  • This ingenious tool is your secret weapon for conquering the great outdoors and translating its beauty onto your canvas and ensures your paints stay fresh and vibrant.
    Focus on the joy of creation, not the limitations of the environment.
    So, pack your paints, embrace the fresh air, and unleash your inner artist with this revolutionary tool. The world is your canvas, and with this secret weapon by your side, you're ready to paint it!
    Also, I comment on the following beginner questions at the end of the video:
    * How do I use light and shadow?
    * How do I simplify the scene?
    * How do I compose the painting?
    * What is a limited palette?
    * How I achieve a personal style?
    Don't forget to leave a comment below and let me know what Plein Air questions you have!

    I haven't tried plein air painting yet but I really want to. This has been a good encouraging video to do so. I liked the "bag of skittles" analogy lol... I love the lighting you captured and I strive to hone in on your skill with painting cool and warm tones that make sense. Great painting... great video!

    I really enjoyed watching and listening to your video. I took note of your comments about avoiding too many details and I have found that to be so true. When I stopped including details I think my sketches improved. How you used an artist’s license to rearrange some of the elements of what you were looking at really made what could have been a hum-drum painting into a panting I really enjoyed looking at, then studying, then looking at again. Thank you for this.

      Glad it was helpful, Robert. Sometimes it is more of what you leave out than what you actually see. Our eyes are constantly simplifying, trimming, reducing the world around us in order to guide us to our desired target. Every time I see an old masters painting I wonder how much they left out to create a successful piece. I appreciate your comment.

    You have a Michelangelo God creating Adam reference in the trees [the fingers almost touching] did you do that consciously?As I did a similar thing using trees in a composition. By the way your idea to change the colour of the roof should improve it. Thank for this video.

      That’s correct, you are the first person to notice it 👍 sometimes I do that on paintings

    It's nothing new - centuries old technique sometimes known as a 'Claude Glass' after Claude Lorrain.

    Black is A hard color to use while pliening. Not forgiving. Why not use blue and then come back with black?

    • @ARTDETAILS
      @ARTDETAILS  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes you are right. Lamp, ivory or mars black can be intolerant and sometimes right down vindictive. I use it sparingly and mostly to create shades of gray. I do prefer any version of chromatic black and add purples or blues.
