great paintings from both of you, really enjoyed the subject as this is the kind of scenery I attempt to paint, so a most instructive video many thanks .
One of the problems I have with my plein air work is trying to finish too much. I like what you said about trying to stop earlier than you usually feel comfortable with. I'm going to work on that. I also like Ariah's painting over a dark background and the challenges he faced. I'm going to have to try that too.
My favorite painting duo! Both paintings are amazing! I really like how Ariahs turned out using the dark wash! Such great style! Can't wait for the next one! Thanks guys!
I love the shallow water! I have never seen you paint this type of shallow water with the individual rocks. I didn’t think you were going to be able to pull it off, but you did! Really beautiful.
I was very curious as to how both of you would handle the shallow water and the foreground rocks. This is SO helpful, I will watch this one again. I struggle and get too fussy and ruin the shallow water and rocks. Both of these paintings are beautiful; so interesting with the two different approaches! Thanks so much!
A different type of water for your painting. I really took an interest in this scene as it is what I experience more often where I live…as opposed to ocean water. I love the ocean but don’t often get to experience it. The reflections and the rocks under the water as well as the rocks sitting on the shoreline are very difficult to paint in watercolor so it was really interesting to see how you handled them with oils. Beautiful results! Thank you for sharing.😊
You two are such beautiful artists. It’s so much fun watching the before and after vibe we get. The finished pieces never fail to amaze me. Just stunning work. Thanks for sharing. “Sharing is caring”.✨🙏🏻💕
Both paintings outstanding. Colours and composition beatiful. Learn so much by watching you. Was outside today painting as we have had three hot days in the UK. Dashed out after church and bagged a rural view. Thanks
I enjoyed watching the challenges you both put forth. Shallow water came out wonderful! Watching the paint go over a dark panel made me wonder about experimenting that way to really give my neural pathways a jolt! I’ve noticed the group of Canadian Plein air artists Men who Paint, do that often. Thank you both for taking us with you!
Michael, for as long as I’ve followed your channel I’ve seen some changes , quite a few. And I must confess I didn’t always appreciate it. Now I see more and more what your creating, and it’s beautiful. 🌴Still here in Florida 🥵🌴
A pleasure, as always, to watch you paint ...I always learn something new and relearn better what I need to know. Shapes, values.. Those reflections and transparent water has always been really tough for me. I am going to watch this a few more ( hundred) times. 😅 Both of you wielding the brushes like art warriors. This is one of my favorite things about Sundays..always can't wait to see what your taking in next. Thank-you both for sharing your talents and knowledge. It is much appreciated!!! One question, did you use a different brand of Burnt Sienna? It looked more orangey to me than your usual? Or was it the lighting?
Thanks, it amazes me how different each one of the same color can look depending on different factors. Also, just wanted to tell you thanks for not making your channel about marketing!!! It's a rare beautiful gift you give. May you be well compensated in whatever way you are blessed by.
@@chamberlainpaintings Right on🌊Maybe time to get your camp on, haha. Staying in tents are always great so long as you've got a home to go to when you're all done😂
great day! thanks for including me
Your painting was also beautiful, Ariah!
Yes it was! Looking forward to next time!

Amazing paintings, it really helps having the artists narrate their thought process.

WOWZA! I am so in love with the shallow water effect! Such beautiful greens and blues there! Amazing work!
Good morning Michael, love the reflections! Ariah’s looked pretty cool too.
Good morning Miriam. Thanks!
Fabulous is what I think. I love your work, and really enjoy watching you create your paintings.
The shallow water looks great. Love the new subject matter. Looking great!

Great painting.
Great Michael👌. very challenging subject today. Ariah is really producing some beautiful work lately...more than usual that is!

I wasn’t sure at the beginning but the result is very nice. It’s not how you start but how you finish!
Fantastic i love the way you quickly sketch or draw in the shapes. Beautiful mountains 🤩🎉
This is a great painting, very successful, such a difficult subject but you got it ! Thank you for sharing this video, looking forward to the next
Great work - so interesting and inspiring seeing your different approaches
A really nice one!

Beautiful paintings, guys!!!
Thanks Kay!
@@chamberlainpaintings You're welcome, Michael! Love watching you paint. XO
Two good paintings there. 👍
Well done guys.
Awesome subject, I hope it repeats.
Lovely ❤!! What about coming in Marseille France to paint the calanques with my friend and myself!!
Both very nice,again
looks nice, leave the sky in the corner IMHO
beautiful video and painting! do you have any video that explain mixing colors? thanks!
Thanks! I don't have any videos specifically explaining color mixing but I do try to share my mixes during the painting process whenever possible. 🙂
I like this direction a lot. It unlocks something?
Love! 😊
Very nice.

Thanks! I think I was using Winsor & Newton burnt sienna. The other I use is Utrecht. Both appear the same to me! Pigment code PR101

Good morning Michael
Good morning Mark!
👍
0:25 do you have humming birds there (flew through your rig just behind the canvas , first portion of the 25th second, just sayin)
Yes we do!
No doubt in my mind that you've built plenty of fires and set foot inside your share of tents if ya know what i mean ☺️🎶 (Outdoor type) haha
I have, but it's been a while 😂 I'm getting my outdoor fix in the ocean these days. Camping at the beach would be nice!

Excellent paintings by both of you!
