One of the best car reviewers on TH-cam nowadays. Thanks for your great work. I‘ve driven the BMW i5 already and I liked it more then I expected. After some hours of driving, it just felt kind of natural. There‘s nothing really spectacularly awesome about this car, it‘s the full package that pleased me. Just an overall well designed and build car.
Yes, totally agree..at first I wasn't that impressed but after getting used to it and understanding the whole package I quickly started to like it!

Great review. Just ordered one after testing a number of ev’s. To me it is a great midway between the fully tech and very powerful “classic” ev’s such as Tesla/BYD and ev’s that feel like they are in development phase like VW/Audi. Power and dynamics are just right (especially for the rwd e-drive 40). They still feel like a car but have all the tech you need/want. Range is acceptable (in my situation) and it beats ICE cars in comfort.
Great choice! Bmw is among the best when it comes to building EVs on hybrid platforms. They manage to keep the classic feeling but yet have good efficiency. Thanks for watching 🎉
Great review! I have owned the i5 M60 for two months. This is my third BMW (650i and X5 M50i), but first EV ever. Pick up and performance is amazing. While not initially a fan of the exterior, it has grown on me. However, I like the fact that unlike Mercedes, BMW has chosen to make the majority of their EVs look like like their gas powered counterparts.
Interior is beautifully thought out. But, I do agree that BMW cut some cost corners inside. I miss having the the wood trim done not extend to the iDrive control section and that the phone holders are missing some type of trimmed cover as was the case in both my previous BMWs. It always added clean elevated look to the cabin when closed. It feels like they were trying to cut cost corners.

Great review! I custom ordered mine. edrive40 carbon black fully loaded. I test drove it a ton. Yes, it has plenty of power and it drives smooth. Luxury. I love it looks like an ICE car. 🎉

@@ItsOnlyElectric Yeah. It took a few months. Should be in port this week and then about a week for delivery. So, I have to resort to watch TH-cam videos about the car while I wait. So many haters, but few have drove the car. Besides the excellent look and speed, the audio experience (Hans Zimmer), infotainment system options, and luxury is superb.

Hey man! I had a question. My grandpas car got stuck at the port and the car dealership has no idea when it will come. So my grandpa is thinking of getting a x5 or maybe a 5 series. Do you know if the 5 series comes in a hybrid? If you have a recommendation on what he should get let me know. Thanks!

The new 5 series will be available as a hybrid but doesn't seem to be available in Sweden yet .don't know how it is where you are.

Because of the one pedal, the disc brakes are getting rusty very easily in the winter and then you don’t pass the 2 years check without changing all of them for 2500 Euro.
The car breaks with the friction breaks once in a while by itself (very subtle) to prevent exactly this. I have one for 4 months now, always in B mode, no rust at all.
Need to turn off opd every now and then to use the brakes.
@@ItsOnlyElectric No need to turn off OPD, once a month I just go to a safe place, drive to 80km/h and hit the brakes moderately hard 2-3 times, this clears any surface contamination and re-beds the pads. I have a calendar reminder for the 15th of each month on my phone.

It's well over my expectations
Decent car but when you can get Porsche Macan EV for same money the decision becomes very clear (even though it's sedan vs SUV), at least for me!

It seems odd to me how old this design approach from BMW appears to be, in this such a small timeframe, specially when comparing to true electric platforms.
The price isn't match it's value, BMW needs to rethink about HYBRID plateform, other brand building Pure EV plateform with awesome Rear leg room and shit, but BMW still, shitty Technology APP with phone.
Immediate power and other brands have not? you clearly haven’t test driven a Model S yet, the i5 is a joke compared to the Tesla.
I'm not talking about Tesla here. I own amodel y p and have owned a model 3 p and a Model s. Now very well how responsive Tesla are. But bmw managed it good compared to other brands.
The BMW i5 is not a proper electric car. How did BMW lose its way from the innovative i3 that was ahead of its time to this? Electric cars built on Petrol/diesel platforms rip off the consumer. They tend to be more inefficient than ground up EVs, have less space and are heavier.
The BMW IX also. Built fully electric from ground up and next gen will be. This has been a good compromise for BMW to minimize risk and still have sting finances.

@@markc3874 Well, this customer is not complaining. And I drive the smaller i4 M50. The Neue Klasse cars will be much more efficient overall but these cars are also very good and functional EVs.
