This is truly the greatest advertisement I've ever seen. Saw this in a youtube ad back in 2016 and I cant stop coming back to it all these years later. Everything about it from the quality song to the impeccable production of the music video, and how they put it together just blows me away. OK Go never fails to make the best, most creative music videos of our time. Morton Salt made the right decision by making this all possible, cause it's one hell of an advertisement and I definitely won't forget who sponsored it. Props all around.
MANINIMO honestly, that’s part of the beautiful thing about OK GO. A lot of their songs have some pretty innovative music videos to pair with the music, usually made possible through different companies, and communities. The One Moment, along with White Knuckles, This Too Shall Pass (the rube goldberg version), Obsession, All is Not Lost, and Here It Goes Again, the one that started it all, are probably the most memorable of their music videos.
Idk, it's a pretty good ad, but the best advertisement of all time still has to be the Sainsbury's 1914 Christmas Truce ad

This is exactly how I found OK Go: A Morton salt commercial on TH-cam that suddenly captivated me to the point that I didn't even remember I was trying to watch

Well the first shot was clearly sped up and longer than 4.2 seconds. And when they used that first shot they adjusted the speed throughout to fit the song as they needed to. Did you not notice things would go faster and slower at times?

Behind the Scenes explains it. To put it shortly, it took a hell a huge spread sheet made by the lead singer making each frame perfect (remember shot in 2000-3500 fps) It got so complicated they had to make a whole new rig that's been rarely used. It isn't exactly one take since no technology can do this but most of the scenes where stuff is breaking was recorded very fast.
This makes dancing on treadmills look like a joke.

I first saw this in my school's gifted program, with one of my favorite teachers of all time. It completely blew my mind back then, and I still love it now. Sadly, though, a few years after I left that school, the teacher lost their fight with breast cancer, and passed away. I miss her dearly. But, the funny thing is, one of the only things I remember from that class is this video, which is literally about savoring every moment. I didn't realize it at the time, but it really was that one moment that mattered, at all.

This hit me in the feels pretty hard as I am a third grade and gifted program teacher myself and use Ok Go videos for entire units of study with my students. It brings tears to my eyes and warms my heart knowing that students like you are out there. Please continue to savor every moment, even the tricky and unpleasant ones because sometimes they can teach us the most.

I heard the music. Still think the video is extremely impressive. I like some of their music for easy listening but I'd hardly dismiss their music videos as simple "gimmicks."
But their music is good.. I can remember and sang most of their video musics only by hearing it for 1-2 times.. And upside down and inside out still lingers in my ears only by someone saying it..
Maybe people simply dislike the song? Like, it isn't their cup of tea, or whatever. I think it's an okay song myself - it neither repulsed me, nor rocks my world.

I am a kindergarten teacher, my kids LOVE your songs and videos. They walk around singing your songs all the time. They understand the concept of zero-gravity because of you, and a couple of the more curious ones even know what entropy means, because we did a little demo to explain it. You are doing so much more than you can ever know.
And you also bring me near to tears with your music. Sometimes with sadness, sometimes with joy.
Merry Christmas to one of the greatest bands ever.

Doesn't anyone think that the 4.2 sec segment is sped up? Look at the water in the balloons, all happens too fast, compared to how this would look in real life. I don't believe the 4.2s story.

I woke up this morning with the chorus to this song just running through my head over and over again. This song and music video has always been moving to me, but today even more so than usual: today is the 18th anniversary of the day that we took my mother off of a ventilator in the ICU three days after a horrific car accident (in which my sister was involved but unharmed-thank the Lord- and which I witnessed.) May 30, 2003 is the day she passed; it was and is a day of strange emotions for me and I don't know why, but I've been listening to this song and just letting the tears flow while doing things around the house.
I also have two small daughters who I see growing and changing daily before my eyes. And my desire to stop time and just have things stay frozen in a moment is quite a real and relatable feeling when I hear this song. I just want a beautiful moment with them to stretch out forever but I know that this won't happen and that "all of this will end."
Not to get too depressing, but just wanted/needed to share my thoughts. If you have loved ones, go, spend time with them and make beautiful moments with them that matter.
Ok Go is the one band that isn’t known for their music but rather their music videos. And that’s for a good reason. They kick ass. This isn’t my style of music, but I keep coming back to watch these works of art, and I always go away with their songs stuck in my head

Whoever edited this must've had their work cut out for them, because if you look *very* closely, you can see how some of the clips speed up and then slow back down to keep the time between the segments/scenes. I know I'd never be able to do this nearly as well as it was done, but I can see and somewhat know how it's all done.

Anthony Smith they make videos of the behind the senses. They did a lot of small scale for this one before going for the big shot. Many weeks of math and small scale. I recommend checking out the behind the scenes, they are often as cool as the videos themselves

they could subtly change the speed of the video to sync everything up without anybody noticing due to it being filmed at such a high frame rate.
Derek Collins if you go to their channel, they have a video explaining the complex mathematics, pyrotechnics and programming that went behind it. The lead singer said it took him a month to grind through the calculations
Bollog Nyessy they do do this for certain sections, but it's pretty on point for the most part. You definitely can't say this was "easily" done and does deserve massive respect.
Somehow these guys consistently capture the essence of Being and set it all to a catchy tune. I just don't even know and God bless their hearts. The world's a better place for OK Go. Pretty damn sure of that.
