Richard, your art is truly transcendent! Your deep connection with nature allows your creations to radiate a profound essence that goes beyond the physical realm. Your passion and God-given talent are palpable in every stroke of the pallet knife, as if the very essence of the natural world has been distilled onto the canvas or Belgian linen. Your masterpieces are not just representations of nature, but vessels for the spirit of the land itself. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world!
Air Air and paint Motions of a blade Imagery crisp and clean Reflection made Elements swirling Placement with care Bouncing living light In wide open air A board before the view Framed within a frame A world of interpretation Yet not the same An artist in the field His work of the day A dance with body and soul Nothing more to say ( Really enjoy your outdoor excursions, replete with campfire and the camping elements... )
👋With a palette knife in the hands of an experienced painter, each piece becomes a masterpiece. Thank you so much Richard, I love all of these paintings. They are magnificent!❤
Oh, how I loved watching this! If I could paint like any artist in the world, I would wish that I could paint like you!! Not just your painting technique but everything surrounding your plein air set up. The safe drying "Do it yourself" props you created, your campsite cooking, your drone footage, your overall personality. Your just an inspiration to so many and my very favorite artist.
Life as a plein air painter... It looks really hard work, having to get up in the morning to beautiful scenery, having to decide what to paint, get the boat out out and paddle down the river, then paint these fantastic paintings, go back, light a fire, cook, . Mate it actually sounds like heaven. Great video, thanks for posting. All the best Bill NZ.
I really like your technique it's amazing. I'm not as good as you but I am learning from you . Creating colors and shadows were the belong. Thank you. God bless you
Another inspirational picture Richard. On a side note I went to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam today. Really loved it. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of people who look at these remarkable paintings through the screen on their phones. It's a hindrance to people like myself trying to look at the brush strokes and impasto because I'm getting in the way of their "shot". Ban photo taking at galleries I say.
Could you please give me some advice, I'm having a hard time painting a coffee mug using a palette knife. It's about the same size canvas as this beautiful painting you're showing here. Do you have a video I can watch that helps with still life and smaller scale? Thank you!

Hi! What kind of primer do you use for the canvas? or is it just a canvas glued with something?
Fantastic. Shame you can click on like thumb once only. Cheers Richard.
