1. Tells us he's wanted a Capri for a long time 2. Tells us how hard they are getting to find 3. Drives his new Capri sideways down a snowy mountain road for our entertainment I love this series. Great to see another installment!
The Ford Capri was about as close to a muscle car there ever was in Germany at the time- but since the gas was 5 times more expensive... most of them had the 1.3l and 1.5l engines with under 70hp.. and they were still cool cars
add a massivly weighted flywheel, cam it and do valve springs, it will rev to 8700 rpm, drop the clutch and watch it wheelie. my dad did this and i still have pictures of it doing wheelies at winterport dragway. i wish he never got rid of it
I've never sold anything, all of my cars got wrecked. I even rolled (4 times) a 1986 Nissan Maxima in 1985. It had less than 100km on the odometer. I have always loved rallying. My heroes were rally drivers. They were the greatest influence in my live... Come to think of it, maybe they were the worst influence...
I love tiny rwd cars in the snow. I had a Chevette for 4 years or so back in the 90’s. So light and maneuverable. With for quality snow tires it was a blast!
I had a chance to drive this very car on the 2021 Great American Mountain Rally Revival, thanks to Mr. O'Neil. With Ralph Beckman as navigator, we placed 1st overall. Very fun to drive, good power from the V6.
Good to see another old car on Will It Rally. About Tim wrecking his Capri as a youngster... I still have my first car in my driveway from when I was 15 and didn't maintain it and it broke down... I'll fix it someday. lol
I actually owned a '76 Capri 2 S 'Black Cat' (think JPS livery color scheme) as my very first, bought new from the Mercury dealer, ride. Cologne (?) 2.8 liter V-6, 2 bbl. carb, 4 speed manual, and had some torque on tap for a fairly light car. I DO miss it sometimes, but like the aesthetics of the Mk1s, like Tim's above, especially in silver, a bit more. ;)
I really miss my Capri. I got a series II because it was the only thing I could afford and fell in love with it. I only sold it because I moved countries.
Nicely done, Tim! I enjoyed your narrative as much as your driving. A good friend bought a new Capri back then; I (being the wrench among our little street racing circle) even got to change his nylon timing gears when they broke.
I'm a little bit of a rally enthusiast, but I'm a huge Capri fan. It's really nice to see a Capri in action. Just like you, I had a Capri in my youth ('90's). Mine was an English 1970, with a v4 (2000gt). Again, the same story, couldn't afford to keep it well and youthful exuberance meant that it didn't flourish under my care. I'm desperate to have one again. It would be the start of my old car collection. My aspiration would be to make it a 'daily driver' but with some mod cons added in to make it tolerable. Ac and powersteering would be top of my list, but merely restoring it to the point of it not being a miserable old rattle trap is, I know, a far greater challenge than those additions. But I gotta find one here in the Caribbean first! Wish me luck
My parents' first car was gifted as a blue 1977 Mercury Capri II. The feature was with a 4spd 2.3ltr engine purchased in Los Angeles, CA. My parents utilized this Capri between 1977-1995. I inherited this vehicle for a graduation gift. The car had about 150k, however my parents invested about 3k, ensuring I would have sturdy vehicle. The vehicle lasted 3 years before its calling to the junk yard at 210k. I miss that car dearly.....😢
Tim, you are the owner of the school and Team O’Neill?? Thanks so much for doing so much for the rally sport in this country and for sharing this channel with us!
The Capri is such a good looking car, I wish they were sold here in the states. They could have had the full size lineup of two door cars if they wanted to. Escort, Capri, mustang, thunderbird, and probably more.
They were! This is one of them! They sold the Mk1 as late as 74', they skipped 75 for the Mk2, but sold them again for 76 and 77'. States did not receive the so called Mk3, but never the less the was sold over 500.000 units in North America and that is over 1/4 of the total production! They are not that rare, but as he said people that have them tend to hang on to them. Here in Norway we have under 1000 cars left in total. I bet some states in US has more than that alone.
Timmer, remember I rallied one when you had the 99 Saab . Now I’m building a V8 one for me to street drive. I’ll bring you the left overs for that one! Take care my friend!
I've got an idea for a video. Lots of off-road vehicles use CVTs for th traction benefits they offer so my question is, how would a car with a CVT perform in rally? My guess is better than most would expect but it would be cool to see a comparison. Maybe get a manual version and a CVT version of the same car and show what they can do. I have a feeling the CVT would be more effective overall.

man it sounds so good though.
Philip Clark helped design the Mustang & Capri. It also used components from the mk2 Ford Cortina.

The vibe of this video is superb. 1st video sence Wyatt left that i didn't miss him.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Normal people : I wish I didn't sell it!
O'neil : I wish I didn't wreck it!
xD

Living my dream too brother .. 🤌🏻🙏🏼

Right on!
god I love how high that rides

This thing takes you back in time… so good
How about that SAAB? ;)
this car and the driving in the snow looks magnificent!
Good to see another old car on Will It Rally.

Please make more such videos. It adds a human (and slightly humorous) side to rallying.

First Capri I have seen in that color. Looks good with the Fox GT wheels too. Awesome car thanks for sharing!
You bet!! Thanks for watching!
happy to see this series back!
Think I just found the perfect series I didn't know I was needing so much
Love the Capri. I've looked for one from time to time as well. Would love to have one, or a similar era Escort.
I have a 72 Capri in Europe for sale if you're interested
I was half expecting this to be Mike Hurst's beautiful Ford Capri rally car. Love seeing the old stuff out hanging their tails wide.
god that looks like so much fun, how lucky
Please bring this series back. I would love to see something like this once a week
It's good to see someone actually driving their old cars, not just having them be garaged and paraded sometimes.
Always nice when the boss comes out to play!!!
You got that right!
I really miss my Capri. I got a series II because it was the only thing I could afford and fell in love with it. I only sold it because I moved countries.
I would watch every video of Tim driving around and telling stories.
I’d love to see more talk about the car! Engine, transmission, and especially TIRE talk. Great video!
We're going to be providing an episode on that.
Nicely done, Tim! I enjoyed your narrative as much as your driving. A good friend bought a new Capri back then; I (being the wrench among our little street racing circle) even got to change his nylon timing gears when they broke.
I drove my 75 Capri MKII through 4 Canadian prairie winters in the late 80's. Lots of fun...not much heat...but still miss it!
Great driving and explanations, Tim. Thanks for showing love to the simple old cars.
What a beautiful car! Thank you for sharing this dream with us.
So happy to see this series return!
The legend!! Mr team!

@@MrPacsone thank you for the offer, but my country doesn't allow import of old cars, so I'm afraid I'm stuck with finding one here in Trinidad.

Love the car! RWD offroad fun is the best
Maybe there is already a video like this but I would love to see more about Tim. What a cool video though!
Tim, you are the owner of the school and Team O’Neill?? Thanks so much for doing so much for the rally sport in this country and for sharing this channel with us!
Will it rally is back!?!?!
Been saving to come to this school for awhile. Hopefully I can come when it snows!
Rear wheel drive, best wheel drive!
Very nice, I had no idea you got Capri's in North America.
The Capri is such a good looking car, I wish they were sold here in the states. They could have had the full size lineup of two door cars if they wanted to. Escort, Capri, mustang, thunderbird, and probably more.

Great to see Tim in his element! "Once you stop playing, you die" - Sandy Munro
Keep doing the series
Gorgeous car
Such a great looking car, and it looks even better being rallied.
Timmer, remember I rallied one when you had the 99 Saab . Now I’m building a V8 one for me to street drive. I’ll bring you the left overs for that one! Take care my friend!
sick car. nice to see something else for a change. but yeah it looks bouncy.
Man, this is the best "slow cars fast" testament ever!
Will my Mazda CX-30 awd Turbo rally? Dying to know ...
You guys have way more snow up there then they have in rally Monte Carlo 2022.
Miss ol' Wyatt, hope he is doing well.
Hopefully he will be back.
Could you guys do one with a newer model Nissan for this series? (i.e.- Versa/Sentra/Altima) Thanks!
now thats my kinda rally car

You could do that with some newer Subaru WRX
what id give to be able to do that, looks so fun
Oversized Ford Escort hits it in gravel. Absolutely grand.
I love this so much haha
Basically a Ford Escort which was the definitive rally car so no surprise it is good.
Fun😍👍🏽
it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than drive a fast car
Do one 'will ot rally' with the rav4. Its a really popular vehicle with quite some generations. Its gonna be fun 😅!
It is safe to say that it was rally!😁
I used to drive an '84 Mercury Capri! It was the same exact car used in a eminem music video.
Nice :)
I think we all know the answer is a resounding yes
Can you do a “Will it rally? golf cart”
where is wyatt?
Anybody else interested in seeing a "will it rally?" episode with a Mitsubishi 3000GT/GTO?
I know I am.
that video feels entertaining. try rallying a taxi.
AMC SX/4 can it rally lol
Too pretty to rally
🤔 Will my '83 4cyl Mercury Capri Rally ? 🤔
🤔 Opinions welcomed 🤔
🤔 Asking for a Friend 🤔
