Appreciate what you did here. I'm first time subi engine remover as well. I'm caught up and going to part 2.

I'd like to see a better closeup on how the coolant lines to the intake are attached and routed.

Goood job. I hope you have a video of installing the forged internals.

Thanks! Still trying to source a crank, looks like I'm probably going to end up buying a new one. While I'm waiting I need to go through the tedious process of cleaning everything of the metal debris.

Mark Methods just saw this, ignore my other comment on the other video then 😂
Do you have a source for forged internals yet? If so, care to link?

My situation currently, limited with time to work on the motor due to work. As of rn i dont have a hoist just a motor stand and i just got the fuel rails off as well as intake and water pipe. Yeah if your wondering if the motor is still in the car lol yep but looking to get hoist on payday. Awesome video

Hi Mark, Are you going to have a part 3 of these videos?

    • @MarkMethods

I wanted to, had all the forged parts and started the process; been rethinking my approach with the kmiata K24 swap. More potential reliable power/torque and cheaper to replace motor is tough to argue. But with car prices being so elevated I may set it to stock and sell the BRZ and think about my next car. So many options, I'll be sure to post an update.

Hey brother this video was extremely helpful! Thanks for uploading! What's the name of the part you removed at 10:08?

How did your intake valves look? Gummed up at all?

How are you doing your labeling and stuff

    • @MarkMethods
      @MarkMethods  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I didn't label anything, I ended up bagging the bolts that went with the parts I pulled. Label if you need to, everyone's process will be a bit different.

did you have a diagram of what process to go off of and what order to go in?

Hey! I used the factory service manual, if you google "ft86 demos manual" there's a web version. I can't link it otherwise I'll probably get in trouble.

When you removed the high pressure fuel lines, did you remove the pieces that stayed in the block. They wiggle a bit and iam not sure if I should pull them

At 11:40 I ended up taking the HPFP and coolant crossover off together; I left as much stuff together as I could to simplify reassembly. This was a low mileage motor, had it been higher I'd be taking more of it apart for replacement and inspection.

They're reliable if left stock and maintained, adding more power always reduces reliability.
