I always use sun cream but have to admit I didn’t use it a lot when I was younger😮😮. Have subscribed.👍👍💕💕🥰🥰🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thanks for your question. I’m happy to have you here part of the channel. I have several videos talking about hyperpigmentation and age spots. But to summarize, one can look for brightening ingredients, such as alpha arbutin and niacinamide which can be found on their own or in moisturizers, serums, or masks. A vitamin C serum in the morning has worked for many as well. Best of success to you! 😊
@@shadygardens2256Every dermatologist I’ve seen recommends Vaseline. There’s nothing wrong with it. That’s just a myth created by the “natural” skin care gurus trying to scare you I to using their expensive products.
@@shadygardens2256 Hello, I have found that Eucerin Aquaphor has worked well for my dry skin & visibly reduced the very deep “sunbeam lines” around my eyes in less than a week (I am 70). I use only a pea-sized amount warmed slightly & applied over my face (including eyelids) with clean fingertips. I see the doctor suggested Shea butter to someone as an alternative to Vaseline (elsewhere in the comments) but I had already been advised using something with Aquaphor is very beneficial so that is I am already using. i love doing the “slugging” technique by using Vaseline on my face as the last step in my skincare routine in the PM to seal in the moisture. It has done wonders for my dry sensitive skin! My only issue is in the morning I only wash my face with water and no cleansers as my skin is sensitive and dry, but I am worried that when I apply sunscreen in the morning it is not forming the proper layer of film it needs to form with my skin to provide that sun protection??? Due to the Vaseline being an occlusive and not letting the sunscreen inside?? So should I be washing my face with a proper cleanser in the morning to remove the Vaseline off my face before applying sunscreen in the morning??? Or do you think washing with water is enough and that sunscreen will be fine to apply on top of it?
Hey doc! If I have dry sensitive skin and usually avoid cleansing my face in the morning then do I need to cleanse my face in the morning after slugging the night before?

How do you “slug” in an arid climate. I live in the Mojave desert. It’s my understanding Hyaluronic acid and humectants pull moisture out of your skin because there is no moisture in the air.
I have very dry skin and live in the desert. My skin gets dried out from SPF physical and makeup. Is there a way I can slug underneath the SPF or make up to keep my skin from looking like the desert?
I know that dry, desert heat. Slugging is mostly meant for night but I’d think you could use more hydrating products during the day and use the SPF to lock it in. There are some great sunscreens, both mineral and chemical, that are very hydrating. Look for the same in your makeup.
Some of the products in your thumbnail have parabens in them. I've also seen another dermatologist recommend Cera Ve. Aren't parabens dangerous? And why are dermatologists recommending products that contain them?

Thanks for the question. It may be better to avoid it as it can occur more commonly with heavy products, especially around the eyelid or the eye area. A way to work around this if you must go with this approach is to avoid the slugging technique on the entire face.

I'm concerned about the Vasiline. It's petroleum based. Crude oil
There are many vaseline alternatives as well.

How do you “slug” in an arid climate. I live in the Mojave desert. It’s my understanding Hyaluronic acid and humectants pull moisture out of your skin because there is no moisture in the air.
It is not advisable to use retinol then vaseline?

I have very dry skin and live in the desert. My skin gets dried out from SPF physical and makeup.
Is there a way I can slug underneath the SPF or make up to keep my skin from looking like the desert?
I know that dry, desert heat. Slugging is mostly meant for night but I’d think you could use more hydrating products during the day and use the SPF to lock it in. There are some great sunscreens, both mineral and chemical, that are very hydrating. Look for the same in your makeup.
Thanks bro
Happy to help!
Thank you for this tutorial! 🩷 I was curious, can I get the same benefits, if I use coconut oil, in lieu of vaseline?
Coconut oil clogs pores.
@@TinyTC correct. However, if used under the eyes, it offers the same benefits as Vaseline. I alternate and have had great results
I have never had a problem with coconut oil. I have normal skin.
I use Elimis balm and face wash, then CeraVe moisture cream, retinol, CeraVe healing ointment
I’m going with hydrogen peroxide so clean
C60 I want locked in under Vaseline
This works for me
Tell me what to do about chronic urticaria
Some of the products in your thumbnail have parabens in them. I've also seen another dermatologist recommend Cera Ve. Aren't parabens dangerous? And why are dermatologists recommending products that contain them?
How often should I be slugging ?
Thank you for your question! A good regimen for addressing dry, cracked, or inflammatory skin, is starting out slugging 2-3 times per week.

I’m confused bc he said don’t use acids but before he said to use hylaronic acid so..
Hyaluronic acid is not a true acid :)
Doctor, if my own dermatologist has added filaggrin in my barrier cream, do I still need ceramides?
How often to slug? Nightly, weekly?
What about millia, is it OK or not
Thanks for the question. It may be better to avoid it as it can occur more commonly with heavy products, especially around the eyelid or the eye area. A way to work around this if you must go with this approach is to avoid the slugging technique on the entire face.
What do you think of Egyptian Magic as a slugging option?
Breaks me out badly
oily skin here
Petroleum is an oil byproduct. How is that good for us, I just don’t understand
can i slug after using azelaic acid then moisturizer then vaseline??
I'm confused.. at the end you said not to use any acids.. at the beginning you said to use hylarunic acid ??
Thanks for your question! What I meant is "true acids" like those that can increase skin cell turnover. Hyaluronic acid is not an exfoliator. I hope this helps!
After using a moisturizer do you pat a thin layer of vaseline onto your skin or do you rub the vaseline into your skin?
I do both and the results are the same. A thin layer is enough tho. I also do it during the day. My skin never looked so good!
4:03 all moisturizers have ceramides or they don't qualify as a moisturizer
I don’t want petroleum distillates on my skin, any other suggestions?
There’s another thread where he mentions shea butter, since it has low comedogenic risk. Oily, acne prone, even in my 40s here and I can second that.
I slug in the winter time when my skin is super dry.
It sure helps in the winter!
@@ArsalanAspires It really does. :)
I really believe that winter acne is largely due to dry skin.
@@Josh-fp2qn That could have been my case many years ago. I would get the worst cystic acne in the winter. Thankful for Acutane. I went on it in 2007 and have been clear since.
What about rough, dry bumpy arms..is there a video for this?
Maybe look up keratosis pilaris (KP), also known as chicken skin.
Grandma here kid from 60’s using Vaseline for years. Been told my skin appears younger watching from Pennsylvania John 3:16 Remember Jesus Christ is the reason for the season 🎄🎄🎄🎚🎚🎚🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱
Bro i did the donts by following the steps😂😂
😃
Is it necessary to cleanse before slugging because I already cleanse in the evening
Yes, this makes it optimal for layering in a consistent fashion.
Should i wash my face in the morning with a cleanser or just rinse with water after slugging?
Thanks for your question! If you use it midday, you can wash off with a couple of hours with cool water. If youre washing it off next day, then wash off with a gentle cleanser.

Can I use Vaseline alone
