    I've been doing this for years and I had no clue that it was called "slugging" and I wish I could unlearn it lol. Btw I'm reading some of the comments and for people who are acne prone 100% petroleum jelly will NOT clog your pores. If you still get clogged pores after applying petroleum to your face it means you either didn't clean your face well enough or you didn't clean your hands well enough. The same can go for any lotion or face cream you have to dip your fingers into. You need to clean your hands VERY well and use a file or brush to get all the dirt out from under your nails before touching your face otherwise you contaminate the entire jar of moisturizer.

      It might not be “comedogenic” but everyone’s skin is different. It most definitely clogs my pores. I have very small pores & even using creams w petroleum my skin gets clogged. And I hate it bc I love Vaseline.. I can use it all over but not my face.
      Using cleansers made w it in there tho, my skin loves.

    • @Miss_Kisa94
      @Miss_Kisa94 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@Jezebel066 like I said before it's probably because you don't properly clean and exfoliate your skin or maybe you don't clean your hand well enough before applying it. If you have small pores that means it's harder to clean and stuff gets buried deeper into your skin. That's why you can use cleaners with it but not creams. I'd recommend the korean 7 step facial care routine.

    As a person with acne-prone, sensitive, and oily skin, I’ve learn not to use it for my face but Vaseline is great for dry lips, I use Vaseline before I go to bed and I wake up with a moisturized lip, and overall Vaseline can be used for healing like cuts or damaged areas on your body

    Slugging especially with products like Hyaluronic acid made my skin so plump and hydrated the next day. But I don't slug everyday because I'm scared that my skin could get CC's 🤧 I apply my Moisturizer wait till it sinks in and then use a pea size amount and rub it in my palms and then apply it.

    i have questions:
    i'm currently suffering from acne all over my face, would slugging somehow worsen it?
    can i use a moisturizer with a humectant in it instead of a serum?
    how would applying a humectant before the "slugging" pull moisture if the vaseline acts like a barrier that doesn't let anything in or out? does it pull moisture from the environment before you apply the vaseline and therefore the vaseline locks that moisture in?

    One humid day (40°C) I washed my face at least 10 times (ik stupid) it stripped my skin layers so much that my skin started itching and got red so I used ✨VASELINE ✨ and it helped with itching instantly also calmed my red skin :)

    Can I use vaseline after applying the Paulas Choice BHA? Or do I need to use other moisturizer?

    I tried it but I really couldn't stand the feeling of the vaseline and my skin ended up feeling irritated and uncomfortable from the thickness despite the thin layer I placed :(

      Not acne prone but I do get clogged pores from certain products & this is one of them. I also read it is non comedogenic. But everyone’s skin is different. Some swear that coconut oil won’t clog your pores if you use it as a first cleanser. But if it touches my face I get bumps.

    Is it safe for neck/décolleté thinking of the petroleum by product ?

  • @RevertedRashidah
    @RevertedRashidah 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    It’s not really bad for the environment considering that it’s a *byproduct* of oil refinement. And that’s not going to stop anytime soon, sadly. Basically they’re not drilling extra oil to make this.
