0:30. Southend, south. Retaining wall. Formwork placed to close off the last opening through the south wall.
1:08. Southend, east diagonal corner. Not a lot of steel staged here. Some for this side is currently stacked on the west side. Tight for space I guess.
Level 2. Smaller glazed units on the rack are likely the glazed parapet samples. Same width as the units installed, right height to infill as a parapet.
1:31. BIW. Apron. Bottom left. Roll-up door on the former EOL ramp. Don’t recall seeing a door fitted here.
2:04. Parking Garage. 19 risers/steps on the stair-flight. More than I would have expected. Any locals know what the maximum is?
3:38. Southend. Inside. Level 1. Left of centre. Formwork shuttering around the edge of the mud slab. A small square set-down, under the floor opening above. Same in the central mud slab to the right.
4:11. Southend, west. Right. Crane exit route currently blocked by a stack of what is likely the first steel to be installed.
Columns in those stacks have connector plates for intermediate floor beams.
Beams with connector plates for bracing also visible. The first braced columns in this new structure.
6:12. New EOL site. Southend. Trenching works. Electrical likely, aiming for the vaults to the left.
6:19. Westside. Tunnel Project. 2 additional back-up decks delivered. Att. David Salisbury.
6:44. Westside. Tunnel Project. Conveyor belt lengths being run through the magazine/cassette.
Spoils pit has a reinforcement band fitted around the outside.
7:12. New EOL, west. Apron. Concrete and plastic road barriers placed.
7:49. Westside, storage. Top right. Large white tank.
9:08. BESS switchyard. Knife switches controlling the cabling from the Megapacks are closed. Megapacks ‘may’ be connected to the grid.
Knife switches (east side of yard) controlling the cables to the Mega-Vaults at the new switchyard/substation are open. Better views at 9:04 left, and 9:55 right. Megapacks are not connected to the factory.
    10:37. New switchyard/substation. Mega-Vaults. Fence near complete.
10:42. Temporary switchyard. Control buildings. Air-con units removed.
12:05. Casting east. Apron. Screw/auger piles drilled down through the pilot holes.
Piles are over-length. Reached good founding at a shallower depth than expected perhaps.
Layout of the screw piles not suggestive of a building. No grouped piles for column footings.
Bottom right. 2 silver blocks are ‘sows’ of waste aluminum/aluminium.
Furnace tender vehicle shifted out of sight.
12:10. Casting east. Apron. Left. Paving complete.
12:46. Die Shop, west. Top left. Asphalt works.
East contractors yard. Top right. Large area cleared out. Electrical contractor was in that area. Moved south.
13:04. Crash Test Track. Dunking bath. Apron appears to have had a surface coating.
13:54. Cathode west. Tank farm. Widened containment wall rebar in place. Tank bases/plinths concrete placed.
13:49. Cathode west. Apron. Suction excavation.

6:12 Agree that the trench is for electrical. Not sure if it will go all the way to thee vaults though. There is a tight 90 degree turn. Haven't seen them make such tight bends in conduit for the 24.9 kV cables. But we will have to wait and see.

7:50 Hey Dessie.... Am I missing something or has all of the big "tanks" people were thinking were being staged for the new southern addition missing from the TKS area of the storage yard?

@@eclecticmemes 7:50. Might be me missing something. I now see that tank was there in Brad's previous video.
A lot of the TKS stuff is gone in this video.
There have been tanks coming and going from this area for a while. Huge pair of tanks on low-loaders in Joe's 12 Feb video quickly disappeared. Where do you hide something that big! th-cam.com/video/6XSllWGVwrc/w-d-xo.html

6:20, 2 additional back-up decks arrived. These will be for the utility and ventilation extension. These may not have been required for the short set-up launch so have only just arrived. No sign of the cross discharge short conveyor and hopper but I assume it is on site somewhere. This needs to be installed before they start. Spoil bin has bands on to stop the walls falling over under full load, also tie straps between blocks on the inside. As it walled on all sides they must be assuming a very wet spoil coming off the bely which will have to be removed by grab.

    • @DessieDoolan
      @DessieDoolan หลายเดือนก่อน

6:20. I was hoping you would chime in! Still some days away from launch? A week maybe?
The spoils bin has been a progression. Concrete legos. Then a erosion sock pushed into the corners. Sock went, and the joints were filled with foam-o-fill. Now the strengthening bands.
I would have thought there would be some sort of modular pit system. Similar to formwork shuttering.
I guess a circular tank would have been a good starting point.

What is the fascination all drone operators have with the batteries and power station, more time spent there tan any other part of the site, and nothing happening day to day. Yes the temp one having a quick flyover when something changes but damn the battery supply has been the highlight of Joe's videos and brads videos for months since it was activated then batteries disconnected then reconnected multiple times, it really is not interesting. Now the main road through the site on the west I saw being paved in the distance in one of Joe's videos a week ago, now seeing that would be interesting. But yeah no!

Thanks for filming the megapacks! These can save money in the long run by optimizing energy usage, reducing peak demand charges, and providing backup power during high-cost periods. Sadly, Giga Berlin doesnt have them and is shut down for a week. Very costly and can actually move the needle on earnings!

@@DaGoat97 About 7 miles north of the Gigafactory there is a 100MW Megapack by a different company. The way they make money is they collect and store energy when the rates are low and sell it back when rates are higher. Also they supply power in a fraction of a second when there is a power spike. This keeps the load from overwhelming the grid. I am sure that Tesla will be making money off of these megapacks too.

    EOL Superchargers:
@ 5:44 Not operational yet, in the sense that they are not charging vehicles coming off the production line. Cars are still being charged at the east parking lot Superchargers. Seen @ 2:41 Speculating that they may become operational in the next couple of days. Also speculating that the east parking lot Superchargers will be shut down at the same time so they can be reconnected to power from the factory.
    Megapacks:
@ 8:46 to 9:02 Yard is empty of vehicles and work crews, gates are closed.
    Bess substation:
@ 9:06 and @ 9:37 It appears that all 24 switches to the megapacks are closed.
Megapacks may be "operational" to provide grid stabilization. That is, if ALL of the associated circuit breakers are also closed. They are likely NOT operational for providing backup power to the factory. Since the 6 switches on the eastside of the steel structure were open yesterday.
    Tesla Enclosure/Mega-vault:
    @ 10:37 Now fenced in.
    Temporary substation:
@ 10:48 Transformer striped of its oil coolers and other equipment.
    Eastside of casting:
@ 12:06 Some of the screw piles inserted into the pilot holes.

IV been toying with this in my head but it's the shear number of employees Elon has to deal with, and considering it's his land, couldn't Elon use FSD to self park the cars to the car parks??? Otherwise I'd imagine they drive them over there and then hopefully they are all there at once for a bus to then take them back to the giga factory lol 😂😂😂 just saying. 🤨🧐
