Sorry for the break, final semester stuff. If you have recommendations for games I should look at give me a comment :) I'm currently looking at Crysis 1 Remastered, Forza Horizon 5, Maneater and Hellblade. I found the implementation of RT reflections in this game not that interesting. The fixed camera perspective means that screen space reflections do a decent job, there are rarely objects off-screen that should be reflected. Also, the RT renderer seems to see cloth materials as static, like the scene at 0:37. Still, Little Nightmares 2 is a good game, highly recommended.
1:08 very strange instance of ray-tracing off having a reflection whereas ray-tracing on has none. It seems as though the scene with ray-tracing off is bugged, the floor doesn’t seem reflective at all outside of those lights glowing on the floor.
I like how ray tracing not only makes the supposedly sharp reflections a lot more detailed and eliminates all the SSR artifacts but it also makes the more rough surfaces have rough (so blurry basically) reflections like in irl instead of sharp ones.
whats the difference between the quality settings for RT because sure i can tell on or off but whats the impact between low and ultra and whats the visual loss/gains
I have a question for you: most of the games you have on this channel, are these rendering engines remade as mods? Or are the devs actually updating some of these games to support rtx? I’m not too familiar with some of the remastered games you have uploaded but if the majority of these are community mods that is amazing.
Most of these games have ray tracing implemented by default. So it is the devs implementing these graphics features :) The only one that is a community made mod is the serious sam video
Game got so good at mimicking ray tracing. Still though I’d like to see games really use the fully power that now available to them with PS5. Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is an amazing game that tells you just what ray tracing it capable of. Little Nightmares doesn’t show off what PS5 can do.
SSR has some serious downsides, everything which is not in vision of the players screens is not reflected, or if something interrupts the vision of an object that's needs to be reflected it causes the whole reflection to disappear.
@@Pyke64 Really want to do Maneater, but I can't find the ray tracing options in settings on the xbox game pass version. No clue if its different to the steam one :(
@@RayTracingRevolution Steam/PC has no raytracing (yet) but there was an option on PS5 I believe. I think it was called performance/fidelity. A switch like that.
In some scenes more subtle, but you can definitely tell the environment feels more "grounded"

Bro, the lightning without RT is so well done that, when RT is enabled, the only thing that changes is the reflections O.O
I understand that this is indie game, but damn, this is the most optimized rtx game I've ever played

it's usually the RT resolution, how many light rays are being simulated per pixel.

How to switch ON and Off Ray tracing
you need to launch the game from steam library and not from desktop
