I think the negatives you describe are all quite reasonably linked to a design that has its roots in the late 1970's i.e. 50 years out of date. I thought you were going to say that the crude flat windscreen was really cheap but I guess they found a way to make it really expensive !
How much would it cost to buy a G wagon rear door and how much would you make on TH-cam testing out that theory whether is is bullet proof? Just sayin.

Other than the Landcruiser, the G Wagon is the 2nd vehicle I would drive around the world.
The Land Cruiser will get you around the world with little issue. This will just get a lot of looks while you do it.

In the 80s we were told G-Wagon was originally made by Mercedes for the Austrian Army and then became available for the public to buy..
It was first made for a military suggestion by the king of Iran.
How difficult was it removing those side trim pieces? I'm thinking about doing the same for mine.

I think it has an electrically heated windshield, which means it has wires going through it that are so thin that you can't even see it to heat it up.
What about underneath the truck, very expensive and complicated once you open it up.
The engine in the G63 is the M157, you find loads of issues with this engine online.
Almost all of those issues were on the early model with timing chain stretching and tensioners go bad, 2011 2012, every other issue they have is minor

That so looks like a Toyota Land Cruiser except the interior is better
Plus you cant start and drive right away you have to check and do some work every month which is not the case for toyota
