This is probably the most accurate video I have seen yet. It is true that you don't have to upgrade oil pump gears and crank sprocket on the darkhorse. The rods probably don't matter until you get to 1000 bhp. The oil pump gears and the tremmec are the part that I wish I had out of my fully optioned GT Premium. That logo is cool too, dammit.
Got one on order (dealer allocation) since the 1st of September 2023...non handling pack, automatic (supposedly much quicker than the 6 spd Tremec 3.7 sec vs 4.1 secs). Dealer selling it to me at MSRP. Do check the holes behind the front wheels in fender liner...people complaining of lots of gravel, sand, and stone being kicked into the holes by the tires. Ford has yet to fix this. Ordered a Carbonized Gray color (not too many of them around). Can't wait to drive it. I mean, a C8 will smoke you off the line...but for you to call it "slow" it's definitely faster than the S550.
Nice video Brother 😎 Your car looks amazing!!! I ordered a Dark Horse back on 6 April 2023. It has been 13 months and still waiting. The UAW Strike caused a 3-4 month delay. Then I was notified by Ford that the cars ordered with the Handling Package are on restraint. I definitely want this option because I track my Corvettes, Porsches & Mustangs. So I am hoping to receive the car in June. I will immediately add on Kooks headers and the new 3” BRNP active exhaust so quickly getting to 500 rwhp while accumulating mileage. I have family and neighbors who own the DH and each have seen a definite improvement in power after reaching over 1000 miles on the car. I do like the AWE Switch-path exhaust that comes with an H-pipe. The new BNRP exhaust is similar and less expensive and gets 3 more rwhp over the AWE catback exhaust at a total of 13 rwhp compared to 10 by the AWE exhaust. Most DH owners are seeing 30+ rwhp with the Kooks headers & sport cats. I have seen in person 3 DH dynos getting minimum rwhp stock at 440+ horse power. Then add 43+ rwhp for Kooks & 3” exhaust adding to ~~446 getting close to the NA 500 rwhp. Also most people are unaware of the horse power gain by removing the carbon filter in both intakes. Initially Middleton Sports saw minimal increase when they did this and their video went out to everyone. However DH owners removing the filter clogging blockage after 1000 miles are seeing 10-12 increase in rwhp. Plus two companies have come out with enhanced cone air filters that provide an increase of 10 more rwhp; definitely better than the K&N filter!!! Now you have over 500+ rwhp. My family is actively involved in tracking several cars as their main hobbies. It is not hard to reduce the DH weight down 300+ pounds. They averaged about $1200 dollars per 100 pound reduction. Getting the DH down to 3650 pounds changes the car significantly better; also lighter than the C8 Corvette Stingray Z51. Check out the lap times a popular tracks: the DH beats the stock C8 Z51 almost always compared to the C8 and then throw on the Whipple SC gen 6 stage II and you have an impressive daily driver and a mean track car!!!! Heck do this on the S650 GT and the results are the same for under 70K. Check out Mike @ 717 StreetSpeed’s yellow S650 w/a Whipple!!!! Amazing to watch him out accelerate the Z06. Thanks for sharing your DH video. Enjoy the car and have fun!!! Life is very short‼️‼️ 👍👊💪😎🇺🇸
@@mikemet1744, so no Whipple? I'm the one with the Carbonized Gray one on order...neat to hear about Lime Rock...I grew up in Middletown, CT., but worked and retired (Military) in Virginia. Enjoy!
@mikemet1744 does the appearance package come with the longer front lip and the larger spoiler / rear wing with the gurney flap? i've ordered the appearance package here in Australia but we don't know what it is coming with.
Actually I prefer the GT front bumper. Looks better imo has that Mach 1 style. Wish the lip was as big as a dark horse handle package. But other than that it looks just like a regular Mustang. They didn’t add to much salt for flavor for the dark horse.
Sweet ride. Just a heads up, you're missing the strut tower cross brace under the hood. Other bracing is there, but the one that goes over the engine cover and ties both sides of the car together isn't there. Not sure if you may have removed it for some reason, but wanted to mention. Enjoy her!
Part of me really wants one, but i've already got an old 03 cobra. I love my cobra, it is an amazing classic mustang, but these mustang dark horses and latest 2 gen of mustangs are INSANE
Absolutely amazing! Congratulations Sir! While the „standard base model“ already is awesome, the Dark Horse really takes things up to whole new levels, have been blown away by it ever since it was first publicly unveiled. 🇺🇸👍🏻
Nice car. I’m happy with my GT. Specked it out as much as possible. But I was set on red seats, which you can’t get on Dark Horse. Also having a blast with it being a manual.
I passed on the dark horse. Got a 24 vapor blue pp gt. After whipple and upgrading a few things i wont be into it much more than what you pay for the DH msrp and have 800 plus hp and a warrenty. Win win. The internals will all be upgraded after the warrenty is up then it gets real

Grats on the order! You'll love the car! The rock thing isn't that big of a deal. Rock guards have helped since I put them on though.

What are the two air filters?
I already bought one. Premium, Vapor Blue Metallic, 6 speed, appearance package, and Recaros. LOVE it! Have fun.
Such a fun car with tons of potential! Thanks you!
@@FitzCityGarage I'm leaving mine stock. Taking it auto crossing May 8th at Lime Rock.

I can't get over the black under the headlights . It just kills it for me 😢
Damn that's what a lot of people like over the regular GT 😅
Shit is mean!

Much appreciated! Good eye! Yes, I removed it. Damn thing weighs a ton and won't do much for me on the street/drag strip.
Nice! Good call. After owning 3 mustangs, it isn't unheard of for these things to be missing parts so wanted to make sure you're covered haha!

🇺🇸👍🏻
I am wondering where is the strut brace on your car? It is standard with the dark horse (part of the GT performance pack)
It weighs a ton and I'll be adding a Whipple eventually 👍
Nice car. I’m happy with my GT. Specked it out as much as possible. But I was set on red seats, which you can’t get on Dark Horse. Also having a blast with it being a manual.
Thanks and grats on the new GT!
Man, what a car! I love the vapor blue on it.
Easily the best color on these cars! It's gorgeous!

@@FitzCityGarage thanks same to you also! Subbed to see the build! Thanks again!
Nice! Is that the vapor blue?!
Thanks and yep!
like the review. Do a review in the sunlight. Is your car Vapor Blue
Appreciate it! It was 30mph winds that day or I would have 😭
Nice ride man 😏
Thanks!
I'm looking to them. Definitely they look amazing, plus technology and anterior. This car killed zl1, corvette
I got the gt in rapid red didn’t feel the deference n saved like $15 k
That's fair. All depends on your goals though. The foraged internals is all I needed to know to pull the trigger when looking for a new car.
$15K more than a 2022 Mach 1 HP, heavier, interior options SUCK
There's a lot of differences. I'm thinking about grabbing a Mach 1 in the future though!
Ugly looking display. In time, that dash and display will be so outdated. Other than the nasty display, ford makes a nice product.
Unless you are going on tracks, there is no need for dark horse. SORRY. Premium is better than DH. It's all same engine and body.
NOT the same engine.
