    Thanks for the review, but I notice that at 5:46 you forgot to mention that the programs you get are different based on the version you buy, and also that the Clip Studio Paint Pro license is only a 2-year license, not a lifetime license.
    (The second point about the 2-year Clip Studio Paint Pro license is not your fault though because Wacom fails to mention that it's a 2-year license anywhere on their site, and it's only mentioned briefly on Amazon and directly on Clip Studio Paint's site).
    *Wacom Intuos 2018 Small non-Bluetooth (CTL4100)*
    Pick 1 of 2 programs, either Corel Painter Essentials 6 or Corel Aftershot 3. No option of Clip Studio Paint with this version.
    *Wacom Intuos 2018 Small with Bluetooth (CTL4100WL)*
    Pick 2 of 3 programs, either Corel Painter Essentials 6, Corel Aftershot 3, or 2-year Clip Studio Paint Pro license.
    *Wacom Intuos 2018 Medium with Bluetooth (CTL6100WL)*
    You can download all 3 programs.
    _Note: 2-year Clip Studio Paint Pro license downgrades to basic Clip Studio Paint Debut license after the 2 years._
    I just think this is important to mention since you were mainly reviewing the medium edition which has access to all 3 programs, and people may mistakenly think that they would have access to all 3 programs no matter which version they buy as well.

      7nikage Just bought the small bluetooth version. Wacom changed the software licensing so you get all 3 programs free, no matter what version you buy. Apparently, Wacom really believes size doesn’t matter. ;-) Seriously, it’s a great tablet for a beginner/non-pro like myself.

XP Pen Deco1v2, Huion H430p, and Wacom 2018 were my final three. im not a pro, but i do love drawing drawing comics and other fanart using tradional style and i like to go digital. can you help me by recommending which should i go with? i hope you dont mind, its not about your video, but your review is the best one ive ever watched and you seem to really know what youre talking about. thank you.

    Robert, I would like to ask if I could use the Intuos medium as a handwriting platform for my online physics courses.
    Please advise me I’m tempted to buy and not to buy.

    • @RobertHranitzky
      @RobertHranitzky  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ali Abdi Well, it might not be ideal for that purpose as you would need to look at the screen in front of you (rather than down to where you are actually writing). Which means you’d need a good hand eye coordination or at least get used to that. To be honest I’ve never used it myself for this kind of purpose. But I did try it with handwriting recognition on both Mac and Win and technically it does work - question is how feasible it is in every da use for this task. Hope this helps.

    At about 5:09 you say there's a button on the front side of the pen which you can use to scroll.
    Looking at images of the pen, I only see two buttons. Is that button one of the two or is there a third button which you can use to scroll?
    (This would be important to have with 3D software to allow for zooming without using other key combos)

    • @furtall
      @furtall 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      O, you answer my doubt a few seconds later: you can program one of the two buttons to work as a scrolling trigger!

    • @RobertHranitzky
      @RobertHranitzky  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, and sorry for not being clearer on this one! The button I was referring to is indeed the first of the two on the pen. The only pen that has three buttons is actually the Pro Pen 3D which is only available for the Intuos Pro range (and Cintiq). Hope this helps!

    2018 Intuos Small or the late Intuos Pro Small (PTH451) which one would you say is better?

    • @RobertHranitzky
      @RobertHranitzky  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer the Intuos Pro. The Intuos is thinner though but also has fewer features, but if you don't need these then the Intuos is also a great tablet to work with. I use mine when I want to travel super lightweight and have very little space.

    • @RobertHranitzky
      @RobertHranitzky  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniele Fettucciari You’re welcome. So I would recommend the new Intuos Medium. It has over 4K pressure levels vs 2k on the older Intuos Pro. The active area on the medium is also larger than on the small and the weight as well as height are much lower. You‘ll love the Intuos. Actually when I want to travel light or give presentations I sometimes take the Intuos (not Pro) with me, although I use the Pro and Cintiqs in my studio on a daily basis. Have fun and happy new year.

I'd recommend a (relatively) cheap one such as the XP-Pen Deco 01 which is what I use for 3D Sculpting in Blender and have tried dabbling in digital art within photoshop sometimes but prefer 3D Modeling more than drawing.

    I’m curious to know if the surface gets scratched up easily and if the nibs worn off fast? I bought the Wacom intuos pro but I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews of it so I’m thinking of having it exchange

    • @RobertHranitzky
      @RobertHranitzky  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't notice any notable scratches. Just the normal wear of a surface. The nibs wear off as they're made of plastic (so is the surface). If you want to have a scratch free surface with nibs not wearing off it is best to put the tablet on a shelf for presentation purposes. I personally prefer to use them for work, make money through work and if necessary replace what needs replacing.
      By the way, I also noticed that the tires on my car also wear off and I have to replace them ;)

      My tip is, once you got it. Force yourself to just use the tablet and not the mouse (maybe disconnect it). Might be weird at first but will speed up getting used to it! Have fun!

      Then you have to buy some on the website...the point is...its too expensive.I have one medium and i am afraid that that happens😂😂.

      @RobertHranitzky  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s something that naturally wears off, so of course if it needs replacing you need to buy extra ones. I think they’re around 4-5€ for a pack of five.

      Haven’t updated to Catalina yet. But I think the latest driver is supporting it. Please check the Wacom website to be sure.

    Seeing as I could only afford the small version, I was really bummed when I found out I wouldn't be able to access Clip :/

    • @anderu0779
      @anderu0779 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why not consider Wacom alternatives? They offer you more features at a lower price point. 7nikage (I believe that's his site) had listed a good deal of info which you can check out on at digitalarttabletguides.wordpress.com/graphic-tablets/. I recently stumbled upon his site and decided on XP-Pen Deco 03 because XP-Pen's store is having an anniversary sale now at www.storexppen.com/. Else I may have settled with the author's fav Huion H1060P.
      You can use the money saved to get Clip? Or settle with free alternatives. Also mentioned in 7nikage's site.
      Hope the info is still useful to you.
