years of clip studio paint for free you have to pay but even then I believe you get a discounted price for the lifetime. ^^

Offtopic question: Do you use a stabilzer plugin like "Lazy Nezumi"? I have to do a lot of lineart for work, so I was wondering what your opinion is on it.
Edit: Do you use PS? And if so, do you know a good brush managing plugin and a perspective plugin?
I don't, I have tried a stabilizer that came with Paint tool sai once,but I am so used to drawing without it, it doesn't really makes me quicker oder more effective :'D

Alison Roze its pretty useful if you use PS or another program without a stabilizer. Its supposed to work with sai and other programs but it only works for me in PS and TVPaint . Otherwise its pretty useful and worth the price

But it seems the new version doesnt have touch sensitivity so you cant use the tablet to zoom in/out. im guessing ur old one has this function

@Ath Collins I really like mine, it helps me be so much more precise than using a mouse for everything from editing photos to doing full drawings/paintings/editing in photoshop.

However. By know I at least found the perfect solution (for myself that is). I ended up buying a full Tablet (Galaxy Tab S6) - I sold my Laptop (I still have a decent desktop PC) and am now able to take notes with the tablet. At the same time I can have a decent feel for the art I am creating as I am creating it. It was extremely easy to get used to drawing on a screen, idk if this stands true if ur screen is in front of ur face while u draw on something in front of ur chest.

I don't draw, but I use a Wacom tablet (integrated with the Lenovo Thinkpad L380 Yoga) to better improve my handwriting in my life. I was practically taught to write right-handed and because of that I never learned how to write left. The Intuos is very good for everyone in general, whether it's for handwriting, digital art, or even just osu!

It is just like any peripherals.. it requires you to install a driver in your computer and voila you are good to go.

I've been looking into getting my first drawing tablet seriously for like a week now and I'm so lucky I didn't just buy the older one now that this one is out. I'm only debating the size, which... 100 euros for a bigger size is a LOT, but a smaller size isn't easier or handier either...
Im happy with the last gen of intuos the shortcut keys are faster to press!!!
The sensors were not that much different for elementary models so the older one works surprisingly well too
i have the small, and it works just fine for me. its not too small. unless you have huge hands, you should be comfortable.
If I had some money saving advice, buy either used or off of eBay.

I just bought this tablet today. First I bought a fancy Huion Kamvas Display tablet. I was so excited about it but when it arrived the thing wouldn't even turn on. It wasn't getting power. I had to stay up all night to chat with the support people who decided it had a faulty cable. I bought it on ebay and had to get eBay's help to return it because they wanted me to pay for the return. I couldn't afford a Wacom display tablet so I bought the small version of their drawing tablet to see if I liked it and just installing the drivers and downloading the free programs made me so happy. What a difference in the two companies. Wacom is so nice, and so professional. It's going to take some getting used to looking at my computer screen while drawing but hopefully I'll get used to it. Now I have to learn how to use the new software, lol.

I wish I could. It seems to be fixed as a single unit. I'm reticent to fiddle with it too much in case I break it. But, it is time got myself something new at this point in time. It's like an old Buick that needs to be put on a shelf, y'know?
@@Domzdream I think I know what you mean, my first tablet was a small graphire wacom - it also had a fixed nib. I guess the replaceable nibs came after.

Cortacabellos I got an Intuos Draw Small (technically used, but barely, and on Ebay). It's great and I wouldn't be without the touch feature as I'm used to my Mac's track pad. :)

So I have a question: I want to get a graphics tablet that I can use for osu! and digital art that’s under $150. For the most part, I’ve narrowed it down to the CTH-480 and this (CTL4100). So it seems like the easy decision would be to go with the CTH-480 because so many ranked players use it and there are so many great reviews about it. My only issue is this: it’s nine years old, whereas the newer Intuos (CTH-4100) just came out last year. Are there any advantages to the 4100 besides the fact that it is newer? Will the 480 be outdated soon? Is it still good for digital art? Thanks.

You make it appear that this replaced the other one you showed, but it didn't. The Intuos 5 Medium that you show was replaced by the Intuos Pro and later the Intuos Pro Paper which are both still available. The one you are reviewing is not the latest version of it, but is actually the newest graphire / bamboo version. The old Intuos became the pro line when bamboo became Intuos. You can't really compare the sizes when you are comparing a small to a medium. You can't really compare an old pro version to the new entry level version.
I compared my older tablet with my newer one. Of course you can do that, not sure if you have watched other reviews but it's not really uncommon (intuos 2015 review by teoh yi chie e.g)

Ive got one and never used it , because it says that the Code for the Tablet Programm was already used , even though i bought it completely new. I tried to contact them but no one would react or even Pick Up the Phone .

Not sure why you're comparing the pen of this new-gen Intuos to last-gen Intuos Pro... Surely you should have compared it to last-gen Intuos, where the pen was also rubberless, thinner plastic (only last time the nibs were in the tablet, seems to be the only change).
Well, I can only compare what I have experience with. It's pretty obvious if you ask me.
And after comparing those to people might figure out if they want to go with the new intuos or if they want an intuos 5. I really don't see where the problem is. Are you only allowed to compare tablets that came out directly after the old one?
There's no rule saying you can't compare two different products from each other. The problem was that your entire video suggests that this new generation was a downgrade, rather than admitting you were comparing it with a superior tablet. You should make clear to the viewers that you are using a more-expensive tablet for comparison and come out suggesting that they should invest more into an older generation tablet; not just leave any uninformed conflicted over whether the new tablet is ripping them off in certain areas.
The basis of your comparison would be just as flawed as as if I compared the last generation i5 GPU against this generations i3 GPU; or if I were to compare a last years iPhone against a budget supermarket smartphone that just came out. To point out the flaws of the cheaper newer product is menial almost beyond pointless. In your case it would have been far better if you had shown images of the changes to the generational upgrade in equivalent tablets, whilst noting you haven't used it. Alternatively don't try and make a comparison in the review if you don't have a comparable piece of hardware and don't feel confident to comment on its improvements.
I'd hoped your ignorance to this during the review was simply because you didn't know you were comparing different product tiers. That you hadn't realised it's last-generation equivalent had the same flaws you used against the new tablet. But instead of accepting the criticism, you'd rather fight with a viewer that your comparison was justified 'because they're all you had'. Admit to the price difference whilst comparing them, do some research on what the upgrade actually changed (Google should suffice, you don't need to hold the pen to see it's the same plastic or shape), or if you don't want to review like that then don't compare them. It really is that simple.

Guys! It's best to make sure you have clip studio! It allows you to illustrate, create comics and manga, and animate, more than the other applications! Totally would recommend this.

Usami with magic stick personally, I’m very used to the bamboo so I’d recommend the bamboo since it’s cheaper, medium work space, and has buttons/hot keys on the side

I personally been using the Bamboo Create (Pen and Touch version) for 5 years before upgrading to the XP-Pen Artist 10s. So I'd say go for it, there really isn't much difference to the Bamboo and non-pro Intuos lines.
(Also yes I'm 3 months late but I'm just gonna throw in my 2 cents.)
Thank you - this was really usefull! the tablet looks awesome! XP-PEN is the top competitor, I use an XP-Pen Star 03, with most of the features the Wacom Intuos tablets have but at a cheaper price.
