I knew the video was impressive but after watching the behind the scenes videos I can honesty say that the gravity of the impressiveness has doubled ... but really, amazing work!
Okay but the cuts. They're so fucking seamless. How? I caught the only when the yellow suitcase moved into the foreground, but otherwise the video looks like it's one continuous shot.
I am wondering the same thing. Curious to know how that worked. That's the only one part that confuses me right now. It'd be hard to cut/stitch frames on the parts where they had a ton of balls rolling around. Unless they just fast forwarded those idle parts which I couldn't tell.
+spaceye The only one I missed is the Damian solo, which is two segments, and I didn't see the cut in the middle. (which is obvious now, he's standing, holding on to the two seatbacks). The reason the balls look right is because at the end of each scene, the balls are already on the ground. They just stay in their place.

I wonder why the video crew rejected the medication? I’d be afraid I’d vomit and ruin the scenes or I’d get floating barf on the equipment. How could you do your job while holding a bag to your face? I don’t think anyone ate much ahead of time at any rate. That was some super dedication in pursuit of a creative vision. Bravo!!!
Their music is pretty good, but even if you don't care for it, you can't deny the skill and talent to do all of this! From the band to the crew, absolutely amazing! Very well done!! 21st century 'Peter Gabriel'-level video achievement!

This is incredible. I thought they had sped up the footage just to get rid of the loose, drifty effect, but it seems like it was initially for the pacing of the song. All of this is really fascinating.
I didn't even realize it was cut. Masterful editing. I just watched it a second and third time and still had a pretty tough time finding the cuts. It really is a 10/10 editing and choreography job.

That makes sense! I was wondering how they got so much weightless time and yet only a second or two every once in awhile with obvious gravity. It made no sense knowing the sine-wave-like path the Vomit Comets take.

What's crazy about the music video is that they made it seem like they were in control of turning gravity on and off they had the choreography so under control.
Just watched the actual video last night, and it was amazing. I had a ton of questions, and this video satisfied all of them. Amazing work, and dedication to everyone that made this work. Must have been a logistical, and safety nightmare, in planning, training, choreography, placement...and the beautiful chaos, that just worked out!

Above and beyond all of the positive comments, the way the band and the producer explained it all was as good as, if not better than, astronauts explaining zero g conditions in the International Space Station. Top notch all the way around!

This is just great filmmaking, the way the action builds from order to chaos, then resolve back to order. It reminds me in a weird way of the “Pink Elephants on Parade” segment from “Dumbo”, but that you did it all in camera is just remarkable.
I've said this once and I'll say it again: Ok Go would be the perfect band for an awesome Superbowl Halftime show.
