  • I bought the Fuji X-T1 mirrorless camera in 2020 and in this video I am going to tell you why. Photography has always been a passion of mine especially when film was still being used in everyone's camera. Though I was a child I still remember my first film camera and how I couldn't wait to see what my photographs looked like when I got them back from the developer. I hope you learned some important info from this video. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

    The X-trans1 and X-trans2 sensors are amazing. It didn’t get any better after that. I don’t think there’s any other sensor out there that gives you the same unique film-like look. This is why these older Fujifilm cameras are so popular. Prices are still going up.

    I shoot weddings with XT1 and XT10 for years. I can't see why we cant shoot good photos in 2023. Yes, there might be improvements in technology here and there but the subjects never change...

    • @Kris_World
      @Kris_World  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @glennbmendoza I agree with you, I would say it all comes down to knowing how to use a camera and having a style. A photographer also must learn composition and know what they are doing. Sure you can buy the newest and high tech when it comes to a camera but if you don't know how to use the camera then your photos are going to be like snapshots. The X-T1 and X-T10 are both great cameras and if you know how to use them properly will give you some of the best photos one can take. I have been taught its not the gear that gets that one great shot, its the person behind the viewfinder. The camera is an extension of the photographer, its not the other way around. Thank you for watching!

    A good photo is taken by the photographer... and not the camera... the X-T1 is more than enough. A good meal is made by the cook and not the pan! But how we allow ourselves to be manipulated by the industry!

      @rolandgasser6711 You are so right! I completely agree. The XT-1 is more than enough. The industry just needs to create something for the competitor these days, and not so much for the photographer. Yes they are fantastic at what they do but the old cameras are still very capable. I feel that all the new technology takes the fun out of photography and working for your images makes it all that much more worth while because its rewarding when you see the story that you captured because of your skills. Great video! You should "upgrade" to the X-T2...I'm just kidding. I own an X-T2 and an X-E2 (which has the same great 16mp sensor as the X-T1). I love the X-T2 but recently convinced myself that I wanted to step up to a camera with IBIS (I blame TH-cam...) I nearly got an X-H1, but I knew that the extra size and weight would deter me from using the camera as much, so I instead snapped up a used X-S10. I immediately found that I hated not having the analog dials (especially the MCS focus switch) and really missed the X-T2's flip screen. Otherwise, it's a great little camera, very comfortable to hold. Now I'm selling the X-S10, keeping the X-T2, and eventually I might get an X-T5, but not for a few of years. The X-T2 does everything I need it to and I haven't pushed it to its limit yet. Sure, IBIS would be nice, but for now I'll be practicing some steady shooting and perhaps rethink my relationship with my tripod. Overall, I l really love the Fujifilm X system and I think that many of these cameras will be considered "modern classics" in due time.

      @kaid3566 Hi I am so happy you enjoyed the video! You make me want to try the Fuji X-t2! Eventually maybe I can add it to the list of cameras I own. Unfortunately the pocket book doesn't like that idea yet. I love the flip screen because I don't have to physically lay on the ground to get a shot or get on my knees to take a picture if I don't want to. It just makes taking a picture all that much easier. IBIS would be really nice to have, so you could pop any lens you want on the camera. I know my tripod and I have a love/hate relationship. It is an extra step to getting the shot I want but I do feel rewarded after using it. Yes I agree I do think they will be considered to be modern classics in due time. Thank you for watching my video. I really appreciate the feedback. Hope all is well!

    My first Fuji, also my first inter changeable digital lens camera , was the xs10 just over one year ago. It's fine, light OIS etc. However I decided I would also like a Fuji with dials so having researched the matter I settled on the xh1, a wonderfall camera with two dials, OIS and WR. Great camera but not light and doesn't have the exposure compensation dial. So, a couple of weeks ago having done more research I settled on xt1 for £238 in excellent condition. OK no OIS but my lenses mainly have OIS and only 16MP but since having it, this is the camera, if I only take one, that I have used (although to be fair I generally take two so I don't have to change lenses). I love having the three dials along the top so one can see at a glance what the settings are and I like the little focus dial on the front. Obviously I also love the output. I certainly wouldn't put anyone off buying this camera particularly as it's so cheap. I don't think I will use it with a non stabilised lens though, maybe too difficult. A few morning ago I knew there was a heron on the lake I was going to, I set a fairly fast shutter, switched the dial to continuous focus and to the fastest frames per second. The heron took off and caught me by surprise so I just pointed the camera in the general direction and followed its flight and took 8 pics of it in flight (using Fuji 18-55 OIS lens). Every shot came out in focus, I really couldn't believe it.

    Hello. Want your opinion on this. Planning to buy a Fujifilm mirrorless cam to upgrade from using simple point and shoot or iphone but not ready to do super professional photography. I also love how the film sims.
    My two choices are XT1 for the low end (I can buy it cash for used ones) and XT30 ii (can do card installments). Is it worth it to buy XT30 or should I just try XT1 then upgrade soon? Thank you!

    • @Kris_World
      @Kris_World  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jenythingunderthesun Hi! Thank you for your question, I really appreciate ti! Well lets see there are important things to think about when you are looking at both of these cameras. The X-T1 is only 16 megapixel where the X-t30II has 26 so that can be a key factor to look at when looking at these cameras. The 16 mp sensor though in my opinion is plenty, not to mention the sensor that Fuji put inside of the X-T1 is the same sensor that they put in the x100s and has been a well known camera all over the world for what it can do for such a compact size. The X-T1 also is weather resistant where the X-T30II is not. Are you going to mostly use these cameras for photography or use the video features as well? That can be a deal breaker for you. The X-T30II has the ability to shoot 4k while the X-T1 can only film in 1080p. The X-T! I feel would be the best option though with you just getting into the Fuji system. Both cameras transfer photos to your smartphone which is really nice, but the X-T30II will probably have upgraded tech to make it perform faster. The X-T1 can take such beautiful photos and many have compared the quality to some of Cannon's top tier cameras like the 5D Mark II. So I would really look at the features and see what you like. If it was me I would buy the X-T1, get a feel for the Fuji system and really learn the camera from top to bottom and use it until you feel like you need more. I hope this info helps you. Thank you for watching!

      Sorry this is late. They are both good cameras. Choosing between the Fujifilm X-T1 and the Nikon D610 for shooting JPEGs really depends on your specific preferences.
      Fujifilm X-T1
      1. Image Quality: The X-T1, is known for their excellent JPEG rendering, film simulations, and color science. It produces vibrant and pleasing out-of-camera JPEGs.
      2. Compact Size: The X-T1 is more compact and lighter compared to a full-frame DSLR like the D610.
      3. Film Simulations: Fujifilm is known for its film simulations, which mimic the look of classic film stocks. If you enjoy experimenting with different looks the X-T1 might be a better choice.
      Nikon D610:
      1. The D610 has a full-frame sensor, which gives you better low-light performance compared to the X-T1's APS-C sensor.
      2. Lens Compatibility: You would be using Nikon's F-mount system which has a wide range of lenses, some for which are really cheap and of good quality which could be big advantage. Fuji lenses can be expensive.
      3. Optical Viewfinder: Some photographers prefer the optical viewfinder of a DSLR over an electronic viewfinder. This might be something to think about.
      If you're primarily shooting JPEGs and considering factors like color rendering, film simulations, and portability, then I would go with the X-T1 However, if you prioritize a full-frame sensor and optical viewfinder, the D610 could be the better choice.
      I would thoroughly research sample images and reviews to see which camera aligns better with your shooting style and preferences. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I hope all is well!

    i m currently deciding between the xt1 and the xt20. wich one would you recommend? one of the deciding factors aswell is me wearing glasses and i heard the viewfinder of the xt1 is much better for that while on the xt20 you cant really see it fully. also i really like all those dials

    • @Kris_World
      @Kris_World  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @MuTSoftLight Hi, well lets see. The Fuji X-t1 has a 16.3 megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS II Sensor, and the Fuji X-T20 has a 24.3 APS-C X-Trans CMOS III Sensor, so the technology on the X-T20 is newer. I unfortunately don't own the X-T20 but from what I have read and seen the XT-20s viewfinder is much smaller and most users use the back screen to shoot photos. The viewfinder is very bright and I love using it while taking a picture especially because any changes you make on the camera are live and what you see in your viewfinder is what you get for your photo. The overall experience of having this camera has been such a fun experience especially because of the camera having the retro feel. The XT-20 defiantly has more settings and features especially because it has more AF points to use for facial detection and tracking a subject. It has the ability to shoot video in 4K at 30fps but even with all that I have heard people love the way the X-T1 processes color with its 16 megapixel sensor. It's the same sensor that is in the X100s which was one of Fuji's most popular cameras and still is till this day because of its image quality and retro feel. So if you are looking for more features and settings and a faster camera, go with the X-T20 it also comes with a pop up flash. It takes fantastic pictures. But if you are looking to save some money and still want some amazing image quality that can tell a story then get this camera. But make sure you get one either way that has been taken care of. I heard the rubber likes to start peeling on the X-T1 after heavy use. I hope this helps, and thank you for watching my video. Also I wear glasses too and the larger viewfinder is so nice to have on this camera compared to my Nikon. Just order the large eye cup for the camera on Amazon so it blocks the light from coming in. It helps a ton.

      @@Kris_World my old nikon was such a pain with glasses... it ruined the entire shooting experience for me. You take 1 picture and instantly have to clean your glasses somehow or take it off but they you wont see anything in the optical viewfinder

      @MuTSoftLight I wear glasses too, so I defiantly know what you mean. The viewfinder rubber can smear your glasses. I know they sell larger viewfinder eye cups so that can help, but I tried viewing the viewfinder without my glasses and it worked for me. Try this and see if it works. You might need to adjust the diopter but for me, I could see everything I was trying to take a picture of. Hope this helps.

      @Enzo Gelito Hi Enzo. So unfortunately I do not own the X-T20 but I have looked it up and from looking at images it produces and the specs of the camera It looks like, I think it would be a great camera to do all the things you listed. So having seen this info and the images, I personally wouldn't sell it. Although since I do not own that camera I honestly don't know how it performs and wouldn't want to lead you in the wrong direction. The X-T1 is a fantastic camera though and will defiantly produce some spectacular photographs, but what I would do is save some money and buy the X-T1 as your extra camera to use while on a shoot. That way its easy to have two different lenses available at one time, without having to swap lenses so you don't miss a moment. That's what I would do. Build your bag of gear to bring, with two of your best lenses and both of theses cameras. The X-T1 may be a little slower compared to the X-T20 but it will give you what you are looking for. Hope this helps. Hope all is well.

    • @Kris_World
      @Kris_World  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @jhepoyzkimorales3863 Hi! Well there are many differences between both cameras. The X-T100 has a built in flash, a touch screen, 4k video recording and is a 24mp sensor. The Fuji X-T1 has a 16mp sensor and can shoot up to 8FPS continuous while the X-T100 can only shoot 6FPS continuous photographs. Of course you have the digital shutter built in so that can also make a huge difference as well. The X-T1 is also weather sealed and the X-T100 is not. So if you like to take photos in a moist climates I don't recommend the X-T100. The X-T1 has a larger view size when viewing live view compared to the X-T100. So if you like to use Live view when taking pictures then the X-T1 is better for that. Now the X-T100 does have some newer technology packed into it but it is also is lacking in some departments that count. So keep that in mind. As far as image quality goes they are both fantastic at producing some stunning images, so you can't go wrong there. Especially if you want to use Fuji's film emulations. They can both give you some really cool photos. The downfall with the X-T1 is that the battery life and will last 100 photos less then the X-T100. But if it was me I would still choose the X-T1 camera. I feel that the 16mp x-trans sensor in the X-T1 can take on the X-T100 any day. Its pictures are so sharp and it renders colors so beautifully. But take the info I give you and think about what you would be using the camera for. If its for sports, portraits, nature photography, what ever photography you want to use it for, weight the pros and cons. I would say the newer X-t100 probably has a better focusing system the the X-T1. The X-T1 isn't bad but it's older, but it does still have quite a bit of functionality for its age. The price is better too. Hope this helps.

      @j co Hi, well that is a very good question. But you have to also ask yourself, do I want to invest into the Nikon F mount lens system or the Fuji X mount lens system. Now from experience of owning both I can tell you that since Fuji has the newer X mount mirrorless lens system you are going to pay a bit more then you would buying into the Nikon F mount lens system. With Nikon you can use older Film lenses that were used on vintage SLRs all the way to nice new lenses that have the nice new VR feature. That is the glory of Nikon, but Fuji lenses are tac sharp and are very nice to use. Now I do not own the Nikon D7100, I own the Nikon D7000 and it is truly an amazing camera. The Nikon D7100 does have a 24.1 Mega-Pixel sensor while the Fuji X-T1 has a 16 Mega-Pixel Sensor. But seriously the Fuji is so good you won't be able to truly see the difference unless you do some intense pixel peeping. I love my Fuji for different reasons because it has in my opinion an artistic feel when shooting, but I love my Nikon because it takes photos and I feel I have to work harder to get a photograph. Sometimes the Fuji makes it too easy to take a picture because it just take pictures. I love both for different reasons. The Nikon has so many lenses to choose from and if you are a beginner or just getting into Digital SLR photography I would start there. Once you feel like you know your camera and how to work the Nikon menu system and how to work your camera to take photos, I would then buy a FUJI. I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions, please let me know. Take care!
